For many years my family has been going to this theater and we have thoroughly enjoyed all the movies we have seen. This past holiday weekend Jan 2, 2015 we went to see Gone Girl and experienced an incredibly dim image with no contrast on the screen. We were straining to watch the movie and received head aches. We asked twice to have it corrected and the young manager answered we have done all we can and it is fine...and offered no apology or reimbursement. The next day we went to another theater in S Minneapolis, the Riverview. Same film Gone Girl and everything was fine and we completed watching the film which was great! We were very disappointed with the response of the staff at the Hopkins Theater. And we confirmed we were not crazy but still wonder why a theater filled with movie goers stayed to watch a DIM movie!

The theatre itself is just fine! The workers now thats another story. I went yesterday to an early movie-it was at 12:00. None of the workers were the least bit friendly. I went to get popcorn and it wasnt even started yet. So I stood there picked out something else and the guy ignored me and kept doing the register! So I ended up going to their vending machine! Which was great that I saved money-also the worker made a snarky comment that all the candy displays were the same!! Which was ironic to me since he refused to let me purchase any!! Will go back but bring my own snacks in my purse!

It is so great that there is a theater that offers an incredibly cheap price to see movies that are "old." It is a great way to still see a movie. That being said, this week, there are 4 out of the 7 movies showing are all rated R. I think that is a shame when that is over 50% of the choice. Yes, there are a few that would qualify as family movies, but 4 out of the 7? I think that the owners/management can make better choices and draw families and others who done want to watch R rated movies to their theater. For that reason, I cannot give it a 5 star rating!

Movies are about $2.50-$3.00 here, how awesome is that?! Its your basic theater, no reclining seats, but you get to see cheap movies! Im in love! Free parking in the huge lot behind the theater. Bathrooms (at least the females) is clean and huge. Since I love gift cards, I got one for Christmas and how often can you say you and a friend can see FOUR movies, for $25. Heck, if ONE PERSON sees ONE movie at a regular theater, I think its a minimum of $6.50! I dont usually buy concessions here, but I know it supports the movie theater.

The tickets and concessions are priced absolutely right. Some other reviewers claim that this theater only shows movies that are "on DVD", but that is incorrect. The majority of films here have completed their runs in most theaters and are still months away from being released on home video or on demand. It is the perfect place for families. You can catch movies on the big screen and not break the bank. Its our favorite place to go. Maybe someday I will be lucky enough to have one of my movies screen here...

Good for a cheap movie theater, tickets are $3 I thin? Sometimes the screens arent in perfect shape and the sound systems are lacking compared to my favorite theaters, but you can catch movies you missed for cheaper than a rental and enjoy them with a crowd. Lots of Senior Citizens frequent the place and they are usually good about not talking or being disruptive, and its always fun to give a film a standing ovation! Seats are not stadium quality but comfy. Also I like Mann and hate AMC.

Old retro theater. Tickets are an amazing price. Play movies after the main theaters are done showing them so you wont find the latest blockbuster... but the one from 3 months ago is probably showing here. Seriously tickets are so cheap. The Slushee was on point. The theater itself is a little 90s and the seats didnt have much cushion left in them but its worth it.

Ive been going to this theater for years, and Im not going to lie, it is great. Cheap and clean. However, many of the workers ignore customers and are busy talking. The screens are not always good, and my son has lost me some money in thier suposebly "working" claw and ski ball machines. Go there if youre looking for cheep, but dont go if you hate bad service.

I love the Hopkins 6! My son loving referred to it as "the cheap theater" for many years as in "Can we go to the...". Why pay more to see a movie when you can have a great experience for less? The Hopkins 6 offers a clean, friendly, comfortable environment in downtown Hopkins that provides free parking. I highly recommend it.

Its ok. I liked the prices. The staff was a little distant and they were over staffed so workers were just hanging out. They were polite for the most part though. It was messy and the theatre room itself had trash in it and some lights on the walls were out. I still liked the place and the movie it self was great.

Movies showing on this theater are either just out on DVD. The ticket price is priced right and it is a good way to watch a movie on the big screen. Even the price of the popcorn and treats are reasonable. If you are a senior citizen and if you go to the theater on senior day the price is even better.

When I heard about this place and how cheap it is, I figured the theater would be gross. Nope! Its rather nice considering youre only paying a few dollars to see a movie. If you like seeing movies in the theater but dont feel the need to go right when they come out, then this place is perfect for you.

If you like the movies they are showing, the prices cant be beat. The movies usually have just gone to DVD when they get them, but its a cheap way to see a movie again or see one on the big screen instead of DVD. Quality is usually good, unlike some inexpensive theaters that have wore out films.

This theater is a great value for films. However, on my last visit I waited at the the concession stand for about a minute. Neither of the employees working even looked at me. They were busy filling ice and talking to each other. I decided to skip the popcorn after that rudeness.

I enjoy the movies that this theater shows and the prices that are charged. Great location on the Main Street. What I dont like is the price of the young at heart if a bottle of water is $3.75 and you would like to buy the water instead of soft drink that comes with the popcorn..

Reasonably priced so that you dont spend a ton just on a movie. It is clean and the people are friendly! Really enjoy coming here for a date night and then going someplace for dinner afterwards without feeling like you just spent $100 for a night out.

Love this place. Family of 4 can see a movie with great sound, picture, comfortable seats in a clean environment for for $20 including concessions. You might even have some money left over. My kids are still small so we do share drinks and popcorn.
