We picked up a tee time at about 9pm the night before we wanted to play (a Saturday - and forecasted to be some of the best weather we had seen yet this year, AND on Fathers Day weekend) so we were slightly hesitant. It seems the only courses that have times open then are the sub-par courses that you typically only hit for conveniences sake. Eagle Valley was not that, at all. I would absolutely rank this course in my Top 5 locally. Granted, Ive only played a dozen or so courses (Best being Chaska, second best being Baker, probably) but everything about this course was well maintained and well staffed. Admittedly, both myself and my buddy (Same age - <30) read the Google reviews and were a bit put off by all the mentions of a overzealous Ranger at the first tee. Im quite confident this is the same guy we ran into at the first box, and again by the 5th hole, and again by the 9th hole. That said, did he ever rush us? NO! He was more than accommodating, was willing to make recommendations on shots when asked, and seemingly just wanted to ensure people are filling their divots and keeping pace. Some of you might call that Harassing, but once you get to the course and see the quality of it, youll understand that having someone like that can go a LONG way. We never once felt like he was doing anything other than his job, and in fact, doing it quite well. I didnt even realize until after we finished up, but theyre apparently the sponsor for the Beyond the Pond podcast on KFAN, too? Favorite segment on my favorite radio station and have an amazing course to boot? You can bet Ill be back. 5/5, easily. Dont let the other comments about rangers fool you. Keep up pace, replace divots, and play responsibly (You know... Like youre SUPPOSED to) and youll feel the same way I do.

I thought the course was in great shape. The greens were great, tee boxes were immaculate, and the rough was challenging. The overall layout of the course is really cool with a lot of elevated greens and challenging and rewarding shots. However, i personally thought the staff was rather pushy. The guy at the first tee box was giving us grief because we didnt save our receipts to show him and made a much bigger deal than what it was. Next, the staff kept a close eye on everyone and constantly was checking up with all the groups which was rather annoying. It almost felt like they were trying to catch you doing something wrong. Let people play the game without interrupting them.

Eagle Valley is a nice track with an interesting variety of holes. The greens are well maintained, roll smoothly, and are plenty fast. The back 9, in my opinion, is more enjoyable than the front. There are really only two drawbacks to Eagle Valley. First, the only par 5 on the front 9 is the 1st hole. So, you better be ready to hit a good drive on your first swing of the round if you want to take advantage of it. Second, the green on the 4th hole is really shallow from front to back. If your shot in was a 9-iron or wedge that would be fine, but its typically more in the 5-7 iron range. All in all, Eagle Valley is a fair test of golf and an interesting walk or ride.

This is my home course, playing every week. Staff is nice, instructors are very good. The facilities are ok, and the course is well taken care of, even with ocassional brown patches in fairways. But what makes this course a 4, or 3.5 of 5 is that you just cant make more of the layout, just too easy, flat greens (not even 1 notably inclined), and because of all the conveniences including price, the weekend crowd. Is the classic course good to have a practice round before an important game in upscale course with the boss.

Have not had one bad experience the past 10 times Ive played this course. The staff has never made me feel anything other than welcome. Maybe some of the previous reviewers should learn how to golf, before holding others up. The Rangers have never been on me about any sort of slow play. This is not my home course but will always come back here when Im in Woodbury. The course is well maintained. IMO better than Troy Burne where you can pay twice the green fee.

This is a golf course that truly believes they are living in the 80s when golf was popular. A party of 3 golfers ranging from scratch to bogey players being rushed by retirees. I feel for the homeowners along with the Woodbury tax payers who are being fleeced by this overrated & what eventually will be yet another doomed golf course.

The course is in great shape. Extreamly friendly staff. This course offers a lot for someone who wants to feel the big time show for a reasonable price. If I could suggest one thing. Keep the local favorites or kids from rushing golfers in front of them so we can have the best experience possible.

I have been playing this course since 2004 and this was by worst shape I have ever seen it. Greens were full of divots, were very dry, and putts did not turn. The rough was very long and the bunkers were full of rocks. Im a big fan of this course but hoping for improved conditions next time!

This golf course is poorly managed. They let people tee off every 5 minutes then come out and tell you to pick up your pace. I dont pay $60 a round to feel rushed and not enjoy my experience. I will not be coming back here.

One of the nicer local public courses and a great place to bring group golf events. Great practice facility too with junior programs available. Nice to see a facility promoting youth golf.

Well groomed, sadly had to experience the bunkers, but they are well maintained. Price/value is very high. Good people too.
