Very very poor customer service. Disappointed would be an understatement. My girlfriend and I are avid wine-os. We travel and visit many different winerys and vineyards on the north east coast. We were on our way from DC to Central PA when we decided to stop at this winery in northern MD. We looked up the hours and decided we could make it in time to try a sample. Due to traffic between DC and Baltimore, we were pushing it. However we pulled in at 5:27pm, got to the door at 5:28pm and the OPEN sign was in the window. We walked in, to be greeted with with a very unpleasant "we close at 5:30" we understood it was pushing it but most decent people or buisnesses would spare us one minute and let us sample or purchase a bottle of wine. Instead of gaining a lifelong customer they ran us out the door and threw the CLOSED sign up behind us, I didnt even get a word out of my mouth. Truly disappointed in the customer service, cant tell you if the wine is good or not and Ill never know, but as far as respect for a customer who wanted nothing more then to sample a wine and hope to write a good review, we have this. Cant believe the service given. The OPEN sign was still in the window!!! Most decent buisnesses would have said "we are getting ready to close would you like to sample a wine before we do" thats all it would have taken to keep me coming back. What a waste of my time.

With a name like Basignani we were expecting nothing but great things. Sadly, we had just an ok experience. My group and I have been hitting many spots on the Maryland Wine Trail this summer and were expecting this one to be a great add to the list. Upon entering, the grounds were very nice and the tasting room had the cozy feel to it. A large amount of the enjoyment of wine tasting come from the experience, and this is where we were let down. Our wine taster was newer as she admitted to us, but we never felt that welcoming connection that many of the other Vineyards have. It seemed like we were a bother and they just wanted to complete the tasting. In addition, we asked about tours, which calling ahead the previous day were told are done by request. Unfortunately, they would not provide us with tours now or later in the day. Things were very hectic within the tasting room and again we never established that personal connection like many of the other vineyards mange to do so well. Perhaps we just got them on a bad day...

They have wonderful wine! Tastes great and their staff/the family that owns it are all very sweet :) Met the married couple that owns Basignani and one of their kids when I was there. Everyone was pleasant and they really know what they are talking about when it comes to wine. Take an hour or two to enjoy a wine tasting. They have a tent set up so you can bring lunch and eat outside and buy a bottle of wine. Very nice way to spend an afternoon. Very neat place! I also enjoyed finding a cute little border collie in the bathroom! lol

Great winery close to home (Baltimore/DC area). We came on a whim for Valentines Day wine and wound up doing the wine and truffle pairing. The wine was was delicious and the truffles (some made with the wines) were amazing! Molly was an absolute delight as a hostess and we are already making plans to come back for Friday Movie Nights in the spring!

Love the wine and the atmosphere! The family is at all the events and is very friendly. Youve got to come to the "Free Fridays" where they have free wine tasting and live music outside in their piazza. They make their delicious Italian brick oven pizza for sale and of course their delicious wine is for sale too. Its a family friendly event.

I went to a wedding here that was held just outside of the vines, and the reception at their pavilion. The winery staff was extremely helpful and made us all feel like family. They let the wedding party bring in outside catering, but of course provided the wine, which was surprisingly good! Beautiful location and great wine!

Nice wine tasting in rustic, rural setting. Outside seating to enjoy their homemade, authentic brick oven pizza was a little too rustic for us. The seating consisted of picnic tables under tents. Cheese plate was good with wine pairing. A conversation area with plush seating would create a more enjoyable experience.

Some wines are ok, some are terrible. Nothing special here. My biggest complaint is with the wine we purchased. It tasted nothing likes the wines we tried at the tasting. In fact, it was so terrible that we ended up dumping all of it.

Enjoyed the wine tasting with cheese. The ambiance is homely & rustic not commercial. They had some really nice flavor selections and twists. Will definitely revisit.
