Love the waterpark! Hate the employees. June 24, 2017 almost drowning incident. I was minding my own business when a little kid asked me to grab an innertube, so I did and he was underwater for a little bit and at first I thought he was just swimming. He didnt come up after five seconds so I knew something was wrong, he was almost drowning! I grabbed him and he grabbed onto my neck and these lifeguards were on their smart phones and chatting with coworkers while Im screaming "help he cant swim!" I finally got some help from the lifeguards but when I went over there to make sure the little boy was OK they told me "we got this, you can go now bye." Rude. I dont like kids but I wanted to make sure he was alright. Here is a tip: PAY ATTENTION BECAUSE YOU MIGHT BE TOO LATE TO SAVE A KID FROM DROWNING! Get off your damn phones or hire real trained lifeguards not high school teens.

I have been here with my girls 3 times so far this summer and I also walk the lazy river on weeknights 3 times a week. This staff is friendly,But I do think the lifeguards need to pay more attention to children in the wave pool I saw a few kids last time I was there that I think should have at very least been asked if they were okay. I would definitely supervise children directly and not count on the life guards I think because there are so many it may give parents a bit of a false sense of security. The bathrooms and locker rooms are about what I would expect from a place like this, I have seen better but I have also seen much worse There is plenty of shade and sun depending on what you want and something to keep everyone happy from toddlers to adults! Over all its a fun place to spend the day close to home without breaking the bank and we will definitely be going back.

Today was 94 degrees and you would have thought the park would be packed. I couldnt believe the park was maybe half capacity. The attendants were nice and courteous every time we walked in and out. The life guards were watching very closely in the wave pool, they had to pull two people out and did it very swiftly. Lazy river was almost too warm but fun anyways. Had a nice spot under a tree with shade and sun. The only complaint was the Japanese Beetles were out of control they were everywhere, landing on you and your towels. I always bring my own food and drink its the best way to go. Bathrooms were a little messy, probably need clean up crew to go thru them a little more often. Plenty of chairs and tubes. Love coming every year!

Its fun now thatbi am older and can swim. When i was in kindergarten i couldnt swim and i didnt know that the water got so deep. I was doggy paddling when suddenly i couldnt touch the bottom anymore. I tried doggy padfling back to where i could touch but i was so panicked. I was saying help and my head kept going under the water. This one lifeguard nearby just sat there watching me. Eventually an afult helped me get back to the shallow area. I go here a lot with my family and everytime i go i always see a kid about to drown and the lifegaurds do nothing until last minute. WATCH YOUR KIDS DO NOT TAKE THEM UNLESS THEY CAN SWIM OR HAVE A LIFE JACKET THE LIFEGAURDS WONT HELP

Would have gotten 5☆s but they wouldnt let us bring in our big umbrella, nothing ridiculusly big,we werent going to put it in the ground,we were bungy cording/or zip tie it to picinic table. We were at the very top of the Grass hill, you chould have umbrellas at all of them if you wont let us bring one in. 81° &my father in law is handicap, needs some shade, we came prepared not expecting red oaks to cater to us.. so now he cant enjoy being with the whole family the whole time,as he keeps having to walk (handicap)to get in the shade.

Great water park in a great location. If you are a resident, the prices are not too bad, especially during twilight hours. They have a huge wave pool, a few water slides, a kiddie area, a lazy river and a ton of picnic tables and tents. Everyone is professional who works there and even on a busy day you can find room to swim and spend time. The kiddie area looks very fun (I dont have kids so I cant go in). The waterslides are pretty slow and the stairs are a killer to walk up but it is a very fun place to go in the Summer!

Loved it, so many things to do, discount date for living in Oakland county, only bad thing was the wave pool kept turning off the waves every ten minutes or so... Not sure if it was a safety issue or something? The section for the little kids was great, but slides were a little fast for me 3 year old, would be better for 4+ to really enjoy the kid area, water is about 2ft feel so when he came down the slides I had to catch him so he didnt go under. But had a great time, will definitely be back soon!

just horrible- filthy overcrowded park, the locker room was just gross, patrons are rude with no concept of what a line is. The final straw was the lockers eating 1 dollar in quarters, no big deal right? apparently managment has to inspect the locker and make you wait 20 minutes to get your refund to use a different locker. completely unprofessional staff, suprising because other oakland county parks are great. you could not pay me to go back.

Discounted tickets if you have proof you live in Oakland County! (Such as your drivers license / school ID) Yes there will be lines, and the locker rooms could be cleaner, but if you bring lots of quarters for the lockers, sunscreen, & a towel, you should have fun. Lazy river was broken during my visit last year, so tickets were discounted. Definitely going back this year, once I know the lazy river is fixed!

There food is absolutely atrocious, my daughters friends had bought pizza and while she was biting into the crust there were SPIDERS, yes SPIDERS in her crust, she was still hungry because obviously she had to throw away her food, So she went to go get some fries and there was a dead nat (tiny fly) in her fries!This place is nice but the food is okay.

Our family enjoys the waterpark throughout the summer. How many things can you do all day that the kids (and the whole family) enjoy for one rate. We order pizza, or barbecue and just hang out all day. If you are thinking of something to do for a pre-teen birthday party, Red Oaks has satisfied our kids and their friends several times.

awesome and fun the best ones were the lazy river and the water slide but i forgot what its called but it has big waves and i saw a little girl she got stuck in it she looked 10 that is how deep it is and when she asked them to turn on the waves they said no and she was crying

Always enjoy coming here, the staff is friendly, and the Oakland County resident discount is a huge plus! Last time I went though, it looked like some parts of the pool floor or wall were breaking off, but they had a staff member right by it and collecting any loose pieces.
