Ive been a member in the Windrose PDP program for 10 years, and Ive dealt with the guys there hundreds of times over the years, and Ive never once received anything but the friendliest service. Rude isnt a word Id ever use describe the staff there. As for the course, yes sometimes it got a little rough, but if you have a drought that kills half of the trees in this part of the state, or rain that can go on for weeks its hard to help. Unlike the members-only courses, which are becoming the norm these days, they dont have a dependable dues-based income for maintenance. But given all that, Windrose is the best value of any course in the Houston area. Dont like the pace of play? Try Memorial, or Herman park and plan on at least 6 hours for a round and 2 more to get home, and the price is the same! The good news is that in the last couple of months and this is July 2016, theyve been doing a lot of improvements to the course and clubhouse. Eroded areas are being repaired, the greens and fairways are really coming around and at 7200 yards, if you think the course is too easy, then you should return to the PGA tour and make millions! Play the tips on a windy day and tell me how easy it is! There... I feel better now!

Course is in very good shape, but the same problem they have always had is pace of play. We had a 9:15 AM tee time, get there early and there is a line stacked. Go to the starter and find three groups in front of us. How in the world can this happen unless you are overbooking your start times. We get off and the pace is absolutely terrible. Two members of our foresome had to leave before completing the round because of how long it was taking and any time we would speak to the marshal we got words, but no help. Find out there were two fivesomes in front of us. The round almost took five hours and the pace of play makes it very difficult to get into any real flow of playing. It was this way when I played him 6 months ago in the afternoon, 11 months ago, and in all honestly I have never played a round here around four hours. It just isnt enjoyable anymore and I will just a bit and go to another course where I dont have this problem. Funny thing is both the scorecards and a sign on the carts talks about pace of play and yet this is consistently the slowest course I play on in the Houston area regardless of day or time and it isnt that hard a course.

We had a company party tonight. There was an employee for the windrose club who had short brown hair, (I didnt catch his name) because he cussed us out and kicked us out. It was barely 12 and he was cussing out everyone in our company telling us to "get the f*** out because he had a kid to come home to." FYI, the VAST majority of us have kids to come home to. This isnt a random hole in the wall bar. This is a country club. WE are literally paying this guy to provide service to us. How do I know? I worked for a country club before. Ive never left a bad review before. But I hope the general public can take note of the service of this company and "country club". A REAL country club would NEVER allow this kind of behavior especially after the the amount of money that was paid to hold this few hours company party. Im extremely dissatisfied with the club and its service. DO NOT bother to book anything with this club. Its a waste of money.

Great practice area (driving range, putting green, chipping area). Pros: Course is always in great shape and is tucked into a nice quiet neighborhood. Staff has always been very friendly. Best value in Spring, especially in their twilight times. Cons: They used to have GPS on the carts, but that has been removed. There are not a lot of yardage markers found on the course, which makes things a little unnecessarily challenging. Pace of play has been an issue for as long as I can remember here. Unless you go at the crack of dawn, youre in for a 4.5 - 5 hour round with a lot of time spent standing on the tee box or in the fairway.

It wasnt like the old days when I would play Windrose. They were pretty behind today, but the greens on the front nine were awful. Bumpy, big patches, had not been rolled recently. My friends cart almost died halfway through the front nine and we had to exchange it at the turn. Unfortunately, this was the worst experience I have ever had at Windrose and I have played here over 30 times. I brought my group to Windrose bc I have always enjoyed it. I will not be back at this course again. My friend is a PGM professional and I wanted to show him a good time. He was very disappointed in the quality and even the customer service.

Played this course saturday after 5 inches of rain had fallen the last couple of days....Yes, the fairways were wet, but the greens were still stellar. Plenty of break, firm, and quite a bit of roll even after all that rain. Tee boxes, fairways are becoming nicer all the time. Biggest plus here is the practice area. Chipping, putting, driving range...you name it. Course is challening no matter which tees you use. Wind is the deciding factor, youd better know which way its going or youll end up in some tough spots.

Good course, although the quality of the greens and rough can change dramatically throughout the year. Decent challenge, not too narrow, some water and fairway sand. Can play slowish on the weekends. Good prices, even during peak hours, but a great value for twilight. If you sign up for their email club, you can get (small) discounts - a couple dollars off, a free beer, etc. Pro shop staff is nice. Some of the marshalls can be rather rude though.

Windrose used to have electric carts which worked fine and without fumes. The gasoline carts spew out a choking exhaust. I believe the gasoline powered golf carts need tune-ups. Otherwise, the course is well maintained with 4 sets of tees, good sand in the bunkers, and decently rolling greens. If every patron would fill in their divots, rake the bunkers, and repair their ball marks on the greens, then this course would would be a 4 out of 5.

Great golf course all around. Very well maintained. Top to bottom a very enjoyable round of golf. The staff was friendly, pace of play was great and the course was in as good a condition as you will find at any public course in the area and a lot of private ones too. A couple of birdies and more than a couple of bogies, finished the round in 4:20, give or take. Best round of golf Ive had this year.

Just came from Windrose , and it was great! They have a nice spacious practice range, cool club house and pro shop! I didnt come with a collar shirt and the gentleman behind the desk let me borrow a nice loner shirt. I had my 1 year old daughter and wife with me .. I was afraid someone might tell them something . But it was all smiles, surely coming back!
