I am so glad this place exists! After the old Chinatown Fair Arcades closed on Mott Street back in 2012, I havent touched an arcade or pinball machine ever since. We were treated to an orgy of pinball machines with different themes mainly from movies, but Im not complaining. All you can play and play I indeed did. Prices (As of 6/10/2014): ADULTS: $12 up to 1 hour; $19 up to 3 hours; $29 All-Day Pass CHILDREN (UNDER 7): $10 up to 1 hour; $15 up to 3 hours; $19 All-Day Pass CHILDREN (UNDER 3): FREE SENIORS (65+) & STUDENTS: 10% off all rates Meet with owner Steve Zahler and showed my his champion skills on the Soccer machine and boy was he a master. He explained what to do to get higher points and the path to pinball awesomeness. I wish there are more of these kind of establishments near where I live, but I will def. take the trek when I need to see some flippers and stainless steel balls getting knocked around mechanical triggers and ramps. The great thing about you playing here is that whatever youve spent, it can be counted toward the purchasing prices of the machine. This place is quite an investment! (For example, spent $100 so far, and a machine is $1000, then to buy it just pay the remaining 900$ balance!) Most machines are $5000+ but Im still young and have time to invest. Probably when I retire I will have my own machine...but until then Ill be visiting pretty often! (I wonder if they offered a yearly all you can play membership, this would be awesome)

My new favorite place to visit while in the city. They have a large selection of new Stern machines and also a collection of Williams, Bally, Gottlieb, and Data East pins. Compared to other places I have played I would rate the upkeep on the machines as excellent. The Fish Tales they had (on 3.23.16) played like brand new and had LEDs throughout for a bright and fast game. They also sell the pins (it seemed that every machine had a price tag on it) which sadly means their current games will constantly be changing because the prices seemed reasonable especially for Manhattan ( The Monster Bash and Theater of Magic seen in some pics were probably sold long ago and were not there). I went for the day pass and it truly is a bargain if youre looking to stay in that area of the island for any amount of time. The staff was extremely friendly and clearly passionate about pinball. There is of course countless places for food and drink nearby. They also have a restroom so playing for hours was no problem, except for the personal problem I have with my pin obsession. Cannot recommend this place enough. Thanks Modern Pinball!

I was thrilled to find this place earlier this year. There are 25-30 machines, lined up on either side of the space and all set to free play - you buy a wristband for an hour, three hours, or all day, and then play to your hearts content. With the all day wristband, you can come and go as you please all day, and you get a discount at the Mad Hatter pub restaurant next door. Modern Pinball NYC has lots of real classics, like Monster Bash, Addams Family, Theater of Magic (my favorite), Fish Tales, and Twilight Zone, in addition to newer machines like Sterns Star Trek (another favorite of mine) and Jersey Jacks Wizard of Oz. All machines are well-maintained, and the guys working there are very responsive to any issues that pop up in addition to being very friendly and always willing to chat about pinball. Interestingly, all machines are actually for sale and have price tags attached, though Ive never had the fortune to buy from them. A great place to go and spend a few hours playing your heart out!

Steve the darling owner loves pinball, and wants to get kids playing so that pinball will still be around in the coming decades. My 7-yr-old buddy asked how the flippers are controlled and he patiently showed her the guts of a pinball machine and explained some E&M basics to her as he pointed to the colorful wires. Very thoughtfully kid friendly; they have stools on hand handy for little pinballers who need a boost. There is a party room in the back with options for buying out the place for a number of hours, or for renting the room but sharing the store as it remains open. Their pinball machines are also available for sale. $10/hr for kids 7 and under. $12 an hour for adults. The rate improves the longer you stay. A wristband allows you to clock out and return in the same day to use up the time you paid for. All in all, a fun and unique arcade with throwback fun for everyone. Hope Modern Pinball sticks around!

Went here using a deal I found on one of those types of sites, where we got $3 off the hourly rate. This is such a fun idea for something unique to do in the city. You pay ~$12 for unlimited play for an hour (they have 3 hour passes and all day passes). The place has TONS of machines which are all very different and unique. Because there were so many machines, we didnt have to wait for turns to play. The owners were friendly and helpful. They offer a 10% discount for food and drinks to the bar next door. Overall a fun experience. They offer step ladders for kids and said they host parties.

Friendly guy greeted me inside and shared with me pricing and such. Roughly 25 pins. A couple old Ems from the 70s and a mixture of classics from the 80s and 90s. A few newer Stern pins. ALL machines are nicely maintained. Played the all and had no issues. One multicade video towards the back if you need a video game fix although its an LCD screen so not true to old school. Overall a great time. Rather small and it wasnt crowded while I was there which made it fun. No food or drinks served here but plenty of places around and a discount is given next door so thats a nice touch.

This place is set up as a timed space. You dont use quarters or tokens, just a wristband with an expiration time. There are at least 2 dozen pinball machines from all eras, though sadly not all of them are active at once. Im not sure if its a maintenance issue, or a crowding issue, but about 6 or 7 games werent even turned on. The place is clean and booze-free. A great place for a date or the kids. Not a standard arcade like at Dave and Busters, and theres no ticket machines. Youre there because you like to play pinball. Ill definitely be back.

This place is wonderful! There are so many great machines to play and it is such a welcoming space. We came in last week for a few hours; it was pretty empty when we arrived but picked up later when the leagues got there. I played almost every machine and once I chose my favorite (The Addams Family) I stuck to it all night. I was worried people would get annoyed with me hogging the machine but the regulars were all so friendly and just told me to keep playing til my fingers fell off. Modern Pinball is an absolute gem; I cant wait to come back.

Pas mal du tout à visiter et prendre une ou deux heure de détente. $12 de lheure, jeu illimité sur tous les flippers disponible (une 20aine) et des réductions dans le bar dà côté. Une bonne variété de flip, anciens et récents à la fois.
