honestly it was a disgrace i could smell dead animals somewhere the bears water was filthyactually almost every cage and pin was terrible i felt sorry for all the animals the bear he or she is not a healthy.the grounds are not well kept i put my name and address in your suggestion box i feel for any animal that is put into your Zoo ive traveled all over the world seen big zoos and small zoos Example Hawaii has a medium size zoo kept spotless animals healthy and not depressed your poor encaged creatures were very depressed hiding for the most part did not engage with visitors, that was last year i certainly hope youve replaced whoever had control or was considered the KEEPER OF THE ZOO " whoever it was should be placed in one of those unkept cages and be treated the same way , i doubt youll allow this to print ,is you do it will show your making some progress and really listening to what the people have to say i was with others who all agreed that the Zoo was a tragic project that wasnt operated in the best it could be to and thought and saw the animals were under fed and mistreated living in unsanitary conditions.you have no idea how i have thought of these animals in the past year my grand daughter told me they added some more animals to the Zoo not to long ago this i feel had to written to protect animals there and new comers ..Judith Fero P.S this Zoo does not deserve one star .

Today is September 5th, 2017. On a whim, I visited the zoo with my wife for an impromptu date. Initially walking in, youre charged $9. The petting zoo is closed for renovations, which is okay, but the amount of the zoo that is closed for renovations was disappointing. The animals look sick and malnourished. The fauna in the enclosures for the animals have grown out of proportion. You can barely see the ground in the animals enclosures. It was okay for a walk around on a semi-rainy day, but definitely not worth what was being charged for entrance.

There werent a lot of animals, but we did enjoy the ones that we saw. The local zoo where we live in Rochester has a lot more animals, but the cages and exhibits have a lot less room for the animals. It usually is quite depressing when we go. The enclosures at this zoo were huge and we liked how they were set up. The animals were pretty close to us and even though it was a very hot day, there wasnt a lot of walking to get to each exhibit. We would definitely go here again, a beautiful zoo.

I went there 2 days ago I drove 2 hours and 45 minutes there were like nine attractions and half of them you couldnt even see because they were in hiding somewhere felt like $30 for 2 adults and 2 kids for 20 minutes of nothing is not worth it I wanted my money back that is who has nothing Im surprised it has not been shut down yet it looks run down the animals look very old and theres not many different kinds of species not even an elephant

Thompson Park as a whole is a great hilltop location on the edge of Watertown. Lots of picnic areas, trails (paved and woodland-type), golf course, and yes the zoo. Realize that this is North Country NY, and the only animals they can keep here are able to survive the harsh winters here! This is not a standard zoo, but its a nice ine to take small children to.

The displays were really nice and it was fun to see animals that either were native to NY or still live in NY. We were a little bummed that the bear and wolverine werent out, but it may just be a seasonal thing. On that note come on the weekend in the winter. The animals are much more active in the winter than in the heat of the summer.

Great little zoo with lovely exhibits. It is nice to see a zoo that showcases local animals that are not normal zoo animals. Highlights of this zoo include river otters, beautiful wolves, a hellbender and a wolverine. Local aviary is also cool. Get up close to wild turkeys and owls. Support your local zoo and check it out!

Had a great time with my girlfriend and her 4 year old daughter. They have a pretty good assortment of animals. The bears were very active and we got to see them up close and personal when the keeper fed them peanuts. More than worth the entry fee. Avoid the gift shop though.

I went there and they only had like 4 animals and they werent even active. Ive never been such a small zoo before. I didnt even stay 30 mins. Thats how quick it takes to look at all the animals. I understand that some animals cant stand the cold but it shouldnt be like that.

My wife and I were visiting from Ottawa, ON, Canada and had a wonderful time at the zoo. The staff were very friendly and one particular staff member went out of her way to show us the wolverine, Valentine, who we were delighted to see. We would definitely visit again!

Dont plan on it taking an entire day. We got there at 2:00p.m., and found ourselves back to the entrance at 2:55. Would have been sooner but the wolves kept us entertained for 10 minutes. Animals were taken care...$30 for a family of 4 they should be...

Each time my family and I have visited there has been multiple animal enclosures closed down. I would say that about 30 percent of the zoo doesnt have animals in the enclosure. Also none of this information is posted anywhere to know ahead of time.

Barely any animals , half of it "closed for construction " It is a joke. They shouldnt be charging people to walk around. We literally saw a wolf, two otters, three black bears, an eagle, 5 butterflies, and a mountain lion. Dont waste your money.

Poor use of space, many of the exhibits were closed down for construction and there was no information, like a map, signs for guidance, etc. This zoo has much potential though with the amount of space it really has to work with.

The zoo is a great place to take children, is well maintained, and the staff is friendly. It would have been nice to know the wolverine and fisher cat were gone, instead of waiting for them to appear.

This zoo was very nicely mantained. Its small but fun for a afternoon activity. It only showcases New York state animals and they all seemed happy and well taken care of.

Very interactive for the kids! Also, offers adults only events like Brew at the Zoo. Sometimes has live music. and is often very participative within the community!

Very nice zoo walkable so its not huge with a very up close encounter with the animals. I love this place! I have a four year old and she absolutely loves it here.

Thompson Park was enjoyable. I enjoyed the views of the Watertown area, the memorials and the stone structures. I didnt visit the zoo but plan to at a later date!
