Been here many times for matinee shows; ticket prices are slightly cheaper than other area theaters. Very unique theater with an interesting layout. Some theaters are very small, though; be prepared to watch a movie in a tiny theater if it has been out for a while. Popcorn is good, prices for food and drink are a little cheaper than other area theaters. Staff are very courteous and helpful. LOTS of excellent nearby restaurants and bars. Overall, this is a very nice theater.... however, parking is an absolute NIGHTMARE, no matter what time you go. This theater is located in lovely downtown Oak Park, which is always congested with traffic. There are parking garages located within a couple of blocks, but they are expensive. Parking on the street (IF you can find a spot) requires you to feed meters before 6PM (25 cents per 15 minutes). Make sure you allow plenty of time to find parking and walk a couple of blocks.

The movie theatre itself is worthy of 3-stars. Why? Because parking in the area is a huge pain in the behind!!! We always end up parking several blocks away. Once in a while we get lucky and find a spot a lot closer, but this is rare. With that said, it is clean and the employees are friendly. There are tons of restaurants in the area, which we always patronize. The fact that there are many choices of restaurants at many different price-points is worthy of 5-stars alone. The choices are endless! Skip all the junk food at the movies, and find a good restaurant in the area to eat. I like that this movie theater shows movies that are only at "select" theaters. My final rating is 3-stars due to the fact that parking is very, very difficult in this area. The people who rated this theater with 5-stars must live in the area, and do NOT have to deal with the hassle of finding a parking spot.

Its a great theater. Definitely cheaper and matinee ends late than most Chicago city theatres. Tons of parking lots around. Not expensive. The metra and the green L stop is right there too. Good selection of movies for the price. The food stand sells the basics: candy, pop/soda/coke (whateves), nachos, and popcorn. Dont expect pizza, hot dogs, fries, chicken nuggets, icees or ice cream. Just as well, I spend less money and eat less calories. The seats are weird however. My mom couldnt see the screen! She had to seat on the side of the theater by the aisle. I noticed other short people had to do that. Kids get their booster seats but short adults, its hard! They def should fix that. Nice seats but useless when people cant seat comfortably in them. Service is good, considering its lots of teens working there, I dont think I saw any adults supervising. Which is impressive. Kudos!

CC Lake is a bit more upscale than the AMCs and the Cinemark in the area. Prices are a tad higher or the same as the competitors but I think its worth it. This theatre tends to play some of the limited-release films that you dont see at the other chains, which is nice. I like their no children under 6 PM policy too, as it helps keep the distractions down. On the bad side, parking is more of a hassle. I tend to come on Sundays when some of the parking structures are free. It can get crowded during the blockbuster movie releases and the hallways arent very wide so it can get confusing at times with all the people who are lined up getting in the way. Overall, I like CC Lake and its my theatre of choice.

Since movie theaters in the city can be a frustrating ordeal for a last minute decision to visit (sold-out! should have purchased tickets in advance!) its refreshing to visit a historic theater where the visit can be a little more low-key. Located on a bustling stretch of Lake Street in Oak Park surrounded by great little restaurants and cafes, it makes for a perfect night out thats not too far from the city, but still a little different and exciting (still easily accessible though, by CTA green line). The theater I sat in was a good size--not too small and not too large, and chairs were comfortable.

We love this theater. We have 2 other theaters near our home and make the drive to oak park. Seats are comfortable, its always clean, concession prices are fair, and staff is always friendly. My husband would go there for the nachos and jalapenos alone..lol Parking is available right past the theater in the garage which is free on Sundays and extremely reasonable other times. I have taken my family there on several occasions but oak park is a great date night location as well.

I think of sharing a movie now as most of us now have a theater like setting in our own homes. I go here to see mostly "art" movies which is to say the crowd may be a little better. This is an old theater that has been updated with 3D digital screens. Somehow nice mix of old and new. Parking is now about a block away in the Oak Park parking lot. Starbucks next door for post film discussion and Khybor Pass across the street for quick Indian buffet for about 10 bucks.

I like this theater for two reasons: a) nostalgia and b) overall experience. Seeing a movie here is a nice alternative to AMC. Parking is sometimes hectic, but living so close to the city that is to be expected. Prices are right in line with competitors, but youll find more independent films here than with the large chain theaters. If I am in the area on a Friday night and in the movie mood, this is where I go.

Everything is really on par for this theater with other theaters. I wish it was better, but whatever. Ill keep going here when I want to see a movie. The one thing I have to say is that the audio seems a bit loud at some times. Im not just saying its loud, but it gets loud to the point that I feel like its actually kind of ruining the experience. If Im the only one that thinks that, then whatever Im just weird.

I like that Tuesdays house $5 any movie, all day. The food prices are reasonable. Some of the screen rooms are just too old & dirty & I find myself having a difficult time getting comfortable in the seats b/c of the old food on the floors & worn out seats. Some screening rooms are cleaner than others. A simple, or should I say, more thorough sweeping is necessary after films & @ the end of the night.

Ive been here multiple times and have always had a great experience. The staff is very friendly. The last time I went, I accidentally left my phone in the theater. Unfortunately I noticed just as I walked out of the locked doors. In less then a minutes I saw an employee dash out, so I waved him down. He handed me my phone and said he was happy to have been able to catch me!! Great customer service!

If your looking to take your family or have a date night at the movies this is the place to go. It has that old school feel but with all the modern amenities of a new theatre. The staff is always pleasant and the popcorn with drinks are reasonably priced. They always have a great selection of the latest movie releases at some great times, especially if you are trying to do dinner and a movie.
