This is a night-and-day experience from a Carmike cinema. The movies are preceded by one or two movie trailers, not a half hour of ads. There is beer and wine available to sip during the film, and the films offered are fantastic. Wonderful atmosphere, this is the theater for me!

The Myrna is a fine venue but the programming sucks. Mostly hipster films and overpriced concerts for obscure musicians. I live two blocks away and can name multiple venues in other cities that I go to more often than the Myrna Loy.

Have a beer and watch an indie flick, or hear some live ethnocentric music. Helena has an amazing arts community and the Myrna Loy is definitely one of the crown jewels.
