This place is gorgeous. Not many inexpensive ways to experience the arts in southern maryland to the level that Annmarie provides. Beautiful installations all through the wooded paths, art classes for kids and adults, special events quite often- and the (air conditioned) galleries are great as well. Gift shop has a ton of neat items, from toys and cute fun baubles to full on art pieces from the featured artists. The Artsfest every September is a great two day event with 150-ish artists displaying their wares, you can find everything from jewelry to 8 foot tall driftwood sculptures! Stained glass, Ceramics/pottery, of course painters and photographers galore... Lovely fabric and silk artists, metalwork and others Ive forgotten to mention! Many of those artists also sell things at the Makers Faire events on Saturday mornings during their season (website does have the info) so if you missed Artsfest you can still see a lot of beautiful things for sale! Definitely a place worth visiting if youre in the area, expect to spend a good amount of time exploring.

A neat little place. Most of the sculptures are on loan from the Hirshhorn, and tend to be 1950s or 1960s pieces. The walk is about 1/4 mile on a wooded asphalt path. It was very peaceful, and though we saw a few other people, we were mostly alone on the trail, which was nice. Some of the pieces are set back a bit from the path, and earlier rain had left the grass soggy so we couldnt approach them, but there was nothing we did not see. The building has an art lab where you are welcome to make art projects using recycled items such as egg cartons and old CD cases. This would be a nice place to take kids: a little art project, the opportunity to run around outside a bit, and all for a pretty reasonable price ($5 each for adults, less for kids). We will be going back.

Wished we lived closer to visit more and do the many art classes/workshops. Love how nature and art come together. Lots to see during your peaceful outdoor walk. Great for kids. They have a craft room where you can do a free craft, was expecting something for very little kids, but they had a neat craft for older people making flowers out of old plastic soda bottles. If you have the chance you must go to the holiday lights, it is so pretty to walk through a lit up woods at night. No feelings of being rushed by the car behind you, just walking at your own pace. Different sections had different themes, most not Christmas themed, but still very pretty and creative. They had a live band inside playing traditional Christmas music. The gift shop is nice.

As an artist myself, I had wonderful time observing a variety of artistic talent of all genres. Anne Marie Gardens had a very peaceful, relaxing ambiance which allowed me to fulling take in, and appreciate every artist who had the courage to show the world what their souls are made of. The actual garden was very serene, paths within the trees, revealing here and there beautiful sculptures. I would go for a return visit, place my own art on display there, and bring the family to enjoy. Did I mention they have a free art lab, fully equipped to express your own artistic wanderings for those of all ages.

Quite an interesting art experience tucked away in a unique geographical location. Although it was very cold the day I walked the sculpture gardens, it was worth the cost (re: the weather; the admission was free the day I attended and normally only $5). Artists inside the facility were busy creating wonderful artifacts; upstairs was a couple of pieces on loan from the Hirshhorn in DC. As a final note, the place is child friendly. I highly recommend Annmarie, especially if you enjoy artistic expressions.

Annemarie Gardens was horribly MEH. Paid $6 per person and not one scene of the THE Reason for the Season. Never going there again and if people can make a big deal about the Lord being in The Pledge of Allegiance, school "winter concerts", etc., then I can make a big deal about the Absence of The Navitity scene in something Im paying for when it IS CHRISTmas time! No, I have to look at stupid crap like cowboys?!, ocean objects, camels??!...cmon

My favorite local cultural spot. Great for taking my old dog for a walk, viewing a unique exhibit, taking an art class, buying a gift for someone who has everything, treating yourself to a fun piece of jewelry from a local artisan or making some craft from recycled materials! Be sure to go in to the old public (ladies) restroom in the education building - youll never see one like that again!

Great place to take art classes, after hour show openings are always a great time, or just spending afternoon walking the gardens. You must check out Arts Fest in September, lots of talented artists, entertaining musicians, delicious selection of refreshments, and lots of fun for all ages.

Love the Artfest they have every fall. Also during Halloween and the Christmas Holidays they decorate the gardens with lights. They have scheduled art classes... painting, pottery ect. You can rent the facilities for events too. Pretty awesome place.

Hidden gem of culture with both a local flavor and the limitless reach of art. Friendly staff, library atmosphere in the indoor gallery, and a peaceful, shady walking path for outdoor exhibits. Great place to take your imagination for a stroll!

I have been visiting Annmarie Garden for years. Their gallery changes over time like the seasons and their special events usually bring out the best in visual and performance arts. Great for all creative minds of any age!

The lights at the holidays are beautiful and they have a scavenger hunt to keep the kids engaged. The fairy and gnome houses in the spring and summer are adorable. Mixing art and nature is a great idea.

This is a great garden to walk around on a NIC day. They also have great displays for holidays. After walking you have access to a nice little gallary with a snack bar and live music.

Amazing place that we love going to each year for "Mud Day". Its a bit of a ride, but make a day of it and make sure to grab lunch at one of the many waterfront restaurants nearby!

I was here during a craft festival. The most interesting part for me was the upstairs of one of the buildings. They had naval art from 19th century British sailors.

Out of the way, quiet, pleasant, no large crowds. Some nice artwork, okay sculpture. A little more oriented toward children than I expected. Reasonably cheap.

A nice place to take a walk. The trail through the woods is paved. Keep your eyes open for neat little artistic surprises like fairy houses and painted trees.

What a neat little gem slightly off the beaten path! The art installations are varied, and the walking trail is a nice little loop to get some steps in.
