Captain Cinema
Always something exciting going on at Brooklyn Center! And at great prices too. Stuff that you would need to trek into Manhattan for, but here its at half the ticket price. I must say, though, I do miss the movies on that huge screen in the Walt Whitman Theatre. It was the only single screen left in Brooklyn and with incredible sound too -- it was Brooklyns Ziegfeld. Now that theyve closed the Ziegfeld.... Just saw Step Afrika and it was a blast -- a super show and even though the Saturday performance was snowed out, they moved it to Sunday, PHONED US to tell us it was moved and we could use our Saturday tickets or GET A REFUND -- what theatre does THAT?!! The staff at the door was very helpful and friendly and seemed sympathetic that we had to trudge thru nasty slush and floods to get there...once inside it was just an all-around, very uplifting experience. If you have never been there, its one of the must-try venues in Brooklyn.

The restrooms smelled too back, you can smell the disgusting olor in the lobby. In the restrooms no toilet paper, no soap and anything for dried your hands. Buy they presented excellent show around the world to excellent price. The afternoon I visited I saw a five star show for $25.00. It made to me forgot the bag olor. The theatre is modern ,clean and comfortable. Brooklyn Center Performing arts people excellent. I saw a disability women waiting for open the door and employees gave to her a seat. I have good experience. I recommend. Next star Chaka Khan.

I saw Chaka Khan in concert here and loved it. The venue was clean, even the womens bathroom (and thats saying something!). We had a good view from where we sat, and sound set up was crisp and clear. Exiting after the concert was effortless as they opened all side doors so there wasnt a crush to get out. The only thing that was a bit of a crush was getting out of the parking lot. Oh well!

Its a popular venue for a lot of graduations. I graduated high school here in 2005 but recently attending another graduation was a pretty miserable experience because they systematically refused to air condition the place on the hottest day of the year, and would not allow people entry back in after using the bathroom (not me , but a woman next to me). What a dump .

For the student campus theater its pretty nice. None of the usual refinements of more established theaters on Broadway but still a nice place to sit watching a show or a play with full ability to there and back with no issues. And most importantly its small. Though a parking situation could be made a bit better.

Theater setting is intimate and very suitable for musical shows and theater drama. Their bar and lounge are pathetic, drab and expensive. They could have easily prepped this to be a nice fancy hangout! Missed opportunity. Do your cocktails, socials before entering the theater

The auditorium in the center is luxurious and comfortable, and wonderful to watch performances and graduations in. The service from staff was very helpful to visitors also. However, the staff did not turn on air conditioners on a hot day, lowering the experience.

Huge seating field for big scene. Nice dividing for sectors makes it easy to reach your place. Parking lot is really tight but there is cheap shopping center parking nearby so no problems getting parked.

The place was amze the light and surround sound was good I was there for a show so you only able to go to the theater and bathroom in my opinion the womens louge was big but needed to be clean.

Great space, acoustics arent terrible. But the manager of the house and the contractors that do staging, lighting and sound should be employed elsewhere, preferably not working with people.

The theater has no AC, its to hot to seat through a 2 hour performance. Cannot enjoy the show, its my second time at the venue and its just has no air, no ventilation.
