I think the letter to below speaks for itself: To the management team at Gedney Farm: My husband and I were looking forward to a relaxing get away for our honeymoon (9/16-9/18). Upon our arrival to Gedney Farm approximately at 4:30 pm Sunday, we were greeted by a note stating, “Sorry we missed you. Please check yourself in”. Which we did without much thought, we were extremely exhausted from the weekend and drive. An hour and a half later my husband, Marc was pulling back into the B&B and bumped into the assistant manager who asked in passing, “Is there anything you need? What time would you like breakfast?”. Still a little confused about the situation Marc replied, “No” Meanwhile, I had woken up from my nap to find a note at the front desk stating “Sorry to miss you. Breakfast is served here from 8:30am tomorrow. See you in the morning!” This note did not include a number where we could reach anyone, a name, frankly nothing. After Marc and I compared notes of our findings, we realized much to our disgust that we were all alone. We were extremely upset after realizing all of the staff and management knew full and well we were visiting on our honeymoon and hadn’t even left us with as much as a wine screw. After the manager arrived, he pointed out to us the maid closet where we could “help ourselves to towels”. But again, we were left alone without a single staff member or guest in the establishment. Please try to understand a few things about this experience: 1) Since I had taken it upon myself to make these arrangements the lack of hospitality made me extremely embarrassed with my husband on our first day of marriage. 2) Gedney Farm was recommended to us by family members who went there on their honeymoon and have returned several times since. We told them about our experience and they are extremely embarrassed and will not be returning in the future. 3) You should thank your neighbors at the Inn on the Green because they were gracious enough to share their wine glasses with us. Which is heads and shoulders more hospitality than we were graced with at your facility. I will have to remember to ask more questions when booking with Bed and Breakfast establishment in the future (e.g. “will there be a person there to help us with our bags? Will there be someone to call for wine glasses? Corkscrew? In case we have an emergency? Will there be someone, anyone there with us?”. I did not realize in your case it is simply just that, a bed and just breakfast (human contact not included). I am requesting a full refund of our stay. I simply find it disgusting the way we were treated and feel that we were tricked to spend the night under false pretenses. By the time we realized the full scope of the situation it was too late for us to leave and find other shelter. I am requesting that my American Express card back the amount for one night.

Extremely upset with the experience my girlfriend and I had there. Upon arrive we meet a staff member who I found to be quite rude. The room we had a few things wrong with it. The bed cover was filthy! And had what looked like blood stains on it. The whirlpool tub was also filthy and needed repairs. They say they offer free WIFI, yet it was not available in our room. The bed was also very uncomfortable and made it hard to enjoy a good night sleep. The worst part by had to be the breakfast, if you can call it that. They had a few things set up for this feast. A small amount of yogert, small amount of granolas and nuts, bananas , and 4 slices of mango and 6 rasberries. Not a single one of things I enjoy nor I find filling. After they brought us coffee and tea they did bring out a plate with a few pastries but it wasnt enough. I expected a lot more out of a bed and breakfast maybe a few cracked eggs and possibly meat?? Bottom line...this place had the WORST BED AND the worst BREAKFAST!

Went here to visit the venue for our wedding. The facility and property are BREATHTAKING. The staff was absolutely wonderful and a pleasure to work with. Unfortunately, the venue was out of our price range just slightly. The total cost came out to around 43000 with the 2 night minimum room rental which was just over what we had to spend. The venue worked hard to get the price down for us but we just couldnt make it work and decided to go where our budget could take us a little further. If we had another 5k in our budget, we would be getting married on the knoll next year. If you are looking for a rustic barn wedding venue, this place is a must see.

We were dying to try this restaurant after we drove by it a few months ago. We finally went tonight. The grounds and restored barn are very nice . The food was a major disappointment though. Out of a party of six no one liked their meal. The pork spit roast was complete fat. It was disgusting. The steaks were less than average. The chicken was dry and bland. There are so many good restaurants in this area so it was a major let down to have a horrible meal and pay over $260 for it. We will not be returning.

This place is beautiful . . . but the guy checking us in/out was weirdly judgmental and rude, and the room looked like it hadnt been cleaned in forever. Its probably unavoidable (I mean the rooms are in a remodeled barn), but the bugs in the huge, otherwise inviting bathtub discouraged us from using it. Again, this place is gorgeous, but its far from comfortable, and the people working there really need to check their attitude.

Attended a wedding ceremony. The setup was beautiful. The staff was very prompt and professional. The building was a little cold and there were a lot of wooden posts in the way of great moments. People were ducking while walking down the aisle. But it was a rainy day wedding that was moved indoors so it cant always be like that. Id recommend the facility though.
