They have the medals to prove that theyve created some delicious micro-brews. The people sitting inside and out seemed to be enjoying their beers. Having said that, you cannot get a sandwich here. Nor would you want to, because the facility is dirty. Following one review, it seems, they have put up a sign advising clients to clean up after their own dogs. We went hoping for a quick lunch, and rather than offend them by turning on our heels, I ordered a growler of Mad Mollys Brown Ale. $14 for a half gallon, but the lady was unable to fill the container due to it being pure foam. Fifteen minutes she messed around, yelling at her cohorts and all, without it occurring to her to give me my money back. Since the beer came from foam, the result was that it was flat.

Go here to drink beer and hang out. This is NOT a restaurant. It is NOT a brew pub. It is NOT fancy. This is a place that has beer good enough to stand in line for. It is in a beautiful area that you can sit, look around, and enjoy Golden, CO. Bring the kids - they have pop and snacks. Bring the dogs - just clean up after them. Bring the bikes - everyone else does. This is a place where they like to make, serve, and drink beer. They didnt plan on being TGIFridays which some reviewers seem to have expected. They ARE too popular for their own good. GOOD FOR THEM! It wont keep me from going back. I just wont go back when they are too crowded. Perfect after the Golden Farmers Market.

After being nearly exhausted from all of the hiking we made our way to a couple of breweries in Golden. The first stop was at Golden City Brewery. It was kind of cool because you could really smell the byproduct of the beer production that they had going on there. I had a flight there where we tasted six of their beers. My favorites there were the Mad Molly Brown. It had a rich and nutty flavor and was just incredibly smooth. I also loved their Evolution IPA which had the bite of hops without being too aggressive which is what I search for in a good IPA. The only beer that I didn’t like there was the Cedar Creek Golden Pale Ale.

My wife and I had the chance to visit the Golden City Brewery last week and enjoyed the personality of the place along with the tour by our newest friend, Bob. He shared the story of the Brewery from its simple beginning to where the brewery would like to go... and we hope it is Regional or National because the beer is GREAT!! It is a must see when you are in Golden... and do me a favor... talk management into putting up some sandwich boards so people can find the place... it is Goldens Best Kept Secret!! Thanks and look forward to seeing you grow! Paul and Chris

OMG! Phenomenal beers, but you hope for that if a brewery had been around for 23 years. Every beer is extremely well crafted and my favorite in Golden, which is hard because cannon ball creak is in golden too. GCB seems to be entering the next level of consistent quality that you only get with experienced brewers and big breweries that can afford lab testing. I just saw the new remodel. Finally GCB is in the 21st century.. by which i am referring to the bathrooms. lol Competition has been good for them.

Dee must have gone somewhere else. This is not a restaurant, just an awesome out-of-the-way beer garden with fantastic beer, local music every now and then and laid back attitude. There is no wait service, just a window to order your frosty cold malty goodness. I dont even think they have meatball sandwiches. Just pretzels & mustard and a frozen pizza if you really need something with more substance. Gotta go if you want great beer and no attitude. Bring the dog.

Had the flight of 6 beers - the Evolution IPA and seasonal Mashing Pumpkins were exceptionally good. Although they offer food, its microwaved pretzels and brats for cheap. If youre looking for a full meal, go elsewhere. But if youre looking for a few really good rounds with friends outside in the garden (or in the very tiny inside area), then give it a go. Besides, the prices are cheap & the staff are friendly!

I had an awesome time at GCB on a whim. No frills is exactly correct, but the atmosphere and clientele were absolutely awesome. Great beers, an outside fire pit and a personal tour of the brewery while they were making the IPA. Can you say Lucky? What a wonderful surprise. Dont miss an opportunity to get a REAL brewery tour at the Golden City Brewery. Awesome people!

Awesome little brewery tucked away in a neighborhood in Golden. Its become a staple for my wife and me after our hikes in the front range. Dog friendly, outdoor-beer-garden style. There are few places Id rather enjoy a beer after a hike. It does get a bit crowded in the summer, but as long as youre willing to make friends weve never not been able to find a seat.

Just reading about the place makes me yearn for their Golden Pale Ale. Its truly a nectar of the Gods. If you are in town this is a must visit from location. We stumbled across it by accident and it was the best part of our trip. No frill, its all about the beer. A great place for pre Red Rocks festivities. Larry from Chicago.

We had planned to go do the Coors tour but the wait for the shuttle was over an hour. A trip to Golden City Brewery instead was a great choice. Their patio is small but comfortable. Very dog friendly. I enjoyed quite a few of their craft brews. Definitely worth the stop if you want a few tasty beers and to relax in the sun.

Good brewery, I like that they also have wine and cider (although the cider is expensive and comes in a small glass). The location is very dog friendly, they have a side window so you dont need to go inside. Its a little more low key and quiet than some of the other breweries in town, if thats your thing go for it!

Golden City Brewery is in the historic neighborhood of Golden and is not only tasty beer, but good local atmosphere. This is certainly a place best visited during the summer when you can enjoy the beer garden and play some cards with your tasty GCB beer. Some of the local bars have GCB on tap (like Woodys and TMI).

The brew is good. Very good! But this is not a brewpub. Started by two CSM grads (read: homegrown Golden boys) and usually staffed by two people, the service can back up a bit, but it is well worth it. Great place to just go and hang out on a nice day after a ride up Lookout Mtn.

This place used to be one of our favorite stops in Golden for craft beer. But they havent updated their selection in all the years weve been going, and its gotten pretty stale. Their beer garden is nice, but you can find better beer selection at the other places in town.
