I am livid. We knew we would be gone for 8 days so were looking at a way to feed our fish while we were gone. It is a 26 gallon that is fully cycled tank, I have a testing kit and have tested the levels myself, which were fine before we left and are still fine now. We were told to buy a time release gel fish food, highly recommended by the staff, given the duration of our leave and our tank specifics. When we got back two of our gouramis were dead, one rotting on the filter like it had been dead for days and one just having died right underneath the food block. The other two gouramis we have look almost dead, one of them might still die. The other fish all look terrible like theyve been starving to death for days. When I called to ask if we would be compensated for this I was told that "I find it hard to believe it was the food" can you believe that? The nerve! When I told him I had checked the water and that all of our fish are doing much better since we got home with the only variable that could possibly explain what happened being the food he argued with me and treated me like an idiot. We have spent hundreds of dollars in this store and thats how were treated? I see a lot of good reviews on here, but honestly they just want you to walk out of the door with something they dont care if they sell you a crappy product.

Being generous with this one star. Started out looking for a specific fish (flowerhorn) called them and guy says they have a one. Drive an hour away to go get it. theyre very nice at the time but charged 135$ for the fish. Kinda high. Also didnt look exactly like a flowerhorn. It wasnt. It was a Midas and they admitted to knowing that when I called to complain. A month goes by and this fish will NOT EAT ANYTHING. Called back to get an even trade.. Fish for fish.. and the first guy that answered has obviously never had a customer service job. He was extremely rude about the whole situation saying no to a refund and laughing at me multiple times for asking for his boss or a higher up person. I really didnt find it funny. Finally puts his boss on and he was sort of understanding. Only offered me 50$ back and the other fish was the same 135$ price.. Really? And I also had to agree to his time to bring it back. Got off the phone and felt like Im just being screwed over bad. Did some shopping around. Ended up going to a different store where they have the same fish for 45$.. Seriously.. The guy even offered 30$ for my Midas.. Never going to this store again and telling everyone how OVERPRICED and UNPROFESSIONAL they are.

Apparently have to rate to write.. being generous.. First time I went in there, I fell in love with a big, red angel fish. They were very nice, took our name down as it was not ready to be sold yet. Got her on a friday. We have a variety of other fish and our other 3 angels are thriving. Paid $75 total for her and when we bought her we were told by the owner we had a 10 day warranty. Great, right? Evidently not. Tried to take her back because she wasnt acting right when we got her, figured she was being timid, as Ive seen before, so gave it a few days. Today (monday) she was at the bottom of the tank, barely alive. All of my other fish are perfectly fine, tank is on par with all the chemical levels. $25 in store credit was all they would do. I dont ever want to even go back in there. You want a fish store with amazing fish, prices, staff-- a world of fish is 7 mins away and they are fantastic. Far more knowledgeable and dont completely screw you!

Ive been to Aqualand a few times, I even have their stamp card, but they have really crossed the line for me. I can get it if they dont know how to keep saltwater, their freshwater selection is indeed phenomenal, albeit every tank is definitely overstocked. But when I saw that 50 gallon tank with about 60-70 male bettas TOGETHER I knew that was my last visit. Half of these fish were exhausted and did not show any ambition or strength to be able to reach the surface to breathe. The others were chasing and fighting, trademark Betta splendens "Fighting Fish." For a store so well diversified in the freshwater field separating Bettas should be elementary. So Im sorry Aqualand, but Im done. Im tearing up my stamp card.

I was looking for an alternative to Petco and the like and saw Aqualand and thought I would check it out. What a fantastic store. I went in and had all of my questions answered by David. He was one of the best people I have dealt with in a long time in regards to customer service. David helped me with all my questions since I am pretty new to fish keeping. He showed me what live plants would work best to start off and was very knowledgeable once I explained my set up. He also told me to wait until my aquarium is more set up before moving into more sensitive fish. He didnt try to sell me fish just to make the sale. He seemed to genuinely care that my fish would thrive. Bottom line is I will absolutely shop there again.

The best service and most comprehensive store in this area!!! The staff is amazing and inteligent and hard working! The owner works his --- off to make aquariums the beast in the country not just in the area. John is smart and knows how to set up and maintain an aquarium and knows how to make the most beautiful aquariums around! The service could not be better and the fish are healthy and worth every penny. I and my mother could not be happier with the level of service and professionalism with john and his store!!! Have nothing bad to say in over five years of him servicing our aquariums. You couls not go wrong with Aqualand!!!!!

I cant even begin to say how great this store and its staff are. I called Aqualand on a Sunday night about 5 minutes before they were scheduled to close to see if they would be able to help me with a situation I was having with my tank. The employee and manager both said they would help me out, and even waited for me to drive there. Aqualand is a beautiful store that really sets that open atmosphere. They take GREAT care of their animals and are extremely knowledgable about their business. I will never step foot in any other aquarium supply store ever again. Thanks Aqualand!

I accompanied my 10-year old nephew to buy new fish for his aquarium. The staff at Aqualand were not only helpful but spoke directly to my nephew about his choices. They clearly enjoy their jobs as I was unable to answer a few questions, they assured me, "We do this for fun - no need to get too excited about anything." We left with 3 new kinds of fish and a happy kid who was delighted to show me around the store. Thanks to the staff for loving your jobs and knowing your stuff.
