I am a kite surfer who frequently travels from Rochester to this wonderful park to enjoy the beautiful beach and lake for my recreation. I cant say enough about how great this place is and how warmly we have been made welcome by Ray Pawlowski and the entire staff that runs this place for the Town of Hamburg. The facilities are clean and well maintained. The beach is kept pristine. We have a great community of kiters and have made good friends from all over western New York, who are drawn here to play. During the summer, the beachgoers and the music and beach bar creates a vibe that is unique and fun.

I live very close to this beach and love it. I used to go to the Hamburg Beach when I was younger but love this one more. The water of Lake Erie has cleaned up a lot since I was a kid. Unfortunately you still will need to check daily if the water I swimmable with the FB page of the beach. Theres bounce houses for the kids in the summer, movies on the beach, a bar, and kids playgyms. I love walking the ramps through the wooded area to get to the beach. They also have an area to the side for grilling and hosting events like magic shows.

I am a kitesurfer and our regional crew visits Woodlawn Beach regularly. Ray Pawlowski, the parks manager, is as gracious and accommodating a host as any beach goer could hope. His crew maintains the beach impeccably especially considering the prevailing westerly wind that constantly forces debris into Eries eastern basin. As an outdoor enthusiast its refreshing to have a beach with management that embraces the prime reason for our public parks; enjoying nature!

Water is usually too polluted to swim in during the summer but the sand is nice. More of a family atmosphere but a area just for adults if your looking for a refreshing alcoholic beverage or snack on the beach. A restaurant near the parking lot,pavilions,grill area,lodge for weddings. All types of activities throughout the summer from concerts to gatherings.

Not bad for a beach on lake erie. Its nice durring the off season also. Come mid and late summer the beach will still be nice but i wouldnt swim. Agricultural runoff from farming causes a algae bloom, and the water becomes unsafe and oxygen-poor. Cant believe we are still messing up are limited fresh water supply. Still not a bad place to visit.

Nice beach......could be a little cleaner but understandable. Did not like the idea that we could only swim in between the two orange flags because thats where everyone else was and it seemed really dirty. Down the beach a little ways the water and sand were really clean and thats where I wanted to swim.

Easily accessed from Buffalo. Beautiful setting. Entrance fee per car. Playground for kids, tiki bar for adults, life guards on duty, restrooms/changing rooms, volley ball courts groomed beach and plenty of parking. Roped off swimming area. Swimming is sometimes closed so call before you go.

Nice Beach complete with a large playground for the kids. Kayaks are available for rental, and there is also a beach bar. Only downside is the water is not open very often, the beach is located right next to a sewer treatment plant, and I makes you think twice about going in the water.

I love this beach so much! Call ahead to see if the water is open. They have a restaurant, a bar, and a playground on the beach. I took my 2yo daughter almost every day last summer so we will definitely get a pass this year. Its $7 per a car to get in, but well worth it in my opinion.

The negatives to this beach is that the parking is 7 dollers and the water is often closed so you have to call or go online to see if the water is open, however the beach has volleyball nets and is very walkable. Other than those issues this beach is wonderful.

Very nice, quiet beach at Lake Erie. You can get to the beach by walking on a boardwalk with very informative signs and explanations about the wetlands below the boardwalk. There are also benches along the boardwalk to sit down and enjoy the birds chirping

Great views of the water. Pretty crowded on a long weekend or a holiday so come early. Grills in plenty and many in the shade so thats an advantage. Road accessibility to grill sites is excellent, so offloading is not an issue.

Its a very nice bech. However, these people close it to swimming whenever there is a little bit of something like... a high tide, or too much wind. Please check if it is open for swimming before going.

Very nice, went here for fireworks. But apparently its near a treatment plant and the water isnt good. Gotta love the fact that were continuing to destroy our diminishing fresh water sources

The water was very dirty when we went to the shower and undressed there were sticks and dirt all over our bodies not the usual bodies were just about covered with dirt and sticks

So the water was closed for swimming and we still had to pay $7 for parking, but I was able to hunt for sea shells and beach glass. Very pretty view, too.

Good parking.Easy accessibility. Very clean beaches. Very clean restrooms at Lodge- suggest using them before accessing the beach. Beautiful lake views.
