Awesome music and comedy venue with a big stage. An old-school place where cash is king (put that card away, unless youre getting money out of the ATM, kid). The hosts of the comedy show, Midway or the Highway, are fantastic. Gabe Stoddard and Angela Sawyer are professional and keep the show moving along well. Five minutes for each performer. Music, poetry, and comedy are all welcome here, though last week, only comedians showed up. In a cool neighborhood in Jamaica Plain. Try it out!

Interesting bar, but be warned, music sometimes played at earsplitting levels. Woke up next morning with impaired hearing in one ear. Bring ear plugs, or stand in far back of bar, if you want your hearing intact. You can also forget about talking with friends while music is being played.

The Midway is possibly the best spot to see live music from the most talented and passionate independent musicians in the region - and beyond. They have wonderful staff, and Ive always felt welcome and at home whether as a guest or a performer.

This the best reason to come to Jamaica Plain...unless you already live here. This place has some of the best live music in the Boston area. Pay no attention to "Food" on the awning--theres definitely nothing to eat here.

Great venue to go to and play in. Terrific and friendly staff. Good facility. Sound guys are always accomodating to needs. Just a great place to go to to have a drink, listen to a band, gather in or as a musician, play in.
