Like many old industrial zones next to all the new real estate development happening up and down Queens and Brooklyns East River frontage, this area has been turned into a very nice park. The trees are still too young and few for babies n blankets, but the playground and water feature are great. Wasnt too busy on a hot Sunday in late July, but maybe we just got lucky. Theres even a long pier to stroll out on and views of the city are an extra bonus. In the summertime, Brooklyn Ice Cream factory has an outlet up near Newtown Creek. Its great.

Things like Transmitter Park remind me that there are so many gems in the city which I have not yet been able to experience. I did not even know that place even existed. My buddy told me about about this park. While biking back from Brooklyn Bazaar we decided to check this out. This by far is one of the most non touristy spots as most of the people dont know that it exists. It was so nice to sit by the grass and looking at the skyline. The view is really nice. Come here and enjoy the views (tourist free) :)

Big, generally not crowded, and brand new. The dock goes far out into the water. Easy to miss if youre not looking for it as it doesnt have a large sign and is located at the end of a deadend street. Cute bars all around the area, and its really beautiful at night time when theres a clear view of the city lights reflecting over the water. Its relatively quiet because not a lot of people know about it yet. Really great for a nice stroll. Romantic, too; I once saw a marriage proposal there!

This is one of my favorite parks. I take friends here to see and feel how beautiful it is. It gets nice and quiet at night, has an incredible view. Its a bit small, but Ive spent hours here at a time in the past. Also, cool history that not many seem to know about.

Great little hidden park with an amazing view. Easily accessible from the local bars and restaurants and a great place to bring a dog or sit and watch the sunset. Deceptively hard to get from the east River ferry landing on India street.

Great park for adults to pass the time or to walk a dog. Sun bathing is normal here. Also has a pier that leads out into the water that presents some wonderful views of Manhattan.
