I grew up going to Shays beach ad I knew it then. Im 60 now,so its been a long time for I walked or rode my bicycle there. At one point I worked for a summer in the bath house. Much different then. In future years my dad was a daily visitor. My memories included many nights clam digging for our dinner steamers. I now since moved to New Hampshire but visit every weekend to babysit my beautiful granddaughters. Now we all go here in the summer. As a kid I also played basketball and hung out with my friends. I also ices kated. And played hockey at the iceskating rink. Wonderful memories with my mom,dad siblings and friends,with videos documenting them. Most recent memory however is sad for I lost my mothers crucifix she gave me just prior to her passing 30 yrs ago. I grew up on Chelses st. East Boston. Another memory I must mention is the excitement of airplanes taking off across the water. Its a beautiful beach which provides everything u expect to enjoy an entire day at the beach.

i wouldnt really reccomend actually going here if you want to go to a beach. i mean yes its ok for sunbathing and just to relax but keep in mind that are hardly ever waves here and in total its only about a .25 ( quarter mile ) long its a local spot, its cool to visit but as for beaches go everyone goes to Revere which is just a quick 15 min train ride or drive away this place is mostly for if you want to relax and get away from the crowds its nice but honestly your not missing much after an hour youl want to leave not even a snack bar on site. surprised they even have a bath so you can wash the sand off cuz trust me the sand here isnt very clean you can see how gross it is as you get closer. take a pass, its also quite noisey with all the planes taking off from the runways just a short 2000 ft away only cool thing to enjoy here, there are better options not far away.

Love it here. The only reason I gave it 4 stars opposed to 5 is because its usually a little rocky. But its much more peaceful than Revere Beach and there is a big park for the kids.showers to rinse off after beach. Seasonal food and its never too crowded. You can see the sand in the water and the little fishies but not enough to creep you out LOL just a little black fishes that are too fast to even touch. Theres also a hockey rink close by. Atlanta rocks its a five star for being around the Revere Beach area anyway. If youre looking for beautiful water and sand Nahant is the place to go

Not a very big beach, however good view of aircrafts flying in and out of Boston Logan Airport. Also it has nice parks for kids, toilets and decent picnic area with the grass. May be good for folks living in the city and dont want to travel longer.. definitely not good if you expect a big beach. Also onsite guards are very helpful and prompt to provide help and information.

One of the cleanest beaches is Boston. Family friendly with playground, tennis courts, hand ball courts, public bathrooms and outdoor foot/body showers. One minute walk from Orient Heights T stop on the blue line. Restaurants minutes away and plenty of free parking. Oh yeah, and you can watch the planes at Logan.

My son loves planes.. great spot to plane watch, while either swimming, or at the playground, or sitting in the grass. Too cold to swim the day we went, but some brave ones were in there. . Sand really dusty, so make use of the many foot wash and shower stations

Beach and Playground...Kept clean compared to other beaches around...Bathrooms...Small food/slush concession stand...showers for rinsing off...lifegaurds ...water is tested for bacteria and flags raised if too high...kids love seeing airplanes ready to take off

Beautiful beach. Not very busy. Has an incredible view of the logan airport planes. Great place for kids. Has a playground, public bathroom, and is close to a few fast food places (dunkin &bk). There are lots of seaguls so be cautious bringin food.

A hidden East Boston gem. Love this beach, never crowded, great parking. Never gets old swimming while watching planes take off and land from across the water. Clean, well maintained. Kids playground area, light refreshments. Great beach.

Its relaxing. There is a snack stand, outdoor water sprayers, restrooms, a park for the kids to play, plenty of room on the sand for lots of people, life guards. Great view of Logan Airport. You can watch the planes land and or take off.

Best beach in Boston. Has a wonderful parking area convenient for a quick drive from Boston. You can relax on the beautiful sand while watching the planes take off and land as the Logan Airport runway is just across the inlet.

Got a few hours before you flight? I stopped in to stick my feet in the water before my flight. Its great for sunbathing and wading. Swimming not really unless your 4. Pretty clean, nice bath house and snack stand.

Pretty nice beach and is quite convenient. Located near a train station, has free parking, restrooms, shower stations, and restaurants all around. There is even a playground for kids if they get bored of the water.

Awesome location by the airports runway where you can watch planes take off and land. Big stretch of sand. Can rent kayaks here. Check it out, its pretty legit. Seagulls are also entertaining to watch here.

Good beach to just hang or bring children (there is a park next to beach). If you like to swim in the ocean its not the best beach, no waves and they rope off a small area where you can swim.

Great beach, easy access, Dunkin Donuts nearby, lifeguards and snack shack and rest rooms. Only complaint is the beach has small rocks and there can sometimes be some litter on the beach.

this is probably the ugliest beach Ive been to (but I come from a tropical place so Im spoiled with my beaches). it has a cute park though. you can see the airplanes in the background lol

Good place to roam around for couple of hours. You can see planes, Trains, boats from one single place. Parking available. Picnic spot was there. Small beach.
