Reclining Seats: One of the most talked-about features is the automatic reclining chairs. These are not just any chairs but "leather-esque" lazy boys that recline at the push of a button.
Assigned Seating: Customers appreciate the convenience of assigned seating, which allows them to arrive just minutes before the movie starts without worrying about finding a good spot.
Customer Service: Reviews are mixed when it comes to staff interaction. Some customers have had poor experiences with staff, citing unprofessional behavior and lack of attention to detail.
Location: The theater is just two blocks away from the 86th subway station, making it easily accessible.
Online Booking: The theater offers online booking, and customers recommend using AMC stubs to waive off the $3 convenience fee.
Ticket Cost: After Fandango fees, each ticket comes to around $20. Matinee shows, even on weekends, are priced at $8.50.
Value for Money: Most customers feel the pricing is reasonable given the quality of the seats and the overall experience.
Seating Options: The theater offers large power recliner seats that are well-spaced out, with generous space between rows.
Food and Beverage: The vending machine offers over 100+ drink options, including unique flavors like Coca-cola lime and Fanta lime.
Positive Feedback: Customers rave about the comfort and convenience, particularly the reclining seats and the assigned seating.
Negative Feedback: Some customers have had issues with customer service and cleanliness. There were also complaints about the theater not showing certain types of movies.
Payment Options: Customers recommend using Visa signature cards to buy Fandango bucks at a discounted rate.
Refills: Although refills are usually only for large cups, there's surprisingly no one to keep a check on the refills.
AMC 84th Street 6 is known for its luxurious seating and modern amenities, making it a popular choice for movie-goers in Manhattan. The theater's proximity to public transport and its online booking system add to its appeal. However, it's essential to note that customer service experiences have been mixed, so your mileage may vary.

Before you even consider watching a movie anywhere else aside from this AMC, please stop yourself. This theater is, hands down, the best theater in Manhattan. No matter if you live in the LES or right around the corner, this place is worth a 30 second or 30 minute trek. Like every other review of this place, what puts this place 10 notches above every other theater is that they have automatic reclining chairs. These arent your regular cloth chairs that rock. These are "leather-esque" lazy boys that recline with a push of a button. I cannot say how mind blown I was when I got in here and saw these amazing chars. Theyre wide, there is plenty of leg room and walk space between each row, and dare I even say that these seats are more comfortable than my bed? Price-wise, after your Fandango fees, each ticket comes to right around $20. Thats not even that bad considering the fact that aside from their amazing seats, you also have assigned seats. What that means, is that you can forget coming to the theater 45 minutes early on opening night. What you can do is show up 5 minutes before, stroll into the theater, and go right up to the seats that you have reserved. If you can manage to think of a theater in the city that can give you a better experience, then by all means please go there. However, I dont think that that kind of place exists. Hence AMC Loews on 84th St. is the place to be. The seats are amazing, you can select your seats when you buy your ticket online, and the price per ticket is more than reasonable. Because of this place, I dont think I can ever watch a movie at any other theater.

Being used to super comfortable push-back seats in theaters back in India, I was rather unhappy about the theaters here. So glad I found this place that I consider better than the ones am used to! Heres why this place deserves a 5-star. * Large power recliner seats that are well spaced out. Generous space between rows. * Reserved seating, so suggest booking the tickets online. Buy using AMC stubs to waive off the $3 convenience fee. * Matinee shows (even on a weekend) here are just $8.50. * The armrest between 2 adjacent seats can be folded up if you plan on getting cosy with your date. So, perfect for a movie-date! Its like watching a movie with your partner on a sofa bed at home, but on a bigger, better screen. * The vending machine here has 100+ drink options! Its apparently called the coca-cola freestyle and the only such machine in Manhattan. Did you know flavors like Coca-cola lime, Fanta lime, Grape Ginger-ale, etc exist?! * Although refills are usually only for large cups, theres surprisingly nobody to keep a check on the refills. * Just 2 blocks away from the 86th subway station. Service, both at the entrance and the food counters are fast. Another tip not specific to this theater is to use visa signature cards to buy Fandango bucks at a discounted rate.

