Get ready for the first annual Battle of the Brunches hosted at The Arbor Loft. This was a charity event where all the proceeds went to The Junior League of Rochester. This is where all of Rochesters favorite brunch places came together for a breakfast culinary showdown. The Arbor Loft is a beautiful establishment with ample amounts of space to move around throughout, with stunning chandeliers. Check-in at the Arbor Loft went smoothly EXCEPT that you needed a coat check person for the jackets. Relying on guests to hang up their own jackets on an over-crowded coat rack actually started some fights. Even while I was hanging up my jacket, someone had the nerve to steal my program and bag on the floor- and I was VIP!!! The set-up once inside was SUBURB!, as all the restaurants where placed in a prompt circular fashion around Arbor Loft. The program produced by the Junior League was the best I have seen yet at an event, with a passport styled page map to get checked-off as you passed each restaurant. The restaurants themselves really got into it, as most came first thing in the morning to set-up and get ready. While some exceeded expectations in the brunch world, others copped out by producing a dinner entrée to pass as a brunch item. This is a BRUNCH event, we want to see French toast, bacon, sausage, syrup, waffles, chicken...all which were missing from this event. Setting guidelines for the restaurants menu to review prior to the event is important to make sure enough efficiency is pronounced throughout. A lot of times we are so happy to see these vendors at an event that we overlook more strict rules to follow when producing what we call Brunch. The bar was also up to speed, as it whipped up some delicious mimosas in a matter of seconds. There did need to be more cocktail tables around the room in order to avoid eating messy food standing up. Once you make it around the world with brunch food, you can then enter a raffle drawing on your way out. This is where Jen R. was working real hard, ensuring everyone dropped a ticket in for the drawing. With program in hand, I was ready to work my way around the room, getting up and close and personnel with our competition. Simply Crepes Pittsford- I mean this restaurant really honored the meaning of what it means to be in a competition!!! They produced a FRESH quail egg on top of a brioche French toast topped with a crème fresh. These where made to order per person sautéed on the pan. The flavor was packing, as the crème fresh had this subtle taste of orange sherbet. The downside is that this is a MESSY dish, as you have to eat this in one bite with the runny yolk going down. This was my TOP pick as Simply Crepes was not only The Attendee Favorite but also Best Overall. Donuts Delight- I never would have thought these guys would have kicked it out of the park, but they did by bringing all their fresh signature breakfast items. First their homemade maple bacon walnut doughnut was so amazing, that the maple cream cheese frosting inside was melting on my face. The bacon added that savory element like eating it with pancakes on a Sunday morning. They also brought with them there FAMOUS homemade apple-fritters, and as usual these where scrumptious. I love the fresh Granny Smith apple filling within each bite, and they were HOT!! The guys serving it where HOT too, and deserved to win Best Sweet Start Champion Award. Ugly Duck Coffee- Not only do I love the people at Ugly Duck, I am also a HUGE fan of their coffee. Ugly Duck takes great pride in producing a wonderful blend of drip coffee for you. An extra added bonus about their coffee is that is gives you the caffeine rush you needed. Ugly Duck deserved to win Best Morning Roaster. Three Heads Brewing- I love the manager at Three Heads, as he makes for such an entertaining experience as you roll through the vendor loop. Three heads had their tasty signature Kind IPA, but what excelled them over the top was there brand new Confiscator Doppleback.

The venue was beautiful and overall the dinner and desserts were delicious! Some of the staff was very friendly but there were a couple people that didnt look like they wanted to be there. Also would get up to dance, take a few photos with friends or get dessert and come back to our table to find our drinks gone. Whether it was our water, wine or cocktail they were gone every time we came back, even though I had left some of my belongings including a cell phone right next to our drinks.

Great event space, the floor plan is nice and open but there are curtains to draw to provide some privacy from the main areas. The bar is small be adequate. Looking forward to the high potential that this space can serve! Opening night a great bluegrass band, Mandolin Orange, played in front of a intimate crowd

Great little place for a banquet. The owner is the sweetest young business woman. She gave me great recommendations for things to do in the area.
