The new Discovery Center opened in June, what an improvement! This outstanding Nature Center now has a visitor experience for rain or shine. A great afternoon can be spent in the museum and nature exchange where kids can trade points for found objects and become young naturalists. Kids and adults have so much to do and see there now! The beautifully landscaped gardens feature native plants and the green roof terrace overlooking the pond and river offers a splendid view with a vista of the river. Strollers and even wheel chairs can access this new facility. Hiking trails are in great condition and offer so much to see with live native animals found in the region to visit along the trails. They have programs every weekend and becoming a member is the best value, so you can return for picnics and classes in a variety of interesting topics from birding to gardening.

An admirable facility dedicated to education about and preservation of local wilderness. I will say I was saddened to see the injured/recovered-but-disabled animals on view outside in their confined circumstances, but according to the Center they are no longer able to fend for themselves. It must be confusing and frustrating for these animals to see others like themselves (hawks, raccoons, etc.) wander freely into the pen area. Nevertheless, the CNC is a wonderful place and were lucky to have it in Roswell.

I bring the kids here often, we have a yearly membership. The staff is great, and their indoor area is perfect for small kids to play. Also, my kids attend camp here. They have events often, though some are not included in the regular family membership, which was disappointing. They have a few nice trails, canoeing and a nice shady river boardwalk walk. They also have a special entrance to the new city owned River Walk.

My kids and I had a nice time here. They especially liked the fairy house free play area. I felt it was overpriced for what they had to offer. For a family of six, fifty dollars is a lot to pay to walk a couple short trails and see some poor caged birds. I felt especially sorry for the beaver in his small fenced area.

The staff is great! My kids love the inside area. The outside area isnt that great however, kinda like strolling through my backyard. The animals are all rehabbed, injured animals that cannot be released. They offer a great summer camp and lots of events. We have an annual membership and go often.

Had a childrens birthday party here which was great but we were denied entrance into the nature center (even thought it was to be included in the price of the party) so the party fizzled was cut short and we had a gaggle of disappointed kids including the birthday girl to console.

Bald eagles here are interesting. They have a "Creature Feature" where a live animal is on display and you get to watch a brief presentation on the animal and then ask questions. Amazing animals on display and awesome areas to hike and play. Definitely wortg having a membership.

Such a great learning environment close to home. Our toddler is infatuated with the fish and turtles and loves to visit the beavers. I love all of the informational activities available for children (& adults) and is very reasonably priced for a day visit or annual pass.

This is a great nature center. They have some nice exhibits about the river and the watershed, some neat aviaries with some rescued native birds, and even a small habitat for a few rescue beavers. There are also some nice trails around the grounds and by the river.

Well maintained path behind the building, with the ability to see some of the raptors that have been brought in injured but deemed non-releasable after treatment. If youre lucky you can see the beavers, owls, hawks, or bald eagles up close in their enclosures!

We had a blast! Our favorite part was probably the butterfly house, but the beavers were also well recieved. We brought a lunch and used the picnic tables on site. The indoor education center was fantastic for little legs after a long walk outside.

I love this place! Lots to do and see for adults and kids alike. The presentations at the pavilion are so informative and entertaining. The grounds are beautiful. Great gift shop, too! Get a yearly membership, it is definitely worth it!

The Discovery Center is a Top Drawer Interpretive space that contains many Sustainable Building practices as well. The surrounding 126 acres is also some of the best natural resource interpretive land anywhere in the Atlanta Metro Area.

Nice hiking trails, great garden area, lots of birds on display, bald eagles, snakes, fish, etc. Loads of stuff to keep the kids busy indoors and out for hours! They have a great variety of paddle trips, and interpretive walks to go on.

This is an excellent nature center that children enjoyed. If you have small kids - they have activities and programs throughout the summer and year-round that you can be a part of at reasonable prices and in a comfortable environment.

It is a delightful little gem tucked away in Roswell. They have an incredibly fun Discovery Center, exciting family friendly programming, and a beautiful pavilion. I also love hanging out by the lake looking at the bald eagles.
