We reserved the birthday party room a month in advance for my 8 year old niece who wanted to see Boss Baby for her birthday . (The manager let us know that it may not be playing then, but one with a similar rating would be.) We just hoped for the best when her special day rolled around. Thankfully we were excited to see it was still playing! When we got there, to our dismay they had the wrong movie playing in our theater. I was confused that they would be playing a movie that started at 10:45 AM in the birthday room when the party room movie start times are 11 AM. In addition, the manager didnt really want to have all of the other patrons move even though it was their mistake. He asked if we would take a few vouchers and he wouldnt charge us for a few people. I was astounded at the lack of trying to accommodate a little girl on her birthday! I understand mistakes can be embarrassing, but how they chose to handle it was very poor. In the end, we were able to see the right movie after some persistence, but we will not be returning.

This place is a true treasure of Frederick, MD!!!! I love this place... I used to go as a child, and it was a very special time as movies even at $.99 at the time were a big deal to me and my mother!!! I had not gone in 10 years easy, and went last night to watch a movie!!! I was pleasantly surprised as to how great the place was... A few dollars for a movie, and the theater was HUGE!!! Much larger than many other place... The seats were great, I think they were redone(Other reviews say that needed to happen, I guess the owner listened!!)... The sound and the screen was fantastic!!! I like to sit far away, and the back row was a bit to far for me... Really was a great value... THEY ONLY TAKE CASH!! They do have an ATM though... I would recommend this place to anyone!!! I will also be back myself, as I miss a fair amount of movies due to home and work schedule... Do not miss out, as this place is a great value, and really reminds you of how a theater should be!!!!

Everything in the theater was very out of date and in need of a MAJOR face lift. Ticket price was great though. My overall experience though, yea. As soon as the doors open to the theater it was a rush of cattle into the theater. Zero organization. Normally I do not complain about my fellow movie goers but in this case I will. During the movie, I actually missed a few minutes of screen time because the mother in front of me would not discipline her kids who acted up multiple times and a elderly lady 4 rows in front of me held her phone up for everyone to see thus blinding us. If you go to this theater expect ZERO security and fellow movie goers to be very rude. The low price of a ticket does not make up for all of the short comings.

This theater is a perfect fit for my family. The tickets for all of the showings are affordable, and with the family matinee showings on weekends at half price, it makes taking my little ones to the movies affordable for family friendly movies. The snack bar is a bit pricey but it still isnt as pricey as the other theaters and they have a kid pack that is affordable. Of course, you have to wait until the movie has been out a while but I dont mind that. The building could use and face lift but the seats are comfortable enough, the sound is perfect (kids complain it is too loud at the other theater), it is always clean when we are there, and for the price it cant be beat!

Well lets start off with the fact that 2 people can see a fairly new movie (few weeks old) for less than ten dollars, and half that on Tuesdays. It is an older theater, but has been updated to digital projectors and has decent sound. The seats are the older spring style, so they make some noise but are comfortable. The stadium seating isnt steep enough for me, but there is a ton of seats so if someone does sit in front of you theres always a different good spot. The people are always nice, and its nice that its a small business that actually cares that you choose their theater.

Very disappointed, been planning for about a week to go see Moana at Holiday Cinema with the littles!!! Invited friends, rearranged our schedule; the E-mail said it was playing Saturday at 515, online says its playing at 515, I even called and the recording says its playing (you cant talk to a person just a recording of the movies and their show times)..... well not only is it not play today!!!! If it was playing the show time is 5pm. "Oops, it was a mistake" is what we got from the ticket lady. Just so annoyed, and now I have 3 super disappointed kids.....

My husband and I have been going to this theater for over 10 years! Did you know that Holiday Cinemas has one of the largest movie screens in Frederick County! Why pay $9 for a movie when it comes out the first weekend? We wait 6 weeks to see it here for a 1/3 of the price! Plus, family friendly movies are shown every weekend at 11 am for $1.25! It is an older theater that has been around since before Indiana Jones first premiered, but the age just adds to the charm! Check Holiday Cinemas out for an affordable good time!

This place is full of roaches and mold. You can tell they do not keep up with repairs and upkeep. I went into the females bathroom and found empty beer bottles in the trash can. Do not go after dark, because they do not turn the parking lot lights on, making it easy for a crime to occur. Especially with being next to the infamous Motel 6. They also do not use the heat in the winter. We will never go here again. It is a health hazard and disgusting.

Went to see Diary of A Wimpy Kid and it wasnt even the right movie , had different people in it. The popcorn was stale and when we asked for them to make us a new batch they said they couldnt, and their nachos and cheese were disgusting as well. The seats were hard and uncomfortable. Would not recommend this movie theater until they change it up. Great price but the prices reflect how the theater is. I will not come back here.

This is the only "Dollar" theater around. The pricing is a bit high for late run movies (movies out for a few months). The seating is old, somewhat uncomfortable, it has only two screens, and the place has a general messy/dirtiness to it - we go because the price is less than a first run theater. We are glad they are in town, but its not the type of place I would usually go for a movie.

Low budget. Chairs are faded badly need to be redone. The chair could use a cleaning. The ARM rest on the chair has screws sticking up. If I had a screw driver I would fix it so the next person could sit comfortably. The whole building could use a face lift. Need new carpet drapes Ect. However, it cost $3.50 vs $11.00. Popcorn and soda is still $10 easily.
