Absurd policies and rude management. Visited with my elderly mother-in-law in a wheel chair the evening of 6/30/15. I ordered a large combo with two large drinks but wanted to swap one of the large cups for a smaller one that would be easier for her to handle. The cinema policy wouldnt permit it as it would throw off their inventory counts. I priced out the popcorn with a large and small drink but it made the price go up by almost $4. Thats absurd. I asked to speak to the manager but he was rude and smirked at me the entire time I nicely pleaded to swap for a smaller cup. I dont entirely blame Showplace Cinemas for this policy because the other Showplace theaters management has allowed me to swap for a smaller cup. This manager clearly had a "us-versus-them" attitude. If he was customer focused he could have easily made a note for their cup counts and exchanged my large cup for a smaller one.

LOVE Showplace South! They have $2 admission everyday except Tuesday and its only $!! They keep the place pretty clean and I am always helped by a staff member if I have a problem. When we go there is always a great choice of seating and very few people. My only complaint is the people who bring their little kids with them. (who should not have to be quiet, since they are just kids, and should be at home or the park so they can play!) This ruins the experience for me if its not quiet, so I leave. Overall though, a great place to catch a movie!

This location is one of several ShowPlace Cinemas in the area but this "South" location is different from the other because its only shows certain movies that have just left the big theaters or movies that will be out on DVD soon. How is that great? 1. Because its only $2.00 ($2.50 on the Weekend) 2. Its not crowded. You can sit where you want. 3. Its still on the big screen so for certain movies that youd only want to see in theaters but you also hate paying $9.50... its the best of both worlds for a lot cheaper!

Nothing fancy and I don’t think many updates have been made in several years, but it’s all about the price. This is by far the cheapest theater in town even though it mainly shows movies that have been out for a while. It’s rarely crowded so you almost always have your choice of seats. There’s been more than one time that I’ve been and was the only person in the theater. Overall, it’s nothing spectacular, but it’s great if you’re on a tight budget or don’t want to spend a ton of $$$.

Not bad. Allows one to get the big screen experience somewhat cheaper. You will have trade offs though. The volume is not up very much, so you will hear every mouth smacking, paper rattling, straw suckin inconsiderate dumbass thats sitting close to you. The chairs arent terrible, but arent newer either. Mostly like that its not overly crowded. if they would just turn up the volume (without blowing your ears out), it would be even better.

Cheap movies that busy parents didnt get to catch the first go around. It was very nice to be able to take the lil kids to a movie. Even though they came out a few months ago, that was perfect because there werent many in the theater for the kids to upset by being "little and loud". One can tell its an older cinema, but they have kept it clean and nice. TICKETS ARE ONLY $2-4!!!!!!!! AWESOME!

A cool place to go to very clean of course snacks and drinks are a bit on the high side but free refills for all sizes of drinks that is pretty awesome good sound and picture quality have been there the past two nights rogue one and tonight saw 50 shades darker very impressed

Showplace South is a great value, the seating is new as well as the digital projection. I catch movies there that i missed when they were first released, for me this is sometimes my last chance to see great movies on the big screen. Evansville is lucky to have this place.

Our favorite theater. Usually not too crowded, very clean and great service. You cant beat the prices! The movies are usually just off the new release in other theaters and if you still love that big screen experience, this is the place.

Its actually more comfortable than the other locations , sometimes if your lucky you get to watch cool movies on a big screen by yourself!! Ill wont soon forget watching sinister all by myself here. Lol made a mediocre movie great!

Its an okay place until I visited the bathroom after the show and someone decided to crap all over the toilet and wall. Pretty disgusting blowback but you get what you pay for.
