My husband and I were staying at the Back Creek Inn Bed & Breakfast when we saw the Chesapeake Bay Charters brochure. We called, left a message and Joshua called us back within minutes. Lucky for us, Joshua and Carmel were available for a half day sail even on such short notice. They even picked us up and dropped off at the bed & breakfast pier! It was beyond convenient. Joshua and Carmel are experienced sailors and reviewed safety procedures before we got underway. We chose the light house cruise and had perfect sailing weather. Whether your goal is to sit back, relax and enjoy a beautiful day on the water or help sail the boat, Joshua and Carmel are beyond accommodating. They are a delightful couple with extensive knowledge of local history. I would highly recommend CBC and hope to sail on the Sea Hawk again.

My husband & I are no spring chickens and had the pleasure of sailing with Joshua & Carmel on their 40ft sailboat, Sea Hawk. The late afternoon into evening sail was overcast and at times misty but the sailing conditions were great. We really didnt know what to expect but soon found them to be very professional as well as accommodating captains. This was only the 2nd time we have been on a sailboat & we felt totally confident & comfortable on their boat, beginning with the safety talk given to us before we even set sail. After sailing for a few hours we stopped for a delicious dinner at the Lighthouse Restaurant before our evening return to the marina. They know the area well and shared a plethora of information with us during our sail. We wouldnt hesitate to set sail with them again.

With many years of sailing, but no longer owning a sailboat, we were looking to again experience the joy of sailing. We contacted them after viewing their website and asked many questions about how they worked. They told us that they had never been asked for some of the things we wanted, but they were very willing to provide them. They were very flexible about the time and itinerary for the cruise. We had a 4-hour evening/night sail with Josh and Carmeletta. They were very professional and friendly. The water was beautiful, the weather great, and the moon and stars brilliant. Our expectations were exceeded in every way. We have already recommended Chesapeake Bay Charters to at least 2 people and plan to charter again with them in the future.

Fabulous sail with friends on the Patuxent River with Captains Josh and Camel this past weekend! They were incredibly charming hosts! They sailed the sailboat to the restaurant where we had breakfast and picked us up there. Capn Josh pointed out historical sites and local restaurants while Capn Carmel took pictures (so we didnt have to!) and offered us free non-alcoholic drinks. We were lucky enough to see a pod of dolphins gracefully dipping in and out of the water during the sail. The Captains sailed the boat as a team and their experience and professionalism was unsurpassed. This was the best sail experience I have ever had and I highly recommend it.

My wife and I spent a wonderful evening Sailing with Captains Josh and Carmel to celebrate our anniversary. We were welcomed aboard and made to feel right at home as soon as we arrived. We went out for a cruise that took us far into the Chesapeake Bay past one of the many lighthouses, and made our return trip as the sun was setting. The skillful handling of the boat helped set the perfect mood for a relaxing and romantic evening. We were even taught some of the finer points of sailing by two obviously experienced and capable Captains. A perfect evening all around.

The highlight of our holiday! Josh and Carmel made our family feel very welcome and relaxed on their lovely yacht while we enjoyed a fantastic evening cruise around the bay. A memorable experience for all, and one I would wholeheartedly recommend to any visitor to the area wanting a special treat, and at a surprisingly reasonable cost! My wife and I had a great time this past weekend with Carmel with Chesapeake Bay Charters! We did a six-hour sail to a local seafood joint for lunch and then went back out to the edge of the bay. We could not have asked for better weather, and truly enjoyed the time on the boat with Carmel. She provided fun tidbits of information about the local area and history, which we thoroughly enjoyed. Would highly recommend the trip for anyone!

My husband and I went on a 2 hour cruise this evening...was our first time sailing. Josh and Carmel showed up at the pier of the Lighthouse restaurant to greet us with their 40 foot sailboat. They are truly first class! Enjoyed conversations with them, on the water, enjoying the evening sunset. One of the first and best experience ever! Definitely worth it!
