The staff here has little to no knowledge about the animals that are in stock -- especially in the reptile section. They sold my boyfriend a tarantula and claimed to have no idea if it was a male or female. When he brought it home, I told him it was a male (I have extensive knowledge on a myriad of animal species and could run this store by MYSELF.) It was an older male, and it lasted maybe a week before expiring from old age. This is not a store that gives refunds and they know that theyre selling you a poor product or specimen. I guarantee you that they knew this tarantula had been sitting in that store for X amount of years and were simply looking to turn a profit on something that they were going to have to throw out soon anyway. I also went back to that store to get crickets before my boyfriends tarantula had passed and saw some of their slings (baby tarantulas) in containers dead. Their reptiles were poorly taken care of, and it looks like theyre attempting to give it an aesthetic upgrade to make you think that they care by moving some of their reptiles into Exo Terras. Please buy from a reputable breeder. There are many breeders online. This store is a huge rip off and you will find better deals online -- you will pay $60 or more for a tarantula here, when that specimen may only cost $15-25 plus $25-30 live arrival guaranteed shipping. You can buy multiple tarantulas or reptiles online and pay a flat rate shipping (only pay the shipping once whether you purchase a dozen animals or one animal.) Its a much better deal, youre guaranteed a better product/specimen and you wont feel ripped off.

Used to be a destination spot for me and my wife. Last time there i was seriously considering a major bird purchase. During that time the avary was a mess, with clipped feathers on the floor the entire visit and staff that could not answer questions in a friendly manner (green haired girl featured on the landing page here) and occupied cages dropped on top of another. A pair of teals were being harassed by other birds to the point that they were bald on the back of their heads. I made it known that I was interested in a purchase and not one employee approached me. Theres NO way that I am dropping $2500+ without observing how the bird interacted with my family, so we interacted with it and not the staff. The only interaction we had with the staff during that time was instructions to "not touch the bird, play with her and her toys but dont touch the bird". Shortly after we were asked to leave because we were reaching into the a vary. Im sorry, but I was obviously interested in Gem, and had been there numerous times to visit and observe her before. A little human interaction goes a long way. I hope Gem finds a good home.

Younger male with facial piercings was rather rude. I had bought two light bulbs over the weekend. I did not check in store when they gave them to me because I expected them to know the proper light bulbs for the various animals. Silly me for also thinking that they the difference between a reptile and amphibian. So one light bulb was for desert reptiles, when I needed it for tropical amphibian. The second light bulb did not work. I went to return the one that was wrong and replace the one that did not work. I received so much attitude and he tried everything to prevent doing the exchange and refund. He finally did it, then after he gave me the correct bulb told me that this one is not guaranteed because it is a replacement. I have receipt and the card from the original purchase. I can just imagine how it would have been if I didnt. It was only 3 days from original purchase until I made it back for the exchange. Seriously could used some customer service skills. I do not planning on returning. It isnt anything I cant just order offline going forward.

Its a pity that this seems to be the main pet store in Lebanon because they are horrible. Their reptile supplies are seriously lacking and what they do have in stock is severely overpriced. Their reptiles are not properly cared for and they dont care because all they want to do is turn a profit. They dont properly feed or house them and the staff seems to know next to nothing about them. As a reptile enthusiast its hard to walk into the store to see these animals in the poor conditions they are in. Almost all of their fish tanks have dead fish in them and a lot of them look dirty. I suspect this is because they simply dont care. There service leaves much to be desired as they are extremely slow and dont listen to what you are asking. They give horrible advice and again dont seem to even remotely care. I wont be shopping here anymore, I would rather spend the money on gas driving to Concord for pet supplies.

Went into store on Thursday to purchase a fish tank for my granddaughter. Got it home and realized how inferior a product that was sold to me. Went in on Saturday to return the item and get my money back and was told that aquariums were not returnable. Clerk pointed to a sign that was at ceiling level. Guess we are expected to look at the ceiling while shopping. Also, none of the sales people that were checking prices for us made the fact that they were not returnable available to us. I think that probably this is a good store to stay away from. I intend to go back in tomorrow to speak with a manager and if that fails then I will contact the owners of the store to see where that gets me. If all else fails then perhaps the Better Business Bureau will like a phone call.

I recently bought a guinea pig from Lebanon pet and aquarium center. First the service was horrible. They wouldnt even let me hold the little piggie. I bought him anyway. The man gave us bad advise telling us that we could give him rabbit food. I thankfully did not take this advice. Not more than a week after purchase I had to bring my little piggie to the vets where they diagnosed him with an upper respiratory infection, very low weight, and lice. After several visits and medications, which cost over $300, my piggie is all better. I would highly recomend NOT buying any pets or supplies from this business!

Living in the Upper Valley this and the Claremont store are unfortunately the only options. Steves is great, but has limited supplies of things. The staff at the Lebanon and Claremont stores try to be helpful but usually do not have a clue what they are talking about. I actually had a salesperson in the fish department tell me he couldnt sell the fish because he couldnt catch it. Its too bad the owners arent around more, because the stores are going downhill fast. I now drive all the way to Plymouth to get all my supplies. The prices are much less. The fish room is amazing and the staff is very helpful.

Rude and aloof staff have kept me from being able to continue doing business here. Even when I am the only customer in there I wait at least five minutes for them to retrieve me frozen rodents. The downstairs staff is always too busy talking to each other or looking tough to say hello and offer any help. But that their limited knowledge is much help... I will be buying my pet needs online: its cheaper, the fish are healthier even after being shipped, the selection is better, and you dont have to deal with the high school staff.
