Free admission...donations welcomed! A little out of the way, but easy to find with GPS. A lot of parking areas. A lot of the exhibits were under renovation which meant several of the animals shown on the map werent actually being exhibited. Unfortunately we werent able to see the Wallabys, Coati, Ocelot, or Spider Monkey. Also some other exhibits werent maintained so you ended up seeing more shrubs or trees rather than the Bald Eagle and the Sloth. The Praire dog exhibit could use an update, maybe like the Beaver exhibit with a glass underside that you could maybe see the tunnels and what they are actually doing since they are seldom above ground. We did enjoy seeing the Sandhill Crane, Patagonian Cavy, Alpaca, Burrowing Owl, River Otter, the Bison were pretty neat, the Red Wolf eventually came out, and the Andean Bear was awesome. The White-tailed deer & Turkey were nothing special since we have an abundance of them here in Pa. Overall it was a nice outing, Im just glad the admission was free since there honestly wasnt much to see. Id recommend waiting until after the park/zoo is updated before making a trip to it.

I understand this is a free "zoo" but this was a disappointment. While I didnt have high expectations, I did expect to see some animals... I can count that there were less than 10 animals. They had plenty of exhibits, sadly most were empty. The few zoo personnel I did encounter were not very friendly with the exception of the greeter. I did make a donation as that is all they ask for but I dont think I will have the chance to come back because the zoo is pretty rundown and it looks like the animals may be better relocating. I hope this can get funded better to possibly improve the environment for both guests and animals.

Ive been going to this zoo since I was a baby. This morning, I took my daughter to see the animals too. Its a great local place with free admission, and very friendly staff. Ive always loved this place and its good to know that theyre still doing great. This is an amazing place to take your kids. They will love the animals and there is a park where they can play connected to it. Its right by the water ( where you can also rent a pedal boat to ride on, seats three people). I would highly recommend this place if your looking for a relaxing atmosphere where there is lots of fun things to do!

LOVE!! LOVE!! LOVE!! Did I mention that I love this little zoo??? :-) We found it about 5 years ago and now its a part of every trip to Ocean City. Its one of the few free zoos. Its not huge, but its perfect for spending about 2 hours enjoying nature. One this particular trip they were cleaning up from the recent flooding due to heavy rain. We saw a group of boys (maybe 12 - 13 years old) donating their time to help with the clean up. They were raking, sweeping, shoveling, etc. It was really nice to see. We love this zoo and we visit EVERY TIME we visit Ocean City, MD.

On our way home from OC we stopped because our 3 year old LOVES animals. I thought "a free zoo, not going to have much". They had so many different animals I was surprised. Each enclosure had a sign to explain the animals and their natural habitat. The animals looked healthy and well taken care of. The enclosures were clean and well kept. They even had a little ice cream stand (amazing ice cream) and a gift shop. It was a nice afternoon with my family and all for a donation. It is definitely worth the stop.

A very cool place to wander around. Free is always nice, but sometimes not worth your time. The Salisbury Zoo is NOT one of those. I take a trip through the Zoo every chance I get. The animals are varied and well displayed. I often find new displays and special projects going on as I tour the facility. The Zoo cup is a bargain, allowing $1refills. I hope you swing by and hang like a sloth (I heard she had a baby), jump like a Patagonian Cavy, but not spit like a llama!

The zoo itself was horrible!!! All the animals there seemed to be depressed and over stressed!!! No animals looked as if they had gotten real Tender love and care from any staff!!! Not sure how invloved they are!!! I think they should charge $1 for kids and $2 for adult so that they can have more of a presentable zoo along with healthier and less stress/ depressed animas!!! Food for thought!!!

This zoo is a smaller zoo, but its free and there are plenty of animals to see. There are alligators, flamingos, bears, otters, alpacas, bison, bald eagles, wolves, jaguars, and much more. I feel like its the perfect size zoo to take smaller kids to because they have a better chance of seeing all the animals before they get too tired and are ready to leave.

First - this zoo is free. They accept donations and I highly recommend donating, its worth it. We had the best time here. It was mid-December, it had just finished raining. There were possibly two or three other people in the whole zoo, leaving the entire place to ourselves. Many of the animals were out and active. A wonderful place to visit!

Small zoo. It is very nice but has been getting run down over the years. Better for small children, not ages 10 and up. There is almost always a worker there trying to raise money for the zoo. This is most common on the weekends. There is also a gift shop, lots of stuffed animals. And you cant forget the park which is very nice.

The exhibits are AWESOME, the park is free, and the gift shop is small but insanely reasonably priced. We bought several gifts for the children in our lives because the stuffed animals and items sold there were very unique. I loved this and it was easily my favorite place in the whole area. I intend to visit again in the future.

Cute little zoo that is perfect for a morning with the little ones. Free but a donation is definitely warranted. Takes an hour to see all the animals. All covered with canopy trees. Tons of staff. Today they were walking around with snakes to touch. Clean bathrooms, great playground at one end. Would definitely recommend.

This is a lovely, free, approachable zoo. One of Marylands hidden gems. While they have several larger animals (such as monkeys, bears, sloths, some large cats, a bison, and llamas), I think where this zoo shines is with its bird collections. They have magnificent flamingoes, parrots, eagles, turkeys, owls, and many more.

Its a great little zoo attached to a city park. Bring a picnic lunch and spend the day/afternoon with family. They also host many events and educational programs, one of which is a night of camping in the zoo; lots of fun for families. This zoo is not large, but it is free and very well kept.

Nice for an afternoon out with the kids. Dont expect the San Diego Zoo; this one is small, but sweet. This free zoo ends in a wonderful playground. Between the playground & the zoo, youre set for an afternoon out. If you pack a picnic lunch & lots of water, youre good for the day!
