It started life a long time ago, now its a 2 theater multiplex. The individual theaters are microscopic: only 6 rows; intimate, which is fine if you go on a date like I did, but for the full cinematic experience? Not so much. Its like watching a movie in some rich guys home theater: the screen is so small you should bring binoculars and sit in the last row to get a full cinescope experience. The sound quality is distorted and tinny. In this day of mass food consumption, the Wayne is taking the hot tub time machine back to a fairly minimal (in comparison to almost everyone else) refreshment offering. The lobby has adorable murals splashed all over the walls. Being a movie junkie, I cant resist the temptation of continually going back, so even though Phoenixs version of the old State is probably worse than the original, Ive been there, done that, quite a few times, and probably will again.

State Wayne has been open my whole life. I will always go there first. Even thought the prices have gone up a bit, it is still a little cheaper than other local shows, consession is cheaper as well. The new owners have kept with the original feel of the theater and really like that they kept "Puff," would of been a good idea to keep the cry rooms. Things I would like to see changed are ** Have ticket sales separate from the consession. If there is a long line for snacks, you have to stand in that long line even if you arent wanting to buy anything else. "Reopen the front window for Ticket Sales Only"!!! Also, the seats, even though they have been redone, more comfortable seats would be nice.

Had VIP passes, and went to see 9:00 PM showing of The Interview, Xmas Weekend. Terrible movie. Whats all the fuss about? Got there at 8:40 and had to stand for 25 minutes with a crowd of piss off people in the lobby. Then they started letting in about 8 people at a time. Ridiculous. I blame this on the management, not the clueless kids they have working there. Felt like a cattle car. All they needed were the cattle prongs. On the plus side. The recliners are nice. I wonder how long thatll last.

Just saw the movie Logan here today at the 9AM Showing and let me just say I really like this theater sound was perfect I could tell that there were no blown speakers Ive been to other theaters where the movie sounds like s*** because of audio equipment that has not been properly taken care of. Popcorn was really good couldnt get enough of it same with the nachos they were really good. The Pop from the fountain drink machine was nice and cold even with ice.

Its not the latest or the greatest but...It is a wonderful experience...For younger people who have never been to anything other than a megaplex this is how it was when you went to see movies at your local neighborhood theater and its truly something special...Its not the most modern but the prices are good and the staff is friendly and over all it just cant be beat unless youre just really into 5 dollar hot dogs and neon sensory overload...

A year ago a friend of mine said lets to the Phoenix Theater in Wayne to see a film and I thought "Wayne?" I was pleasantly surprised how clean the theater was and comfortable the seats are with the new reclining chairs. The prices to see a film are reasonable too and the snack stand prices arent outrageous either. Since then Ive been here to see a number of films.

Phoenix group has figured it out..They have to be really hurting the AMC in Livonia. Seats are awesome. When you look back at 200 people reclining behind you its like a scene from Cocoon, where all these people are space traveling to another planet...and concession prices are very reasonable and well trained staff. Laurel Park has same seating and service.

This is my favorite theatre. The small town feel is the best. Small theatres with reclining seats that are always very clean. The prices are low for tickets ($5 matinee $8 evening) as well as refreshments. Service is excellent, everything is well maintained, and the entire experience is always enjoyable.

Staff is very polite, I love the new seats state Wayne is my favorite theater the only reason I rated them 4 stars rather then 5 is because their movie selection, There are multiple new movies that came out recently and state Wayne did not have them so I had to go to mjr Westland (not the best theater)

The fully reclining chairs alone for the price of the ticket beat out any movie theater within 50 miles of the place. Digital screens, awesome sound quality not to mention the popcorn is out of this planet. I would never go anywhere else if they had more movie selections when big releases come out

My favorite theater. Small, simple, and friendly. Staff is exceptional, screens are not HUGE, but they are great for the size of the theater youre watching the movie in. A few too many commercials prior to movie start, but thats the norm now everywhere it seems.

The place is newly renovated. The viewing rooms are a little small but comfortable and enjoyable. The staff is alternately attentive and hard to find. They are personable and friendly when available. Current running movies. Rare special events.
