We use the community center for kids parks and recreation activities. We have also visited the police who were very courteous. One complaint is that the building can be a little confusing because it houses so many entities, and entrances/hallways are convoluted. After-hours elevator is also an issue.

Ames community center is good for events, only downside is the lack of parking during many events. The facilities are new by any means, but seem to be well maintained.
