Let me tell you a story about tonights Todd Snider show and how we were treated. Keep in mind I was there for opening night last year when Todd played 3 nights. I was also there for all 5 Kevn Kinney shows in August. Plus I was there in February to see Tribute The Allman Brothers tribute band. Never in my life as a paying customer have I been treated so poorly by any establishment. Tonight your waiter at table 61 got in my face after I asked for a spoon for my wife to eat her $6 ice cream. I was told he didnt bring out the ice cream and it wasnt his deal. Then at the end of the night our bill was incorrect from the same waiter, I showed him and I told him he was pathetic after how he treated me earlier. Next thing I know a manager is asking me to come with him. He accused me of verbally assaulting his waiter. I asked him if he always took his staffs side and he said yes. I told him he was full of carp and dead wrong. And now he owes me $38 for making me miss the show. I cant believe all this actually happen tonight. Im still in awe. If this is how your employees are trained this is pathetic and everyone need to know I need someone that can show me they care and can take care of this to return my messages left with the front desk along with my number. You guys owe me or I am done coming to shows at City Winery and I will write some scathing reviews for all to read. The ball is in your Court now!!! ***After JC Shurts response I would like to know what other incident we had and when. Also three people complained? How they couldnt even hear what was said to me by your rude staff. Also I never disrespected your or your CEO. I have a copy of our text message and no where did I call you anything but your name. You Sir are now slandering me. Dont worry JC I will never set foot in a City Winery ever again. Thanks for defending your rude staff. I hope things go well for you. And I am glad I ruined your day off, your staff ruined my night out. I guess we are even now. Let the people decide for themselves if they want to be treated like second classs citizens at City Winery Atlanta. Peace

Pros- This place is beautiful inside. I love the set up and the location. Cons - The food is over price and it wasnt good. I had the buttermilk chicken and some of my other friends did too. Only one of them liked it. The menu states it comes with broccolini but we all got asparagus. We didnt have a problem with that but it would have been nice to know before hand. Also, they charge! $20 for a piece of white meat chicken and 1 piece of dark meat. One of the plates had a drum stick and the other two plates had thighs. I didnt think to ask if, it was white or dark meat. For that price it should have been all white meat. The gravy they put over the chicken is nasty. It is a little sweet. I have never had sweet gravy before. Two of the ladies had hamburgers. One of the ladies didnt like it at all. The birthday girl tried to order some of the wine they suppose to have on tap. But both wines she asked for they say they didnt have it. It sounds like a trick to me for you to order the more expensive wine. Oh, please dont let forget to talk about our waiter who seems to not show up for long periods of time. I dont understand why he was working the inside and outside. They should have had waiters working only the inside or outside. When the food came out some of our food was wrong. I didnt get mine at all. I had to wait until our waiter to show up before I could get my food. One of guys sent his salad back because it was suppose to have added grilled chicken to it. So, he didnt have any food. If, you have a group of 9 or more they cant give separate checks. They do this equal pay crap. Which I wasnt told when I made the reservation nor was it written anywhere on the website. We had a real problem with this because we all would have had to pay $29 each. This wouldnt have been right for some of the people because mine was $59 with the tip. We got lucky because only 8 people had ordered something.

MIXED. There are some great things about this venue and some challenging things. What we liked: The concert venue space, the table seating, the concept, and the vibe. What we disliked: Service and layout. Service is lacking and not a priority. For our $65 VIP ticket, we were greeted by a very disinterested hostess at what felt like a back entrance through a garage. She was impolite and rude should not be working there. She barely spoke to use and barked orders at a very junior person who sat us. First impressions mean a lot and this was a very bad one. Our table service was OK, but not great. The acoustics are pretty good for music. They spent some time on the design and layout, which shows. The challenge is that they seem to have hired some very disinterested staff. Perhaps they could get 4 or 5 stars if they raised the amount they pay staff and upgraded significantly their focus on service. Ponce has an upscale crowd and expectations. The service here needs an overhaul based on the other reviews I read and our experience. AGAIN, THE PROS: Great space. Great vibe for a concert (we saw Kinks guitarist Dave Davies.) I probably would return, but eat before I get here. We ordered a bottle of wine, but they were out of our first request (lightly reminding them their name is City Winery.) Table seating is a GREAT benefit, especially in VIP. Other tables seemed close, but its still better than "row" seating at other venues. I love the concept and vibe here and we will return. I hope they read these reviews and hire some "A" talent who care more about service. We had a fun evening, so I know this place has great potential. Worth a trip if you have not been. It adds a nice dimension to Ponce City Market.

Visited last Sunday. Out of the four red house wines "on tap", they only had one available. Out of the three flatbreads, they only had the Margherita available. For dessert, you could order the Creme Brulee with Macaroons...you just wouldnt get the macaroons because...they were out. As for the food: I ordered the Buttermilk Fried chicken. Without exaggerating, I believe that the plate that was brought to me was either left over from the show event catering going on downstairs, or it was made AND plated earlier in the day. The chicken was JUST warm and the crust was dry. The white gravy actually had "skinned" over, a sure sign that it had been on there a while. The asparagus were also only slightly warm. As for the pimento macn cheese..it was DOA...also warm and not a hint of pimento or any other notable flavor. For an app we had the Mediterranean Dip Trio which was very good, except there was far more dip than the provided pita wedges could handle. So, we had to order AND pay for extra pita wedges! On the plus side I will say that our waitress was really good and handled all of the "sorry we dont have.." conversations really well. She also managed to expedite the remake of my dinner, which DID come out piping hot. Served hot, I would say my dinner was "good". For dessert, we had the flourless chocolate cake, which was very good.
