Spent $243.94 on 6 prepaid tickets, parking and locker. Waited in line nearly 20-25 minutes, despite the fact that we had prepaid for our tickets. No one had a scanner available; had to wait in line with the people who had not bought their tickets yet. So what is the advantage to pre-purchasing? Not sure why there is only one ticket booth for a large theme park and why they did not have a prepaid check in line. Got in line for the Cat4 slide; waited 45 minutes. Right when were next in line, the park features were suspended due to lightning. I realize this is not the park’s fault. However, we decided to wait at the top of the Cat4 so as not to lose our place in line. Waited about 1 h. Kids wanted to play mini golf as we waited, but were told they couldn’t because of the trees, which I assume had to do with the lightning. As we continued to wait under the shelter of the ride house, the teenage workers at the ride started playing golf! I told a fellow in a red shirt, who appeared to be in charge of the ride, and he remedied the situation. Continued waiting at the top nevertheless, while watching the ride workers playing basketball with the golf balls in the rain. I.e., they huddled under the overhang of the building and threw the golf balls into the nearest hole. They ran out into the storm to re-gather the golf balls, and some were rolling around in a pool of water that had filled up. Reminded me of the creature from the black lagoon. Checked the radar and forecast, which showed more thunderstorms coming. Decided to leave, after having done absolutely nothing. I explained the situation to the ticket booth folks, who waved their hand out the window booth in a magical fashion at what I presume was a regulations poster in ultra-small font, and gave me the “policy speech” about no refunds. They also said this policy was at the bottom of my ticket, but it was not in the e-ticket I received on my phone. This was unacceptable as we had done absolutely nothing but pay and wait in lines. I called for a manager, who rehashed the “policy” speech. I asked for his manager, and he said this person was unavailable. I could call him, but I was told that he would tell me the same thing. At this point, the wind is blowing, I am freezing and soaked, and decided remedy this later. Left the park at about 4:30. So I ask you, dear reader, how would you feel if this happened to you? How would you feel if you prepaid for a dinner, paid to park at a restaurant, paid for a special table, waited for your food, and then told that you would not be served your food, and you would not be granted any refund whatsoever? After at least four attempts to contact the park and the park manager (Jason Crawford) using different phone numbers and leaving voice mails, I finally talked to a living person. She was very adamant about not refunding my money or giving me a rain check; the whole policy speech again. I asked her to tell me why, without using the word “policy”, that this was the right way to treat customers. She was unable to, and actually admitted that it was not right, but that she understands how I feel but that I should just “chock it up as a loss”. Asked to speak with someone who had the authority to give me a rain check, but she would not put me through. Unbelievable. I hate the word “policy”. It is simply an excuse to hide behind. One way to remedy this situation for the future would be, for example, if you have only been in the park for say 2 hours or less, and rides shut down due to weather, they give you a rain check. After all, you get a rain check at Braves baseball games! They would have made out better with a rain check, as I would have had to spend another chunk of money to park, rent a locker, and buy food. Not happy, will never go back to any Lake Lanier Island resorts or the Christmas event. Wicked poor service.

To tell you the truth, I wouldnt waste my time or money here. I went to lanier world last year. We had a great experience. This year, not so much, a lot has changed!! Instead of $10 to get in, it is now $15. Although, we know that coolers are not allowed, we did have a cooler bag to keep our sunscreen separately from our other belongs bc the heat is so hot. We felt as even though they ckd the bags, this would honestly be an acception. Ugh, no! Surprisingly we had another cooler bag with water shoes in it bc the pavement was so damn hot & allowed that to go through. So when I asked what was the difference between the two......their response, the insulation, lol are you fking kidding me..... K..... So it gets better. The floats for the wave pool, they use to be free,. Not anymore, they now will charge you $9 to rent one....even better.... I told you it would..... The girls bathroom, if your a lady, I would recommend you pee in the damn water. Yeah, not lady like, well if you went into the bathroom to pee, you have nothing but wet toilet paper to wipe with. The hand soap was watered down & they had a disinfectant pump in replace of their laziness! Zip lines use to come with an all day pass, but now you have to upgrade to a express pass... Which they failed to tell me that at the gate, we had to find that out after they took our money... I consider yawl crooks!! A bunch of teenagers work there. They dont give a damn! Wave pool lifeguards, well they looked like they were off in space, they looked like they didnt care if, either you sank or could swim. They couldnt care less either way. OH, Giannias Pizza they made us sick. We had to use the bathroom a lot. You dont need details. They should explain it. Basically, the experience I had there last year was no where near the one we had this year. So, question is, Would I ever go back?....Hell NO!!!! I warned you! If I see another review on here stating the same problems, dont say I didnt warn you... If you want to find out for yourself. Go ahead, you will be just as disappointed as I was........ Good luck!!

Our family frequently goes to Lanier World, we have made many memories here. The kids enjoy the slides and wave pool, and the adults relax and have a good time. Though there are a few things that could use vast improvement. 1. The food is very average and dull. Our worst experience was Giannis. They keep it VERY cold in there, and it is no help that she fans are always on and running. Imagine being a soaking wet kid coming into a freezing cold restaurant, it is not very pleasant. They mess up orders frequently and the food is not good. 2. The slides are amazing. They all look as if they have been newly renovated and repainted, which is g he exact case with the Intimidator and Triple Threat. What other waterparks in GA have 11 fast action slides, a fun dunker in which has over 1,000 ways to get wet, and an amazing sky high zip line? Not many! The only slides that you might not want ro send your little ones on are the Intimidator, Triple Threat, Fun Dunker (aka: The Toilet.), and Cat 4. The slides are all a great experience. 3. Many staff members that man the slides are teenagers that care about their phones a lot more than the riders safety. There was a teenage boy running Blackout that let three boys all go down in one run, which looked very dangerous. They look gloomy and tired of their jobs. 4. The wave pool is very fun and the lifeguards there DO know what their doing and DONT just text their friends. It is a pleasant experience in the wave pool.
