My wife and I went to Franks theater in Bayonne New Jersey on Saturday October 3, 2015 for a day of relaxation and were turned away because my wife had a bottle of water in her purse.. The attendant who couldnt have been more that 16 years old asked if he could search her purse for food, drinks, or weapons. We were both VERY insulted and could not believe what just happened. Im pretty sure that if you want to search for WEAPONS search everyone not just the woman and be sure to have a police officer at your side, I dont think that you should have children searching anyone for weapons...not once did he want to search me a male for weapons. So i guess its the policy of Franks theater to target woman with purses only and let the men walk in, for all the attendant knew I could have had a weapon on my person. We went back to the ticket booth and asked for a refund and the person at the booth didnt even ask what the problem was or why we wanted a refund. I will look into this practice more and Never again will myself or my family go to any of Franks theaters.

for the most part the place is great.i am off during the week so my girlfriend and i go to late show and many times have theater to ourselves. the screens are a little small compared to other places, but the prices are great, the staff is really good, and i would suggest getting a loyalty card to present every time you go, we have gotten so much free stuff over the years, it is definitely worth it. SINCE I HAVE WRITTEN THIS REVIEW, WE HAVE HAD A PROBLEM WITH THE THEATER AND THE AIR CONDITIONING, FOR OVER A MONTH NOW THE AC IS NOT WORKING PROPERLY AND THEY KEEP SAYING IT IS GOING TO BE FIXED BUT IT SEEMS IT NEVER IS, EVERY TIME WE GO THE AC IS SO LOW YOU CANNOT ENJOY A MOVIE AND EVERY TIME WE COMPLAIN THEY SAY THEY WILL TAKE CARE OF IT BUT IT NEVER GETS ANY COLDER. WHATS UP WITH THIS? another problem with this place is that they show the same previews over and over and then when the movie comes out they do not get it. case in point the edge of seventeen.

just make sure you dont leave / misplace anything ...the staff and the supervisors/manager are so insensitive should you file a complain or ask circumstances to be looked into...my daughter left her camera (a big one) on the movie seat ...came back right away to ask help to find it...no effort to even ask the staff checking the area after the movie ...said will get back on few occasions of follow up to the managers but not even a courtesy call, it was just sad cause it takes so long to save up considering our situation but then again there was much negligence on my daughters part which she has valid reason but then HONESTY as rare as it is would have been nice cause its definitely one of the staff that got it...wish that person well.

The bathrooms are not kept up to par and no soap was available. Went to sit and wait for the movie and the previews being shown were barely visible and the projector was off center to the right by about two feet. Went to inform a staff member who barely looked legal to work. The staff member told me they would inform someone to fix it with an attitude like "yeah Ill let them know but Im just saying it to get you outta my face". Needless to say the trailers and entire movie played with two feet of the movie cut off. Will not be going back to this place ever again. Its better to pay for AMC in Newport. At least there the sitting, bathrooms and staff are great quality.

I would like to speak to the owner. I was there last night with 6 people and the bathrooms were really disgusting. All the women in the bathrooms were complaining.about how dirty it was. I took nanny pictures and also spoke to a young manager who had no idea that the bathrooms were so dirty. I lived in Bayone for 51 years and I am not a complainer....but I should be able to bring my children to a clean theater, especially when I pay so much each time we go. I would be glad to send you any pictures. I wil also be poating it on Facebook. You need to put up a cleaning schedule and make these kids accountable.

I was really looking forward to wonderful films nearby. But, to my dismay, hey are showing the least intelligent films out there. OK, so thats my choice. But the place is run by children. Children who do not think its important to clean the restrooms! When I complained to the oldest person last Sunday about the paper all over the floor, no toilet paper, and unflushed toilets (supposedly automatic), he told the woman next to him to clean it. Obviously this was to get rid of me. She laughed and when next seen, was walking out of the theater. I wont be back!

It is long over do for the carpeting and seat covers to be changed, I was sticking to the carpet while waiting to see my movie. You have to inspect your seat before you sit from all the stains, I know people are just plain disgusting but thats part of doing business. I suggest covering them in an easy to clean vynil for cost and longevity. This is my local theater I really enjoy it, always a great staff but it is getting dingy and needs to be addressed ASAP!!!

This theatre is long overdue for renovations it shouldnt even be open to the public the conditions are filthy and management is useless.i brought 3 tickets couldnt even find a seat when I got there basically you kept my money and I didnt even watch the movie I leaned over thinking there was an armrest and instead scraped an elbow like seriously lol I just walked out pathetic theatre they should shut you down and remodel with the 33$ I contributed...

The theater is kept pretty clean, but they rarely have more than one person selling tickets at the box office and the movies never start on time. We went to a midnight showing of a huge summer blockbuster at this theater and it was unorganized to the point of chaos. Our movie was scheduled to begin at 12:00 AM and it was almost 12:30 when the previews finally began. But theyre the closest movie theater to my home, so I have to put up with it.

They forgot to turn on the movie. My wife had to go to the popcorn booth and remind them about it. As a result, the movie started with 35 minutes delay! The movie speakers were old and made squeeky vibration noise when the sound was getting loud. The floors were sticky and the overall smell in a room was as if there were rotten corpses around. Most likely wont go again, but sadly, there are no other choices in Bayonne/Jersey City.

This is twice that Ive been and the movie I want to watch is in a theater that the AC is not working in it. As a business person myself, I know if I have to fix something for my guests I would do it. They havent learned that yet. Get your AC fixed, I left and you lost my business. How do you not get it fixed through the slowest part of the day? You have all day before it gets busy, fix the AC!
