Fun place for younger kids, interesting variety of animals to look at! It is not a petting zoo, but you can toss food to them. There are multiple play areas with different swings and jungle gyms, and easy parking. Good spot to pack a lunch and have an afternoon with the kids. Wish some of the bird enclosures were larger, but the animals do look healthy.

I recommend going prepared with fresh fruit and veggies to feed to the animals. They sell bags of animal feed for $1 a bag, and you get a sufficient amount but its very messy. I highly recommend bringing baby wipes and hand sanitizer to clean hands after feeding the animals. Great place to see variety of animals and spend time outdoors.

This is a nice place to go to and relax. You can feed the animals if you want or you can just walk around. I like this place because it is not too crowded and the animals seem to be happy and taken care off. The park is nice and walking there is always a very calming thing to do.

A small zombie in the middle of the park. There are alot of birds: chickens, ducks, geese, Turkey, quail, peacocks. There are alot of small animals like goats, raccoons, and a few large animals like a donkey, horse, and deer.

The animals look malnourished and neglected. It could be beautiful but looks like not much funding go into the up keep. Its easy to walk around with toddlers as ita by the water and two playgrounds. Free parking too.

Not really a petting zoo. We call it a feeding zoo. Patrons can bring food from home to feed to sheep, goats, pigs, deer and horses. There are nice childrens parks walking distance, so you can easily make a day of it.

Johnson Park is right off rt. 287 in New Brunswick, across the Raritan. From Rutgers University. The zoo is small, but its free and rarely crowded. Its a nice place to take the family.

Not the best free zoo compared to Cape May Zoo. There are goats, pigs, peacocks, dear, horses, alpacas, a llama, a fox, and a raccoon. However, the park is huge and very nice.

Its a good petting zoo. Toddlers and kids can enjoy for couple of hours. There is a play area adjacent to it and park benches are around to eat and relax.
