Easily one of my most favorite places to visit in Williamsburg. There is a wide variety of wines to choose from including different vintages, varietals, and price points, so there is a wine for everyone. The fine wine tasting is great to try the less expensive wines and ones you would see in local supermarkets. The reserve is great for more bold and dry wines you dont typically see in stores. Theyre always adding new wines to choose from, so theres always something to try. And the two tours they offer are a lot of fun and very educational, plus you get wine at the end! Everyone that works there is friendly and knowledgeable, and I have never had a bad experience. If youre a local, the winery offers a lot of events throughout the year, especially around holidays. A must do if you come to Williamsburg.

My wife and I have been fortunate enough to have visited wineries from many states including Oregon, Virginia, Texas, Tennessee and California and I have too confess that the guide at this winery was the first one to speak disparagingly of another winery or state. When asked about the influence of other wineries and the comparison between varietals the guide was condescending and rude. It really put me off and soured whatever fun we were having. When visiting wineries in other regions I have always been struck by the respect that the wineries have for each others work. Too bad this positive attitude hasnt extended to this small winery. The food was average but the local military band was playing so that was a plus. The wine was below average unless you prefer sweet reds.

My wife, daughter, and I took the Reserve Tasting Tour. My wife and I had never done this before, but my daughter has been to several in California. It was quite an enjoyable experience. Bob Jennaro was our tour guide. He was "Exceptional"! He was incredibly knowledgeable and highly personable. He gave us so much interesting information and covered absolutely everything from the vines, to nuances of production as well as the interesting details surrounding the nine bottles of wine we tested. The ambiance in the reserve tasting room was incredible! My daughter said it was the best tasting she had ever experienced! I honestly cant wait to go again when family and friends come to visit! Well done Bob and the Williamsburg Winery!

Hidden off the beaten path but worth the hunt. Decided to forgo the tour/tasting and opted for flight of the reds with lunch all four wines were winners and not too expensive. Sandwiches were tasty and filling. Soup and salad were good too. Dessert was a key lime mouse with graham cracker crumbs. Almost as good as a real thing in FLA. We ate in the back section of the restaurant and enjoyed a view of the vines but bushes and debris and dirty windows soiled our view. Disappointed with the overall appearance of the grounds. In need of a careful overhaul. Service was a plus. Overall worth the trip.

This was the single worst wine tasting weve experienced, and weve done many. The wines are WAY overpriced and overrated. The cost of a tasting is signicantly overpriced. Even more disturbing is the arrogant attitude we received at the front desk upon arrival. Not once did we get the feeling we were special or welcomed. The tasting bar, while attempting to create a rustic, old world effect came off as cheap. The wineries in PA, upstate NY, California, and Ontario Canada are far superior. Dont waste your time or money here.

What an awesome place! We walked in out of the blue, not knowing what to expect.... The grounds were beautiful; the people who worked there that we interfaced with were great, and very knowledgeable about their wines. We (my husband, my sister, and myself) did a wine tasting -- the wines are awesome! Despite living in Maryland, were considering joining their club. We consider it worth it to drive down to Williamsburg to get involved. Good wine, good people. SO very glad we stopped!!!!

I do not typically write reviews but the service at The Williamsburg Winery has left me no choice! My Fiance and I are getting married at the winery next year and decided that it would be a beautiful location to take our engagement photos (we were right)! The entire staff is amazing but the event staff certainly goes above and beyond! We are certainly looking forward to working with them over the course of the next few months! Oh and the wine is delicious!!

Was visiting Virginia Beach when the weather turned nasty - so took the hour drive to Willamsburg Winery to sample the wines on Virginia. Was not sure what to expect, but it turned out to be a great afternoon. Took the tour which included tasting and was able to learn a lot about local wines and some tips on tasting and serving wine as well. Ended up staying and visiting the restaurant as well. Definitely worth the trip - and brought home 6 bottles!

This was a fantastic experience. We decided to do the extensive reserved wine tour and tasting. Our host was Brian and he was perfect. His humor and charm made the experience perfect. I wish I just an ounce of his wine knowledge. I highly recommend this specific tour and tasting, it breaks you away from the crowds and immerses you in a small group in the cellar for a more imitate tasting. Was a fantastic experience.

We did the tour, tasting, and lunch package. The tavern has absolutely amazing food and they have wines for literally EVERY wine drinker. My mother likes white semi sweets and my aunt likes merlot and sauvignon blanc and they both ended up leaving with several bottles, I have to recommend the Plantation Blush its very similar to White Zinfindel.

Good wine, beautiful buildings. I was disappointed that there were no comfortable chairs to relax in during our tasting, just a stand up bar. Also, our server was not very personable and seemed immature. She seemed to be reciting the wine info from the same description I was given. Ill try the restaurant next time.

I highly recommend taking the tour. Joe was awesome and we learned so much. He is a retired Professor from W&M and now teaches all about wines and the winery. What a great retirement! Great wines at a great price an the winery is amazing. The tavern has very good food and service.

This was probably the best tour and tasting Ive ever been on. Our tour guide Rusty was amazing and the tasting was fun with great wine! The tour is definitely worth the extra $2 if you have the time, and the restaurant was a great lunch spot whether you go into the winery or not.

The hotel portion is new and clean. It has a down home Chic. The owners wife "decorated" the place and it has that kind of "charm". So if you are looking for 5 star rooms this is not for you. If you want a great homey Frenchy country feeling this could be your place!

We did the reserve winery tour and had an excellent time, despite the dreary weather. Joe was an excellent tour guide and we enjoyed the behind the scenes look of the winery operation. The wines were of course delicious and the cellar was a great setting for it.