I had the wrost experience at the movie theater of 84th. I had a situation where I wanted to change my tickets to another time. Me and my friends wanted to watch Spiderman 3D together rather then separated. My ticket got changed to the next time but it was regular not 3D. When I spoked with the supervisor he gave me the tickets knowing I had payed extra for the 3D. But first of all let me tell you about this women at the front desk once you walk in. Shes black, chubby and has a nose piercing. She made my friends and my life miserable by saying that we can change the time, come another day or get a refund. The time that she had for us was to late for us on a Sunday night. She gave us a bad attitude in fact when me and my friends walk in to watch the "movie in 3D"her and the supervisor walk out the front entrance. Looking suspicious when my friends and I notice that it was not 3D we call the supervisor again and it was a different guy he gave us free passes but after all there system sucks and the manager should look into this situation and now I will never go to this movie theaters just because of the unprofessionals!!!! Great movie theater but this 2 individuals got me pissed because I did not watch the movie !!!

We tried at least twice to see a predominantly "Black Movie" at this theatre, the most recent, "Annie" and was advised they dont or wont run black movies. Maybe to many miss piggies have complained about the project people. So our plans to treat our Christmas Season Baby, wont happen at the theater of her choice! Shes turning nine next week and I will explain to her the reality of racism and how covert racism will effect her life, as did overt racism affected mine in the segregated South of the 60s. Considering what Sony is going through you would think that many of these businesses would be a little more transparent, in their manner of doing business with the people who spend green and shed red just to be free to go where they can see what they want, and relax like all others in the "New Reclining" seats of the new theater experience. Just Saying! For the past 15 years this was my favorite movie house, before that I went to the grandest movie houses in Harlem, the Bronx and Brooklyn....but after this I dont think I will support those institutions who practice ******!

I went to this theater yesterday to see CREED awwwwww man. I am never going back to a regular theater unless i absolutely have to. For starters,if you get 2 ticket from the theaters in times square it will cost you $34 if you buy your tickets online. The price for seats in this theater is $39 which is not a big difference. Not to mention the area is not at all as crazy and crowded as the theater in times square or 34th street and when you get to your reserves seats NO ONE WILL BE IN YOUR SEAT.You can print your reservation online and by pass the lines outside the theaters.Simply press the button on the left side of the seat and recline AAAHHHH. I dont care much for popcorn etc so i cannot tell you about the service but the theater is lovely. I AM NEVER GOING BACK TO THE ANY THEATER IF IT DOES NOT HAVE RECLINING SEATS FOLKS

Dispite seeing all the other positive reviews on here, my review is mixed. The customer service here at the time I went wasnt good. I ordered nachos and cheese and their was no warm cheese left. So they warmed some up for me and the container holding the cheese was melted with the cheese. The woman that was warming the cheese seem like she didnt care. She tossed the containers on the counter near the cashier to serve it to me. Idk what kinda unorthodox method she used to warm it, but I k ow it wasnt the correct method. Anyway the theater was clean and chairs are awesome. Lots of space between chairs and they recline all the way into a bed like position. Very comfortable motorized leather chairs that is comfortable. Reserved seating that makes it so easy to get the seats u always wanted without hassle.

These nut busters really blowing mine like wtf. I ordered everything large and when i went to get the popcorn refilled; the young short brunette with curly hair, refused to give me service. I remember her name to start with a J. The theaters were super messy. My chair was broken. Floors were sticky. The "Real-D 3D" wasnt at all as they advertised it to be. I felt as if the screen was actually going into the screen rather than popping out at me. When eating my popcorn, I found traces of weave. There was an entire braid/ track in the bag. My ICEE was so frozen that I wasnt even able to drink it while I was watching the movie. I feel as if I should just wait for these movies to come out on blu-ray so i can watch it at home. The man who usually greets me to have enjoy your movie, completely ignored me.
