So I just moved from Florida. My 6yr old mini schnauzer has been doing dog parks his entire life, no problems. The Sharon Dog Park ranks the lowest of all dog parks Ive ever been to. Not only is it small and dirty, dog owners do not respect the rules of the dog park. It seemed they were more interested in socializing with each other than attending to their dogs. When I first entered the park with my 20lb dog he was greeted by several big dogs that simply would not let him come into the play area. They just crowded around him not allowing him to move, one German Shepard mix kept trying to hump him. This went on for 10 minutes while the owners did nothing but stand around and chat with each other. I understand that dogs need to socialize and set pecking order within the pack, but these dogs were clearly bullying my dog to the point that he was shaking and would not move. I made it clear that I was not happy with their behavior, but no owners came over to remedy the situation. The German Shepard mix continued to try and hump my little schnauzer so I started to scold him. Thats when the owner finally came over and told her dog "no". Thats it, then she walked away to go sit back on the bench with her friends and talk. A minute later the German Shepard was humping my dog again... and then at the same time another dog came over and tried to get in on it and then my dog finally snapped. He did not want to be humped and bullied anymore. The next thing I know, there are 5 dogs attacking my dog, one of them had my dogs head in his mouth at one point. No owners did ANYTHING. They just stood and watched. I had to get down on the ground and pull a husky mix and a German Shepard mix off of my 20lb mini schnauzer. Once i got him in my arms another dog came over and started jumping and biting me as Im holding my dog in my arms. Unbelievable!!! Where are these dogs owners? My dogs never been in a fight in his life. The Sharon Park is a complete failure. Now my little dog has a nice gash in his head and bite marks all over his skin. I hope they shut this dog park down, the dog owners obviously do not know how to watch their dogs.

Not a bad dog park at all. Its a decent size and offers running water during warm weather. There is a lack of ground surface variety. The entire park is wood-chips, which some dogs dont like. There also isnt really any protection from the sun in the summer. Many other dog parks have more mature trees or canopies to protect from overexposure to the sun. The best thing about this park? Its almost always busy. Theres virtually no risk of coming and being the only one there... even on the coldest and snowiest of days. There are benches and a community bulletin-board. Most of the dogs that frequent the park are extremely friendly. In fact, youre more likely to see confrontation between humans than you are between dogs. Theres an adjacent area dedicated to puppies or small dogs... so you dont have to leave the new pup home. Park your car at the lot next to the municipal tennis courts (across from the ball park). Walk down the trail between the condemned building and the skateboard park. Past the murky pond and youre there! Id recommend leaving before dark, as the pathway becomes pitch-black after dusk and there is no lighting at the park.

I drove over an hour to check this dog park out with my three year old daughter to find out she cant go till shes 10?!?! We have been to so many dog parks out of this state and I have never once seen one that had a rule about not allowing a child. My daughter maybe young, but every single dog we passed she would ask the owner if she could pet the dog because I taught her to ask before hand. She has been raised around and associated with many family members with dogs. All the signs about picking up dog poop isnt helping because I seen so much outside the park and on google search you dont see all the signs they have posted outside the fenced area. We went into the wooded area to play with our pup and build stuff with sticks. She said she was frustrated and I agree that should be my choice as a parent. You shouldnt from one the signs be bringing in aggressive dogs in the first place.

All dog parks need to close. How many dogs are you willing to sacrifice?? Every day I hear of an injury. RESPONSIBLE dog owners should demand these areas to be closed immediately. Fence in your backyard. Your pet is not a toy. Its a wild animal. As nice as your pet is, its unpredictable near another. This needs to stop.

This park is very stark. There is no grass for the dogs, just wood chips. It is one large fenced in area at the end of a trail. The poop bags are at the other end of the trail. There is not a separate area for small dogs. A rather disappointing area as far as dog parks go

You may call this a slightly big double gated yard specially made for dogs and their masters. Its a place where dogs and dog lovers can meet, letting the dogs off their leash and run for a bit with one another is fun to watch and helps build the dogs confidence and mannerisms.

The only dog park I know about. All fenced in and you are able to let your dog off the leash. The dogs have a lot of fun and its very clean

We couldnt have a puppy without this place. The late morning crowd on weekdays is fantastic.
