We walked in and received a warm greeting and we were immediately taken to our table. The waiter arrived promptly and, when asked, told us some of his favorites on the menu. One ordered the Salad with Chicken on it. The other ordered Pulled Pork Sandwich with French Fries. It seemed like a long wait, and the waiter brought a basket of rolls saying our order would be out soon. The rolls were dry and burned on the bottom. The butter was different with some green chile in it. A unique taste. Our food arrived after a longer wait - we werent in a hurry, but I think we were there during a change in the shift and it took longer than at most places for our type of order. The salad with chicken was tasty and looked very good too. The pulled pork with french fries was another matter. The french fries looked overly done and tasted that way too, The pulled pork was barely warm and was very dry tasting. I had decided not to return to this place. A manager stopped by to ask how everything was. I told him about the fries and the pulled pork. He explained why the fries might be over done and the pork dry. He did not offer to replace it but apologized. I decided not to return to this place. About 10 minutes later, the manager was back with another pulled pork sandwich and fries. The fries were done - not overly done. The pulled pork was not dry. Both were good - but having eaten some of the bad stuff and some of the good salad with chicken on it, I could only taste a bit and brought it home with me. It is in the refrigerator now. So, we will try again De La Vegas again - but now know that they can offer good pulled pork and fries and will ask for a manager right away if that is not delivered. We probably will avoid the shift change too.

Ive frequented this place often when I come into town as I do with every restaurant I like. The bartenders are typically pretty good. No issues with them. This is however, the first time Ive sat away from the bar in the seat yourself area. Found a seat and waited nearly 20 minutes. The bar is three feet away but I was wanting food as well so I figured it best to wait. Finally, I gave up and walked up to the bar and got a drink. About 40 minutes passed and I still hadnt gotten a server. I was hungry. Again, walked up to the bar and got a food menu and placed an order. Looked off to the right and saw two servers standing there doing nothing. Walked back to my seat and waited. About five minutes later two girls walk in and take a seat literally right next to me. A server approaches them and gets their drinker orders within a minute. Never even gives me a passing glance. Never acknowledges me. Nothing. Too bad for her because I tip much more than the typical customer. Only thing she did was ensure I saved an extra $20. Thanks! So anyway, now Im really pissed. Instead of asking for a manager and yelling at some girl that obviously wont care I decided to write a review. This is not the level of service Ive come to expect from this restaurant. If you decide to go, dont sit away from the bar. Lesson learned. But I wont be going back.

I am a non-drinker, so I didnt taste any of their extensive drink menu. Although the chocolate bacon brandy milkshake did roll around the table as conversation piece for a moment. Others at the table shared a bottle of seven deadly zins zinfandel and were quite pleased. I was quite impressed with their rib plates. Between the fellow to my right and myself, we tried both available flavors of their rib entrees. Oh my goodness!! I have been dying for a good plate of ribs, and tonight I got to try two. The flavor profile on the red chili was dark, subtle, and kept on playing with my tongue. The thai glaze, like almost everything in thailand, was only interested in my total destruction. Despite living down here a decade, it bordered on too spicy for me. I will contrast this by mentioning that the mashed potatoes were extraordinarily dull. Which brought to my attention that there were no pepper/salt shakers on the table. We did get an excellent server. She was obviously busy, but did take some time to come by and chat with us. She even was able to keep up with our tables somewhat strange sense of humor and play along with us. Even the door greeter was great. She saw our daughters birthday crown and made sure she didnt leave without a birthday treat.

For being the second time there I figured it would be a better experience than the first..boy was I wrong.. Where should I start.. first the hostesses were rude and seemed like they didnt know what they were doing.. the server came gave us the special and didnt even ask us for a drink order.. then the food was just plain terrible, we had the meatloaf it smelled like a can of dog food, and i ordered the the shrimp pasta thinking I was gna get the fettuccine pasta but instead got angel hair, the server said they had recently changed to that instead but some how forgot to mention that wene I ordered the food..it felt like I was eating fideo..overall bad experince both times and would not recomend this place to anyone.. honestly I think De la Vega should have stuck to what he does best nephrology.

I dont know where these other reviewers come from either, but the food is excellent and the prices are a match. The presentation and instinctful feel of the environment is very classy. Good decor, Plenty of Seating Options, Courteous Staff, Great Selection of Drinks and Great Menu options. The Wife and I stop in here Everytime we come through or even just turn it into part of our trip. They deserve a much better rating than I see here. In the many times I have been here Ive never had one complaint on anything personally, nor the Wife. Its definately worth a try to anyone and they have some of the greatest house Brews. If I was a local Id keep it as a "Citys best kept secret" as well, but thatd be just plain selfish.. ; )

So I spent the day doing a brewery tour with several friends hitting the Spotted Dog, High Dessert, Bosque Brewery, and The Pecan Grill and Brewery. This was probably my second favorite spot next to the spotted dog. However, they have better food here...but at a higher price with nothing under $15. Tried the fondue app and the el pastor tacos as well as the dark beer flight. Food was delicious as was most of the beers...even snuck a taste of my buddies green chili ale...surprisingly good. The Pecan Brown seemed to artificially flavoured. But there were plenty of good ones too. The restaurant is weirdly set up though. The main dining area seems very fancy while bar area over relaxed. Service was good though...

Ive been in town for a few weeks with work, & I came here about 12 times. The second day we sat at the bar and Tara helped us out. She introduced us to Milk Money Vodka for our white Russians & it was amazing! Her service was outstanding, but her personality was perfection. The other workers were great as well. The food was great. I tried chile stuffed chicken, ahi tuna appetizer(everyday), stuffed chiles, french toast, chile stew(favorite), and bites of others dishes. We were so happy we didnt have to force ourselves to eat at Applebees or something similar. If I ever return to Las Cruces, Pecan Grille will see me. Thank you Tara! You are just awesome overall!
