This movie theater has a lot going for it, which helps it to stand out. With creamery inside the theater, beer on tap for the adults, and reasonable ticket prices make this a very good movie theater. Coupled with a beautiful classic construction makes it lovely. Some might not appreciate the classic movie seats or the lack or ultra modern construction. For date night 9/10.. for the hyper serious movie goer 6/10.

Cosy, renovated, wine sold at the concession stand. The movie selection used to be more independent films, less childrens/ mainstream. Then I moved to Arlington and that programming switched to the partner moviehouse in Somerville. On the plus side the renovation was further along. Beautiful clean theaters, sweet staff, programming geared toward families with some independent and offbeat selectionsselections.

When I went to see Bee Movie the screen was out of focus. We told them and they "adjusted it" but half the screen was still blurry. Previously we went to see Sweeney Todd and they started the movie 20 minutes late. The theater is run by teenagers under very poor management. When asked to fix a movie it is a hassle pulling them away from their popcorn-eating and talking.

Great small local theater. They even use real butter on their popcorn. Tickets are always a few dollars less than the big theaters. I feel like they used to show more indie/artsy type films but now its all mainstream. They have fun series in the summer though like their "Bill Murrathon" this year (2014) and runs of classics theyve been doing for a few years now.

Decadent organic ice cream, butter free popcorn, and craft beers. Family friendly event. Movies for entire family and generations. I remember the old days when this was tiny theater with the old opera house decorations waiting to be refurbished and owner would auction off popcorn for trivia answers before the shows.

Im a New Yorker with a loss of a small town feel. Not only is this theater budget friendly it has this comfortable feel. Though I wish seats werent split in the middle, its nice going once in a while for that, what a movie theater looked like many years ago feeling. Kind of like retro excitingly playing modern.

Great old movie theatre. Maybe 6-7 screens. Does not always get the new movies maybe week or two after they premier. Seating is not assigned so you can actually buy tickets on a whim. Ice cream parlor in lobby great Ice cream. They serve beee at concessions! Try ottos pizza next door before the show.

This is a great theatre, with good, reasonably priced concessions and good screen/sound quality. The staff if very helpful, and mindful of allergies if you alert them. The movies are good, and the classic decor adds to the experience. Its also great to have it on the bus route (77).

This local, independent theatre is one of the best! It doesnt offer the newest technology. Instead it specializes in showing good movies at great prices. It also serves beer and wine. And offers weekly mom and baby screenings for new parents who need to get out of the house!

This is my favorite theatre of all time. Its great if you have children and you love the vintage movie feel. I try to bring my Son at least twice a month, they play current and new movies at a very reasonable price. Sometimes my Son and I see a blockbuster

Saw _Rise of Planet of the Apes_, not high art (my wife says it *is* high art) but still, there was an annoying buzz from the sound system and someone left a light on in the projection booth. Going out to the movies should be better than staying home.

The old building was converted - great! Prices are great! The new chairs are awful!!!! You will have less room than flying economy coach. I am only 5"4" and I was horribly uncomfortable. Too bad they tried to fit so many seats in their spaces.

I have been going to the capital theater as long as I can remember, and this place just keeps getting better. Great staff, cheapest tickets prices around, clean bathrooms, an ice cream parlor, and I can get a beer...What! This place is awesome.

Charming and inexpensive. Film / audio quality is good not great by todays standards, but the staff is friendly and the snack options are delightful. Beer, ice cream, and real-butter popcorn in a 10 dollar movie? Love this place.

Beautiful old theater, and not owned by a chain. Runs both first run big Hollywood films as well as indie works, but also classics, black and white, etc. Still maintains the feel of a real, local theater.

One of the best theatres in the area. The sister theatre to Somerville Theatre, and between the two you can find most current movies. Tickets are a great price and you can get a beer to enjoy the show.

Small theater, cheap ticket prices, draft beers, real butter on popcorn, and most weeknights I havent seen more than 10 people in the kids movies with us. A few restaurants right down street for after

Good prices for good movies. Seats are well elevated over row in front, at least in some rooms, which is good for children (& shorter adults). Lobby connects to ice cream shop, which is unusual.

Great Italian food in a very nice room. Its not cheap, but its worth it! Try to leave room for the desserts! The Brattle St. location is excellent; a bit off the beaten track.

A great place to see a movie . Sometimes I go and just have their delicious ice cream for dinner. Friendly, helpful staff. A neighborhood gem. On the 77 bus from Harvard Square.

Classic restored movie theater. Has a good selection of beer/wine and snacks, ice cream parlor attached, discount matinees, and the staff is friendly. Its one of Arlingtons gems.

An excellent old-school theatre. I wish every town had one of these. Not an art house, and not a factory. Fascinating selection of movies, well worth keeping track of.

Not only did I make my embarrassing film debut as an extra in ROID RAGE (as a corpse) at Capitol theatre, but since then have seen countless marvelous films there!

Reasonable ticket prices, fun old theater, and if you buy the Arlington Community card they are usually one of the sponsors and have a discount for something.

The Capitol Theatre is a neighborhood gem. They have saved us multiple times by showing movies that had disappeared from other theaters. Plus ice cream!

Want ice cream and beer while you watch a movie? Yup, theyve got that. Comfortable seats and smaller theatres so even in the back you have a good view.

Classic style theater, not one of the big chains which adds character. We went here for a kids birthday party which I thought was a cool idea.
