Normally, I would never write a poor review about a business because I believe talking to management and allowing them to work out issues is the best approach. However, after the experience my family and I had at Legoland, I feel its only fair to warn people not to waste their time or money here. We were waiting in line at the Kingdom Quest ride only to witness my 8 year old nephew be snapped at by one of the staff members for making a mistake. When it was time to enter the ride the staff member walked away without saying anything and my nephew assumed it meant we could enter the ride. He started to walk toward the car and I called him to come back to the line; I informed him he had to wait. The staff member then return to the entry gate where we were standing and sternly said the following to my nephew, "This is a large electrical ride! Its considered heavy machinery, like a bulldozer. Do not step out there again without my assistance." My nephew said sorry for the mistake and agreed with the staff member, however, that wasnt good enough. The staff member continued to scold him and said the following, "If you do it again, I will have you kicked out and you will not be allowed back here again!" I was shocked! I interrupted and told the staff member that his explanation was very rude and unnecessary. I stated that simply telling my nephew to wait for help to enter the ride was enough especially after he had apologized. I told the staff member that the threat was unfair since my nephew didnt know he was about to make a mistake. It gets better! The lady standing next to me happened to be the mother of this staff member, so she decides to interrupt and tell me that her son wasnt rude and that he was doing his job. I stated again that her son didnt have to be so stern or issue a threat. When the manager arrived to talk to me, the staff members mother kept cutting me off. I never did get to tell the manager the entire story, so I decided to walk away and call the next day. When I called, a sympathetic staff member answered, she asked me about the nature of my call. She said, "Oh my, Im really sorry that happened and put me hold to speak with a manager. She came back to the phone and stated, "The manager said, its already being handled and doesnt want to talk!" The staff member and his mother had convinced the manager that my family and I were out of line!!! I would recommend staying away from this place. I have never seen such rude behavior shown to customers before, especially to children! Not only is the service poor, but the place is dirty, overpriced and doesnt offer a lot to do. I would have selected "poor" for the rating if it was a choice, but "poor to fair" is the only one for a review. This is a "zero" star establishment, which requires new management. If you do try it, I hope you have a better experience than we did. You can see from other reviews that someones experience here is hit or miss. In order to have a good time, you have to just get lucky with timing, ignore poor service and a dirty environment. Good luck!

I was really hesitant to take my 6 year old son here after reading so many negative reviews. Im glad we decided to make the trek anyhow because we really had a great time here! We arrived right at open (10am) and there was a line. We had purchased our tickets online since we needed a certain time-slot due to travel. The line went quickly and smoothly. We got the lanyard addition and my son had fun collecting the stamps throughout and it really was a good souvenir for him. We did not eat lunch here as I had read about the cost. I agree that the cost was high when looking at the options. We did pack in some snacks (granola bars, bananas) and I saw many other families that brought in lunch items without question from staff. It did start to get really busy by 1pm so we finished up and were heading out around 1:30. Chicago in LEGO and the LEGO jungle were awesome and even my son spent a considerable amount of time looking at everything and asking me to take pictures of many of the items. The Kingdom Quest ride was fun for our family. Was it thrilling? No. Was it fun and memorable for my child? Yes. Enjoying quality time as a family made it fun. The Master Builder class was fun even though we had made the item at a previous LEGO build at our local LEGO store. There were many things around the room that had been created and we spent a fair amount of time looking at them. The factory tour was a bit cheesy but again, appropriate and fun for a 6 year old. My son really liked the 4D movie (we saw the Chima movie) and I thought they were well done and enjoyable as well. The car racing area and play area were also fun for him and he and my husband had fun building various cars and racing them down the tracks. We did not go on the pedal ride due to lack of interest by my son. He said hed rather play in the play area. My sons favorite part was exchanging the minifigures with the staff. He had carefully put together 4 figures before we left and we searched and searched for trades. He got some neat figures in his exchanges. Many of them had 6+ to choose from. He even got one of the brand new Nya figures that is in one of the larger Ninjago sets. Overall I think this is a great place for young LEGO lovers. It is obvious that this place is older and in need of some cosmetic updating but it didnt affect our visit. The staff was great! We did opt to go over to the LEGO store at the mall for additional souvenirs since we have a LEGO VIP card and had been saving up our points for our son to get a larger LEGO set while there. I understand why they dont accept the card and again, it did not have any affect on our overall visit.

The MOST AWFUL EXPERIENCE EVER!!! So many of my close friends raved about this place that their children love going there. I am currently expecting and Ive been having this cute idea on having a lego baby shower theme. I wanted my best friend to help me pick out a lego theme and we would buy it and have my husband and her bf build it. I have this cute idea for having the legos as center pieces for my shower. I took NO children unfortunately it was my best friend with her fiancé , my husband and my pregnant self. Were we live its far from this "awesome" place, its a 3 hour drive. We get there and we are taking pics outside of the building its cute it is welcoming. All four of us go in and I am just amazed telling my gf about the ideas im having about my baby shower. We look around because we wanting to take a quick peek at the museum. We stood at the entrance walking up to the front of the desk and looking around this one older guy with a backpack, he wore a hat didnt look like he worked there talking to one of the staff. The guy goes " you look lost" and I said its amazing I love it here but I dont see the museum? and the old guy goes "u dont have kids u cant come in here". The staff member said nothing to the guy BUT LAUGHED at us. I was very much humiliated. The staff member said nothing to us laughed along with the old guy. My best friend tried to make the best of it and was telling me to buy the lego batman sets and smaller lego box sets to give away as prizes for my shower. I HAD NONE, NO INTENTION of buying anything. I made my husband drive 3 hours to get one of the worst customer service EVER. This place is very unwelcoming and pretty much the worst. They didnt get my money and we went to Toys R Us. Toys R us has much better service and on top of everything they WELCOMED us. To the parents that want to go in buy a gift to surprise your kids OR expecting mothers of their first child like me.. ARENT ALLOWED to go IN. So if ur like us and have to drive for hours just go to Toys R Us
