My dog found a baby bird that fell out of a tree and snagged it right up and started going at it like a chew toy. It was bleeding everywhere and I thought the bird was dying. It seemed calm and responsive by the time I got to the Nature Center and they checked out the bird right away. Actually, there was nothing more than bruising and a pulled feather that has blood vessels behind it (cause for the bleeding). They explained what I needed to do to assure that wouldnt happen again. I had never been there so my 5 year old babysittee and I walked around and learned all kinds of new things in our short stay before we took the bird home and released it. If the nature center wasnt so far south of where we live I would try to attend all of their different classes and volunteer opportunities. This place is truly amazing.

This is a nice little free exhibit for younger kids. They also take in rescued wildlife to treat/rehabilitate here. They have some nice hiking trails in back and its very well laid out. Im only giving it 3 stars today because whomever they had wash their windows, did a terrible job. I wanted to take pictures of the eagles out the windiws, but the windows were so streaked it was hard to get a good picture. Still a nice place though and very quiet/peaceful.

So many neat animals to visit and watch! I had no idea this nature center was so awesome. Their trails, however, are rather littered (lots of broken glass - something a mom with small kids reeeeaaally hates to have to deal with), but given its fairly urban location I suppose thats not all that surprising. *shrug* Overall, great nature excursion for a very hot or very cold day - can spend a little time outside and the rest of the time exploring the center.

The nature center is great. There just arent enough wildlife care centers, so having one in KC is something I appreciate. They also have interesting exhibits of local wildlife and a few rescued animals that are super interesting to see. The people were friendly, but it was disappointing that there wasnt a way to observe the bird I brought in being inspected. It was a beautiful hawk, the eyes were amazing. I hope they didnt have to euthanize it.

Such a wonderfull organized wild life rescue an associate named jon takes in bats they have a cyote named codi whos imprinted on more than a few care guvers seems sweet. Also a pretty nice selection of owls hawks and buzzards. To help feed the animals and care for them the take donations of specific feeds and cash as well super wonderful family environment they could also use some books. Donate please?

Weve been taking Wildlife to the Center for many years and they always take great care and let us know when they rehabilitate the animal. I highly recommend for any type of Wildlife that needs Rehabilitation. Last year the mama possum died underneath of some rocks in our backyard and we took them eight of those baby possums which were rehabilitated just a few months ago.

Great nature center located in South Kansas City. The trails offer a great experience that includes hills and water crossings. Went a a couple days after rain so we were able to see lots of great animal prints. The inside portion is fantastic. Great exhibits that bring you really close to the animals, including a great bald eagle cage!

Got lost on the hiking trail with my two kids, another woman, and her grandson. That was a mood killer. Other than that, this place is great, free, and has lots of animals to look at. My kids learned a lot and had a blast. We will definitely return, we will avoid the trails.

This time they helped. I took a rabbit there and they accepted. In the past, I called bc of other hurt animals that was found, like birds, and they didnt accept them and they died. Im glad they took this animal.

Found abandon baby squirrel and took it to them. While there, checked out the facility and was impressed. You would swear it should be in the zoo. The zoo needs exhibits like this place.

We had a great time. I took my two nephews (ages 2 and 5) and my two necies ages 11 and 16. We all had a good time. We followed a scavenger hunt. And had an amazing time on the trail!
