So 7 years later after a great concert for Janet Jackson in Greensboro, she decided to go on tour again with the Rock Witchu Tour(named after a club friendly song off the Discipline album) and Greensboro was another spot on the tour!!! We couldnt buy our tickets on Ticketmaster fast enough. The tickets arrived safely and promptly to us. We planned on spending the weekend in Greensboro again with the concert being Saturday, October 4, 2008. We made it to Greensboro just fine and the concert day came upon us. Still excited from the last concert and anticipating all of the new songs and sets we couldnt contain ourselves. We made it to the venue fine and paid for parking and were getting ready to go into the venue. Then people starting coming back to the parking lot and reported to us and the parking lot attendant that the show had just been CANCELLED!!!! OMFG!!!! This hit us like a tons of bricks!!! We had heard rumblings earlier and she had cancelled earlier shows but thought she would be fine for the rest of the tour. We were wrong!!!! Janet was suffering from a bout of vertigo making it hard for her to dance and such, so instead of giving a half ass show she postponed it and decided to come back soon. We had planned to go to an after party at a local club but this just dampened our spirits. We didnt even go out to eat after this news. We got food delivered to our hotel. We ended up sleeping the whole time we were there. We didnt even get to sightsee again we were so bummed out!!! We left the next day in very bad spirits. Around this time there was lots press about this tour and we saw several programs on television showing the tour and how great it was. Seeing the show on television made us so envious at the fans who did see the show live. This made us feel even worse even though there was suppose to be a new date set. About two weeks after the concert date, we found out that she wouldnt be fulfilling these dates and she will continue on with the tour without these missed dates. This wasnt good news and we were heartbroken all over again. Ticketmaster did refund us all the money we spent for the tickets. I think that was the only plus in this situation. Im only giving 3 stars for the situation and not the venue since we only saw the parking lot of the venue this time and not entering the coliseum. Maybe in the upcoming years we will get to see Janet here again but until then this time will still stand out in our mind, but we are still die-hard Janet fans!!!!

The shows are fun but this place can be very unaccommodating to the handicapped. We bought tickets for Disney on ice with a group that contained some handicapped people. The seats were on the top floor which, for some reason has a private bar in the middle of the Walk way. The staff gave our group a hard time about letting someone in a wheelchair through with her preteen and teen children. We had to walk the entire building to get to our seats. On the way my MIL fell because of her disability. We finally got to our seats and watched the show. When we left THE BAR WAS CLOSED. This meant that the person in the wheelchair had to go around the entire building to get to the handicapped elevator. I have no idea how they expect people to get out quickly in case of an emergency. The walk is not short. We finally get down to the main floor. We couldnt find the right way to get her to her parking lot because we were so turned around. We flagged down staff who sent her to the wrong exit (Correct parking lot but no handicapped accessible way to exit to the parking lot). It took her over 45 min to get to her van. Our party had split up by this point. We were left with my MIL who had already fallen once, me, and 3 kids (4yrs, 7yrs, and 9yrs). We asked for help finding the correct exit to get to the front handicapped parking lot. The guy who was helping us must have been in a hurry because he walked so fast that he ended up alone with my nephew for a few minutes because the rest of us couldnt keep up through the crowd. Remember, my MIL had just fallen and was trying not to do so again. We called the next day and over the next few weeks to try to talk to management about everything but no one has ever returned any of our calls. We love Disney on Ice and my MIL has taken all of the kids every year for maybe 8years now. We are hoping to try again this year but we are going to have to go only if we can find handicapped seating that is affordable on the lower level and near the correct exit. Just be aware if you are handicapped and attending an event on a budget. Sorry for any spelling or formatting errors.

When we first arrived at the Outcry Concert we asked if there were any additional handicap seating available so my wife and daughters boyfriend could sit with us in the handicap section during the concert instead of general seating. Guest services called an Usher Captain to speak with us. He immediately said that they were 100% sold out in the handicap sections throughout the entire Colosseum. That was 100% a lie. Later that evening, 2 people were led into the handicap section we were in at 8:35pm from section 223. The concert started at 7:00pm. 4 seats stayed vacant until 8:35pm. The two people told me they asked to be moved and had not purchased handicap seating. Then at 9:35pm the ushers brought 2 more people to that section (who truly needed handicap seating). What a terrible way to represent the City of Greensboro. Shame on you for lying..... I spoke with another Usher Captain at 9:45pm to complain and she apologized and stated that the first Usher Captain should have called the box office and checked availability. She apologized. (Kudos to that one!!!!) I will call in the morning to file a formal complaint. I wonder if the Supervisor will even do anything. Im from out of town, so I bet I dont matter to them. They got my money and the other 20 people that came with me.

Was here for a concert event. The Coliseum is huge. That might be its downfall. Always do pit tickets and this pit was probably the worst I have ever been in. The space between the stage and the pit was way too wide for an artist to come near anyone except for on the sandbar. And then the stupid camera men kept blocking our view. The staff was friendly but very strict as some people kept complaining about people drinking and wanted them taken care of. These people were kicked out. (Why go into the pit if you dont want to be near rowdy people??) The pit was too big and people trashed it. The exits from the pit were not really set up for the demand and caused a lot of traffic and high tension. This has nothing to do with the venue but damn there are some ugly ass people in this world who need to control their drinking!! This place has persuaded me to never attend a concert at a big venue ever again!
