We ate here once before, in its previous incarnation as Taqueria con Quida. I remember liking the borracho chicken but being underwhelmed by the size and love put into the burrito. Mi esposa had gotten some Tacos and I remember thinking those were probably the way to go. So today we popped our heads in and I figured, since the kitchen had changed hands, that Id give the Borracho burrito another go. The Señora again went with tacos; one pastor and the other a drunk pollo. We had heard devilish things about the Cheerwine habanero sauce and filled up a cup with some of that, and also figured a small tub of the arbol hot sauce would make for a righteous companion piece. We found a table, reminisced about the great shows we had seen here and before you knew it our little red baskets were before us. Mamas tacos were packed to the max, she ended up eating just the chicken one and saving the other for an afternoon snack; there was that much chicken it. As for my burrito, the tortilla had been grilled, which I always find to be a good omen. I dipped a corner of the sucker into the habanero sauce and took a rip out of it; fat chunk of moist chicken and black beans with melted queso sizzlin on the backburner of the heat from the sauce; now THAT is a burrito! I poured some of the arbol into it next and that was a whole different monster with a very different heat profile, but both stung like a whip. I rotated between the two with each bite, breaking occasionally for a (house made) chip dip into some pico. I was impressed, and we agreed that this place would be put into our regular lunch rotation for sure. If the carne asada is as plump and juicy as the other meats then you people are my new best friend. Grade: B+ ( hope you dont mind but I refilled those ramkins and brought some of that hot sauce home.)

I personally had a negative experience there. The doormen and staff were extremely rude. The bartender would actually stop serving the multiple lines of people to spend 2-3 min texting something on his phone, looked up with me with cash in hand, stared me in the eye, sternly said "I see you." then served every attractive female that was in line after me. The doormen gave me a hard time for purchasing a ticket online, even though I had the bar code saved on my phone in hand, I was going to show it to him, until he barked for me to check my name on a list. The guy reading the list dropped my ID and looked at me as if it was my fault. The kitchen staff attempted to display normal customer etiquette, yet failed at that even at a minimum social standard. I have never had problems at other venues that I have visited anywhere in the south eastern states. It was winter when I last visited and it still became uncomfortably warm inside as well. Not to mention the location itself is in a shady part of town, which I initially didnt have a problem with until the staff reflected the outside environment on the inside to a personal level. The food and tickets are over priced as well. I will not be returning under any circumstances.

This is one of my favorite places in Asheville. The Taqueria offers affordable and delicious food. Try the plantains! The bar offers local beer and cider as well as wine and limited cocktails. They have a sweet small outdoor porch area that offers acoustic music in the afternoons on the weekends. The music room is perfect to see live music intimately and I have seen both large Global bands and local singer-songwriters. This locally owned venue is the perfect place to see live music if you are visiting the area.

This is a total Asheville staple as far as music venues go. Ive seen some of my favorite shows there. Its an intimate setting with a huge bar so youve never waiting too long. They also have killer tacos if you want to grab dinner while youre waiting. Finally theres a solid outdoor area for the cigarette smokers or if you need to get some fresh air mid show.

Five star hotel for a one star price. Was just passing through on my way to Banff, and hotelstonight booked me the wrong room. The man fixed us up fat, and we enjoyed a fantastic breakfast in the morning. Clean, quiet, and the breakfast has these rad hash browns with chives and cheese. Would stay here again, provided the price is right.

Saw Billy Strings, Amazing! Ate tempeh nachos, amazing! Mimi however, (short blonde haired chick), was the worst bartender I have ever met in my life! Over charged us and didnt even attempt to fix it. Direct quote "just dont leave a tip, I dont feel like voiding it. She should not work here, she made this experience horrible. -Brad A.

Great place to see/hear music. Good acoustics for a smaller venue. Decent beer selection. Dont go there for the food! bland and dry. Staff isnt very friendly - we ordered food and the guy basically threw it on the table. Bartender was cool though. Seemed like about 5 people were running the place. Not sure Id go back.

Its an old fashion rock dive bar and exactly what it was meant to be. Big main music room that could use a few more chairs, bar room with interesting looking menu and a beer garden where you can get away from the noise. Wonderfully eclectic live music selection including both national and regional acts.

Incredible small music venue. Staff can be a bit harsh, but I dont come here for the friendly conversation. Main room can get a little hot since airflow is slim to none, but a decent sized outdoor patio on the side Id great for cooling down between acts.

They have many good bands come here but when they say standing room only they mean it. Also, you had better like PBR or youre going to be paying 7$ for a drink. Soeaking of drinks I hope you like waiting for 10 minutes or more for one beer.

Awesome Small venue. Great acoustics. The taco shop located on premises is soooo good. We enjoyed everything Abbott the experience. Highly recommended. Come early to get a good seat (though there really arent any bad seats)

Lots of good bands. Small venue with good acoustics. Decent beer selection and a grill where you can order sandwiches and snack food. Nice outdoor patio and smoking area, but no a/c inside so it gets warm in the summer.

Super chill outdoor patio with live music - nothing too impressive but fun if youre not critical of the amatur singer songwriter types. Food at the taqueria was so-so. The queso tastes like Elmers glue.

Saw Y&T...I thought the venue was neat...has food and craft beer...big open room for band and crowd...my only suggestion is more parking and upgrade the stage lights...Ill be back...loved the vibe.

Great place to see a show. While I didnt sample the food, it looked great. The room is the perfect size for an intimate show, and they keep the sound level just right for a listening experience.

Great sound, friendly staff and the best food you will find. We love driving up the mountain from Greenville SC. We keep the Grey Eagle calendar saved and review it weekly for pop up shows!
