Really good golf course! We played 78 holes on a beautiful August day! The greens are excellent and very challenging. The lay-out is very fair. My buddy and I are both low handicap players and played the tips ALL day. Greens 9/10 ( many divots NOT fixed). Speed was perfect. Good shots held. Tees-Good sight-lines and well kept! Fairways-Very generous! More people need to use the seed and NOT replace the divot. # 12 was the only real demanding tee shot (into the wind over water) on the par 4s. You would like to hit solid t-shots on # 5, 12, 13, 15, 16, 18 Grounds crew did/do a wonderful job! There are A LOT of bunkers/sand and they were rakes (many by hand)! You can tell they have pride in their work. Very friendly and helpful too! Food-Turkey sandwich tasted great! Water was provided on the course (water bottles in coolers), but ran out about 3:30 :( Play was very quick in the morning (finished 36 holes by 1:00). The 3rd round was a bit ridiculous! Many groups jumped in front of multiple groups. No ranger out there. 18 holes took over 5 hrs! Back 9 was 3+ hours! Last round was played with helpful members who loved to play fast! I-94 can be heard, but has ZERO impact on your game! If you want a challenge to see where your game is go there and play. You need to hit quality shots. Need to have your mental game sharp, esp. around the greens! Thank you StoneRidge, Stillwater, and Minnesota! We will return for more!

Showed up to play a quick 18 during a weekday. Its a ghost town. I looked at the web the night before and tried to make a tee time for a single. The website showed only 2-4 players can make a tee time at $53 walking. So I show up and ask to get out assuming the same $53 rate on the website. $79. Weekday. I ask about the $53 on the web and they say its only for 2 or more. Weak. Theres nobody even there. So I paid $26 more to play than I thought I would. I wish I hadnt. Course is in great shape, greens are perfect. Just too much local knowledge is needed to play well. There is no birds-eye view of the course on the card. So you dont know the routing of the holes or the hidden hazards. After the 5th bunker I hit into that I thought was the middle of the fairway, I had to get my phone out and use Google Earth to plot my way around the rest of the course. I dont know of any other course Ive HAD to do that. Itd be more fun to play the next time I think now that I know the routing a bit better. Not at $79 though. I could play Loggers Trail twice for that money. $50? I might give it another try. Again, great conditions, lots of hidden trouble, and expensive for the area. Make your tee time on the website or you may be in for a surprise at the desk.

This course is just okay. Staff is unfriendly. Course is in decent shape when its not within a few weeks of aeration. Layout is very difficult, especially if its windy. Fairways are like cement which is usually a good thing, but it seems overly exaggerated here and really cheapens the experience. If Im paying almost $100 for a round, I expect a fair challenge, and this course does not provide that. Troy Burne has a similar layout in that its a links style course and a similar price, but its kept in far better shape and has a much better layout.

Is a great links course. The highway is not a factor, and greens are very well maintained. Staff is always professional and courteous. My only down opinion is that they dont open for the general public until close to 8am as they give the first hour to the members, so you cant play a quick 9 before starting your work for the day. Unless you have a membership. But the course is very challenging, I usually shoot 6 or 7 more shots than my usual.

Nice course. I have never ran a marathon before but I could walk 26 miles before I finished 18 holes riding in cart at this course. Pace of play is BRUTAL! $92 to play 5 1/2 hrs. If you like sitting around on the golf course play it.
