I have been to the theater at least four times now and I am trying to avoid going after some rather challenging experiences... 1. Went to see the new Robo-Cop, the movie was so loud I had to plug my ears through most of the film as I felt I was going to lose my hearing. When I reported the issue I was told that the "Amps were set automatically and could not be adjusted", nope sorry I worked in a theater before and I know that is not the case. 2. Went to see Iron Man, but when showing up at the theater, we were told that the theater was "oversold"... ummm... k... When asking why we cannot just sit up top in the section marked "reserved" which was for the uber seating (empty 50+ seats) which they should have let us do since they effed up in the first place, they stated "Sorry we cannot do that, you have to pay an additional $30 to sit up there. Umm, yeah... No thanks... I was then provided some BS that they could not accommodate my purchase of the ticket so they re-funded me. I then had to spend another 60min to find a different theater near by which was showing the same movie as I had plans with friends that evening who were visiting from out of town, in the end I had to drive to Lakeville due to poor management at this theater. 3. Went to the theater again, and this time I was stuck to the floor, with little kids in a mature rated film which were talking and some were crying in the middle of it, kids were kicking the backs of the chairs etc.... After I reported the issue, I never saw an usher throughout the entire film which was rather disappointing. 4. The only saving grace which has made me question going back was when I went to see a movie with my father. The show was good, the floor was clean the volume was ok as I was not getting blown to the back wall of the theater and we were able to get in without issues as we had purchased our tickets online like in (part 1) only the movie was not oversold. The theater is now also installing new recliners which has me intrigued as it seems that they could be in competition with the Rosemount theater, either way I am willing to give the theater more chances but it is going to take quite a bit to fix my bad experiences past so if you are headed here you are rolling the dice.

Not too shabby. a ticket for a 2D showing at 10:20 is relatively cheap compared to most places Ive been to. A decent array of snacks are offered. They dont offer everything under the sun like some of the newer theaters but Im happy with my mozzarella sticks and fries. The snacks are just as overpriced as any other theater, and I dont know why people bother complaining about the prices of snacks in theaters. Something like that is to be expected. The building is very nice both inside and out. I sat down in a leather recliner in Auditorium 12 to watch Spider-Man: Homecoming again and it was one of the nicest auditoriums I have been in. I was looking around and couldnt find anything wrong with this theater until the projector turned on. Dont get me wrong the picture quality is great. along with the audio quality. The projector used Sony 4K and the screen itself was pristine with no blemishes. But... Some bonehead dropped the ball when designing the layout of the room and now there is a railing near an emergency exit that protrudes into view of the bottom left corner of the screen. Ive only been in Auditorium 12 so I cant vouch for the other auditoriums. And as I imagine Im sure the theater will do nothing to rectify this mistake in construction. So just a heads up if your movie is an auditorium 12 expect to see a guard railing in the bottom left corner of your screen. It doesnt completely ruin the experience but it is kind of annoying that they would let something like that happen. You would think that they would make sure nothing blocks your view of a screen in a movie theater as projecting moving images onto it for your entertainment is supposed to be their sole purpose for business. Its just a small reminder that movie theaters are more concerned with selling you overpriced food than making sure your viewing experience is up to par. This theater gets away with it because its relatively new and the interior is very nice and hasnt had time for anything to degrade or breakdown.

I used to love this theater, the big chairs, the cool lobby with the Greek/Roman god statues etc....I was glad I had discovered the place for it made going to movies fun again despite the high prices. But, last Saturday I discovered that they had now implemented assign seating. Since I was a little boy, the rule had been come early to get a good seat....that alone put me off. Yet more was to follow. They have a policy where if you buy a large popcorn, you get a free refill. Well, when I tried to get back into the showing I was stopped by two young men demanding that I show them my tickets. I had already showed somebody my ticket when I entered the common area so I thought (and I have been going to the Paragon for several years and it had not been an issue before). When I told them my wife had my tickets and was in her assigned seat, they still would not let me in...I was about ready to call the police when finally the taller of the two condescended to follow me in and check out my story...so since we were sitting in the back (only assigned seats available...according to the computer) every one saw the movie attendant following me like I was criminal. Finally, after the attendant had left, the movie was late....the movie was supposed to start at 7:15 PM. From about 7:13 to 7:27 PM the movie screen only showed some wordings about "Front and Center". Last words, regarding the assigned seating when we arrived about 45 minutes early the screen showing the available seats showed that the movie was going to be packed...but that was not the case at all. I dont know if it was trick to fool people to take seats in the back to make it easier for stragglers to find a seat quickly or if there is a master plan to begin to charge people like they do for sporting events where prices are determined by seat location. For me, I am done with the Paragon and if AMC is planning to drop general admission pricing/seating for watching a movie, I am done going to movies for good.

6/30/15 Great movie and great recliner seating, but buyer beware of the service at the concession stand. I ordered a kids popcorn tray, and then noticed the attendant handle the money, wipe the palm of his hand across his face and through his hair. He was literally dripping sweat. Next, he walked away from the register, wiped his dripping face again, and picked up the popcorn scooper to fill my order. The scooper was sitting on top of the popcorn, so how much personal sweat and germs has that load of popcorn (sitting under a warming light) soaked up during his shift? This was very gross. I tossed my popcorn out, washed my hands and watched the movie. Afterwards, I spoke with a manager and described the situation. She listened to me, asked me if I had any other complaints. I said no, and didnt have it in me today to even suggest she should refund my purchase. But - in any successful food venue - a person shouldnt have to ask. This would have been common courtesy; and - if I was managing the place - I would have gone beyond that to avoid this kind of publicity. I wish I would have stayed to watch to see if they threw out the sweaty popcorn and cleaned the machine. Sadly, I highly doubt it because the manager didnt bother to ask me which machine he had taken the popcorn from. I want this theatre to continue being successful because it is a neighborhood business. Come on gang - step it up! Youre being watched.
