The Music Hall is wheelchair accessible with a ramp down to the bar and an elevator to the main floor. Be aware that the elevator is very small and they require a staff member to ride along to operate it. It was just big enough for my manual wheelchair and the employee. Handicapped seating is the open space between the first row and the stage to right and left of center. Youll have to stay in your chair and they will provide folding chairs for friend/family. We fit 4 people, 2 wheelchairs and it was a little snug. You will block the view of those sitting in the 1st row, fyi. If you can transfer out of your chair Id recommend calling ahead to book a first row seat. The walk way down to the stage if very steep, if need help with an ada ramp you will definitely need help here. Staff is great and will do what they can to assist.

I was really blown away when I went to my first show here! The theater is so beautiful, almost like a Boston-style theater. There are great drink and snack options that you can take into the theater. The staff are very helpful. I will say that you should pay attention to the warnings about obstructed views when you get tickets, though! We were on the right side of the stage in the balcony, which pretty much completely obstructs the view on the right side of the stage, so we missed some great bits of dancing during the show. If seeing the whole show is crucial for you, buy seats in the center!

Ive been seeing shows "bands" well back into the 90s. The sound is ALWAYS incredible since its an "actual" acoustically designed theatre! Even as a kid back into the mid/late 70s I was lucky to have seen movies here. This past Saturday we caught Trey Anastasio (Phish), solo and acoustic!! I knew the sound would be through the roof but, WOW!! We were all in for a special treat for sure! An incredible performance but we knew that before we had our tickets! From row N, center....

Great place to see a show whether it is music, theater, a movie or a guest speaker. Plenty of seats, but these days they are bringing in such popular talent that it often sells out. There is also a bar downstairs and Im not sure why Im including this in the review but that bathrooms are like nothing Ive ever seen ... very artistic with waterfall like things. Anyway, great place all around.

Beautiful place. We enjoyed the Portsmouth Symphonic Orchestra Holiday Pops show. I only wish they sold assigned seating since getting to the auditorium was a mess. The foyer is too small to make lines and in the end it doesnt matter if you got there early to get good seats, the people just entering from outside are going in before you.

Beautiful old theater which brings in national acts in an intimate setting, as well as showing independent movies you dont get to see in national chain theaters. A cultural bright spot in seacoast New Hampshire. Im grateful this place is around. Check it out!

Beautiful architecture and space but the temperature control is very uncomfortable. I went in winter and it was extremely hot, I couldnt stop sweating. Also, the seats have barely any legroom. Many great things, some not so great, average experience.

The Portsmouth Music Hall is a gem in the seacoast. The building itself is fabulous- comfortable, classy, inviting. There are so many great movies, shows of all types and you can have cold drink and many great places to eat nearby.

What a beautiful old venue. We saw Sarah Mclachlan solo there and Patty Griffin play there as well. It is very intimate and close no matter where you sit, but there are some sound issues in some spots so get good center seats.

Classic old theatre (with a bar and you can drink in your seats no less). Lots of great off-the-beaten-path shows like Vaud and the Villians and the Capitol Steps. Coolest bathrooms maybe ever. Great location right in town.

Pat Metheny playing with Antonio Sanchez already makes it 5 stars but the building is beautiful and the theater provided fantastic sight lines and sound even from the balcony. Plus so many great restaurants nearby.

This is an amazing theater hidden away downtown. The outside doesnt look like much, but the theater itself is beautiful. Its very cozy, and it seems like there arent really any bad seats.
