Well, if you are ok paying $15 for one ticket to see Kung Fu Panda, then come on down! Listen, for a typical movie experience (not IMAX), movies shouldnt be this expensive. The seats arent nice enough to call for those prices. Sure, its in the city, but no, those prices encourage me to drive up to New Rochelle and just watch the movies I really care about on their IMAX screen for $20/ticket. And yes, those are worth it if Im watching the right movie. The theater is clean, yes, and the concessions are normal, a lot of kids come to this theater on the weekends with their families, which is fine, but I will say, if you are watching a more kid-friendly show, not every family in Brooklyn has kids that can sit quietly for an hour and a half. With the way the movie/tv industry is moving, it makes sense for my wife and I to rent movies digitally using the VIDANGEL app on our Amazon Fire TV, where we can watch a movie at home for $1/$2. I would rather purchase the movie I want to watch than go to this theater to watch it for $15.

Looking for a movie theater with floors stickier than gum and no sense of how to lay out a floor plan? Then look no further, because the UA Court Street theatre is for you! While most movie theaters arent known for their cleanness, the UA Court Street takes this to another level. After sitting through Rogue One, my feet were stuck to the floor, because of (what I hope was) the soda from previous showings. Even if the theatre was to power wash every floor top to bottom, you would still have to contend with one of the tiniest lobbys know to mankind. The ticketing windows are in a tiny room which makes most NYC apartments seem palace-like, and is the only way to get into the theater. This leads to a perpetual bottleneck, with people lined up to buy tickets getting looped backwards in line to present their tickets, due to the layout of the lobby These sorts of shortcomings are tolerable at a theater like the Bay Ridge Alpine, where the tickets are cheap and the semi-clean theaters are part of the price of admission

My problem with this theater is in general there prices. When its a superhero movie or star wars theres no children tickets and no matinee either everything just one expansive $15 to $20 if its one of those two types of films. So for a family of 4 youre looking at a price tag between $60 to $80. Went to go see bat vs superman in rpx no one knew how to run the device and ended up having to leave because 20 minutes into the film and they couldnt figure the problem mind you film was mostly sold out. Add on another $30 to $40 for food cause during these movies like what i mentioned because they get the custom popcorn and drink combo. Family of 4 can easily go to or surpass $120. Alamo theater not too far from them they are reservation setup with waiter service and their movie pricing far cheaper. Went to go see guardians of the galaxy vol2. At 10am. UA $18 to $20 a ticket Alamo same time frame $11 a ticket for same movie. All Im saying is that they are crazy.

Worse experience ever!!!! After spending over 50 dollars on 3d movie tickets. This young Spanish worker just took our tickets. He didnt give us glasses. Didnt tell us where the movie was playing. He just stop to search my bag & the childrens bookbag. As we went to the concession stand a few feet away. He started talking loud to the other employees about how he was gonna kick us out for having snacks and he ready. While they were laughing he then says he was ready to fight. We didnt have any food or anything. I spent another 35 on snacks for the kids. Then he stares at us with a mean face. I just stopped to stare back at him waiting for him to say something. Then he got mad I asked for my 3d glasses. After that ghetto nonsense I will just stick to AMC theaters in the city. The manager was just as ghetto as the employees so who do i complain to. I will never go back ever again. I spent over 80 dollars to be treated like a criminal.

Although its a popular movie theater in Brooklyn I never had issues here. It is and can be crowded quick during popular movie releases. Not a fan of lines so I always use the kiosk which is a lifesaver if u ask me. They dont usually let ppl up 30 mins before the movie starts. Depending on the time of day u are going the main lobby can be the only concession stand open. Which can be a bummer if ur movie is playing on the higher floors. Lines for the concession stand can get crowded quickly. Reasonable amounts of theaters for multiple viewing on new releasing. Staff usually is checking tickets to make sure no movie hoppers go in. Police presence is in the theater. Bathrooms are mostly on every floor. Some theaters are not that clean sometimes. It can be hit or miss with having it clean. Recently they have been doing a good job taking care of the last viewer s garbage they leave behind.

LOVE the convenience of this theater. Its a neighboring neighborhood movie theater. However, this too needs a renovation. My daughter and I have been coming here to watch movies ever since she was 5months and shes now 10. Shes actually grown up with this place. Ive been coming here waaaaay before she was thought of being born. So I have some real nostalgic memories and moments with this theater. The staff has always been nice and respectful. The management are always accommodating while creating a smooth experience for its patrons. A quick example would be when an incident happened with one of the theaters that was suppose to be showing a childrens movie. The wrong movie previews were scheduled with adult content that terrified the children. The manager immediately rectified the situation and gave everyone in attendance a complimentary movie ticket.

So...yeah. The hood teen crowd is an issue on the weekends or for any big release. That said, there are precious few movie theaters left in Brooklyn and this is one of the better ones. Sheepshead is only accessible by car, so this one is the nicest one near trains and as such attracts the younger teenage crowd from around the borough. For the yuppies making comments about "ghetto" "hood rats" I think it reflects more on them than it does anyone else. Amazing what kind of things get said with the relative anonymity of the internet. With that said, if youre looking to have a more intimate experience at the movies, I would recommend avoiding this theater on the weekends and midnight releases for blockbusters. Otherwise during the right times, its a local gem. Also...you get some of the same rowdy crowds in Manhattan

Multiplex theater that plays all the popular movies. A good amount of screens and typical chain theater setup with no real complaints. The one that sets itself apart from other theaters is that it has RPX which at a couple dollars premium, you can enjoy a larger screen and comfy seats. It almost feels like a fancy home theater. This is a great option for movies that have amazing visual effects so you can get a fuller experience. TIP: As it is popular during the weekends, there is typically a line that goes outside the theater. I would suggest going to the electronic kiosk or buying tickets online during busy hours so that you dont miss showtime. Plus, I actually like watching the trailers in the beginning! :)
