Same review I posted on yelp. Avoid this place if at all possible. I took my girlfriend here for their Romance Under the Sea promotion on Valentines Day. It was overpriced bland food that wasnt worth the money or time. The server was awful at his job and I had to flag him down after 15 minutes of waiting to ask him to exchange my girlfriends meal that he recommended. He never brought us water or asked us for a drink order. After 30 minutes I asked if he could bring us water. That took another 10 mins to bring out. The decor was beige and I asked my girlfriend why they called this aquarium if al the walls were a plain beige wall. She mentioned the restaurant actually was set under the aquarium. So why is this called Romance Under the Sea? He finally brought our soup and salad and no more than 3 minutes he brought the entree. Howd they cook that so fast!?! My girlfriend never complains about anything so when she said her food was tasteless I was shocked. I tried her dish and it was tasteless salmon. So I stopped eating hoping hed come by and ask us how we were doing...nothing. 15 minutes later I finally spotted him and waived him down to come over. I asked he exchange her dish and so I still waited. After 10 minutes her replacement came out. Well whyd they bring out the entrees so fast earlier? By this time my food was cold and well I took several more bites and gave up. It wasnt that good to begin with. Surf and turf. Youd think one of the 2 would taste good. Neither did. My girlfriend took several bites from her new dish and saw how upset I was and stopped eating. This was supposed to be a special night and nothing about this place denoted that occasion. I paid $192 and gratuity was included to add insult to injury. When I calle to complain they offered no real apology and said I could come back and hed give me the "VIP" treatment. I mean if that was the quality on a special occasion Id hate to see them on a regular night. I told the manger No Thank you. Id rather not go back for a second visit. First impressions of this place was save your money and go somewhere else. PS. Oh so I received a letter today and it was from someone at their corporate headquarters and it contained a gift card for $50. So my attempt at a special occasion which they ruined, time, and effort was worth $50. What a joke this place is garbage.

THE RESTAURANT DOES NOT CARE IF YOUR STROLLER IS STOLEN My family stopped for lunch at the Aquarium Restaurant. The hostess instructed us to leave the stroller in the corner of the 2nd floor lobby, so I folded the stroller and left it propped in teh corner of the room. Upon finishing our meal, we returned to the lobby to find our stroller missing. A restaurant employee unfolded our stroller, pushed it outside and left it... where it was then taken. I understand that public venues often have "at your own risk" designated stroller parking areas. I was not asked to, and did not leave my stroller in such an area. There was no written nor verbal agreement of any risk or waiving of liability by the restaurant. My stroller was not taken because I left it somewhere -- it was taken because a restaurant employee deliberately unfolded it and wheeled it to an outside location. Upon discover of the incident the restaurant manager, Jessica, was very apologetic and verbally accepted responsibility for the stroller going missing. She assured me that she would file a report with the corporate office (Landrys) taking responsibility and I would compensated for my loss. Unfortunately the corporate office (Landrys) does not care about the situation nor what the restaurant manager agreed to. After numerous calls with very rude and dismissive "guest services" representatives, I was told that they do not accept responsibility for the stroller going missing, despite the fact it was one of their employees that moved it without my consent. Considering the overpriced meal we just ate, it disgusts me that these are the business practices of a "family friendly" venue such as an aquarium.

We recently attended a birthday party at the Downtown Aquarium and I was very disturbed by the white tiger exhibit. Being that it was a birthday event we didnt have to purchase anything, other than parking, this time. We have been in the past, years ago, and it was overpriced and ridiculous how they charged you for every little thing, so we never returned. This time we actually went through the "aquarium" for what little it is, and were horrified to see the white tiger exhibit. First, what do tigers have to do w/ an aquarium? I asked our tour guide, and she said that they were just there because the owner had them and needed a place to put them. I then asked her if they were rescues and to please elaborate as to where they came from. She said they were all born in captivity and they actually have 4 of them. We saw only one in the enclosure so I asked about the remaining tigers. She said they are not all allowed out at the same time so they are kept in the back, but wouldnt elaborate as to how they are "kept". The enclosure size is pathetically small for animals of this size and the likelihood that they are probably in even smaller enclosures in "the back" makes it even more disturbing. I find the fact that they are even there an insult to the species. I took the time to research white tigers in captivity further, and lets just say what I found infuriated me enough to encourage me to actually take the time to write a review. To the owner(s) of the aquarium, I sincerely request that you please find a better place for these magnificent creatures, such as a sanctuary, for them to live out their days.

First of all it was hard to book reservations with Kelsey. That was very stressful. She finally called me back and stated that dinner reservations for 20 would be at 5pm on 2/7/15. This took a couple of weeks to complete. On that day I get a call from the restaurant at 4:15pm stating that my reservations are set for 6pm. I argue that no that isnt right and my guest will be arriving at 5 like planned. I finally was transferred to a manager after arguing with the person who called me and she stated that its fine show up at 5 for your reservations. When we go there we were not seated till 5:40, very frustrating with hungry guest and their children. When we got to the table we had to pull over 3 more chairs ourselves while the waiters and managers stood back and watch. After we were seated the balloons were brought to my table which I order but I was given a false description of what they would look like when I talked to a manager at the restaurant he stated well what did you expect and I told him fancy aquarium themed balloons and he said well the theme is you get to dine inside of the aquarium. The waiter Nikki was not friendly at all. She did not introduce herself to us. When we wanted refills she only got a few of our drinks and didn’t come back to get rest of the drinks. Emptying glass and dirty dishes were piling up on our table service was awful. It was a horrible experience for me and my guest. I am so embarrassed by the way everything turn out. If it wasn’t for my two son’s birthday I would have got up and left. Too much money spent for a horrible and stressful situation I was in.
