ok so here is the deal: first of all, tennis is excellent. no doubt about it. however if you want to play tennis, save yourself the money, stay at a surrounding hotel for 1/3 the price and save yourself the misery. Here are the negatives. First, the hotel is dirty, really dirty, moldy bathrooms, shower curtains look like they were never cleaned and I stayed in an upgraded 1 bedroom suite. Would hate to see what the normal studios look like. I paid over $300 a night and a days inn or super 8 is cleaner than this place at 1/3rd the price. Wifi internet NONEXISTANT. It reminds me of using AOL from 1992, it is soooo slow that you can practically get nothing done. So if you plan on doing any work or even browsing the internet....bring a hotspot! The hotel staff is basically useless. I wanted to print out a ticket for a disney park. Emailed to the front desk. It was in PDF format which is the most popular format on the internet today and virtually 99.9% of docs/tix are in that format. Guess what, they could not open the doc. So I go to the front desk and see they are using an unlicensed version of some old pdf program which cannot open it. So they direct me to their printer which is $5 to print 1 page. I reluctantly agree and put in my credit card to pay. Guess what, the printer there does not even work! So then I go to someone in the office, show her how to download Adobe PDF reader which is a FREE program and print it from her computer. Her response, IT never showed that to them !! Next, I have a 2 year old who eats something funny and throws up in bed on the sheets, wife calls room service at 8am....no one comes....calls again....no one comes....wife cleans up all the sheets....calls front desk again....now they finally come...guess what...matresses do not have mattress protectors on them at all....so they put some lysol on the mattress and leave......so out of courtesy to the next guest who would have checked in after us....wife calls the head of room service to complain that they did a bad job and should have at least cleaned the mattress a little more throughly.....guess what...a mattress cleaning guy comes and does a deep cleaning on mattress......so we think we are happy........we go to check out....they charge us $100 for the mattress for the deep cleaning....unbelievable...I complain...they give me the head of room services number and tell me to call him....I check out pissed....call him 3 times in the next 2 days....he never bothers to call me back.... that about sums up the level of customer service this place has....I will never stay here again...first bad review of a hotel I have ever written in my life...its that bad, believe me....

The Saddlebrook Golf Course was a decent layout but in terrible condition. The Palmer Course was in better shape but still below average. I was expecting two nice resort courses, and instead got two courses that I wouldnt pay more than $25 to play. Cost of a six-pack of domestic beer on the golf course was $37.50. Played a shotgun start Saturday morning. They couldnt locate one guys clubs, but told us to go out to our hole because we needed to start. He finally got his clubs on the third hole. Pool area was nice, but had lunch there one day and service was painfully slow. Food was fine, but food and especially drinks were overpriced. Margarita was $18. Dempseys restaurant was nice but again significantly overpriced for the overall quality of this resort. Entire resort felt like it was a cash cow for somebody with no money being put back into the golf course, rooms, etc. Employees in all areas of the resort complained about outdated POS system. 10 minutes to make a small purchase in the golf shop. Problems getting our bill after lunch by the pool. Problems getting bill from sports bar. Entire POS system down at checkout so they couldnt give me a receipt. I left an email address to get an email receipt, but still waiting for that several days later. Called to follow up on receipt today and was transferred to accounting department. That call went to voice mail. Still waiting for reply.

The resort was nice, the people there were friendly and it was very kid friendly. The only thing that I did not like was the valet services. You have to pay an additional $15 to valet your vehicle and they park it in a parking lot that you cant even see from the resort. I booked the room online and was unaware of these charges until later. Every time we need our car we had to wait 20 minutes to get it and sit under a carport and sweat until they finally came. We tipped them each time because we thought we had to and didnt know at the time we were already being charged for the services. The room was nice and was fairly clean. One thing that amazed me was how much trash was just scattered everywhere in the bushes, by the stairs, by the lakes, etc. I would unfortunately not stay there again, I think for the price and the extra fees its not worth the hassle. Especially the valet services which became a nuisance by the end of our stay. We had all our bags packed and ready and had to just sit and wait under the hot carport until our car came, very inconvenient.

I am very grateful to the team of Saddlebrook resort. I send my parents to resort because my dad is quadriplegic and was very nervous with the theme of hurracane matthew. we decided to send them to the city of tampa that was more relaxed. to move my dad from one city to another is not very easy, he gets very tired and can not spend much time sitting. after 5 hours of travel. they get to the resort where the attention was very good especially for the manager KEN and Ms. Digna Serrano, who behaved extremely well with my dad and made him to feel at home. For the holidays we are planning to go with the whole family. Thank you very much for making my father feel happy and important. Sthefany Hung.

Very nice resort, very friendly and helpful staff. However, there were a few disappointments. I had called ahead about tennis reservations and was told there was a complimentary clinic in which I signed my son up for- when he went to go that morning, he was told all the clinics were cancelled for the month. The description also noted there were dive in movies, but none were scheduled during our visit. The hot tub was closed our entire visit as well. We still had a great time, but it would have been nice to have had these few things that had been in the description of the resort.

Putting a $99 hotel in the middle of a bunch of attractions doesnt turn the room into a $235 room unless those attractions are free. We arrived late... This was only hotel we could find after having car trouble and choosing to spend the night in the area. All I wanted to do was put my kids to bed, but was hassled by rude PM valets who wanted me to remove bikes from rack (no way!) Overall, the process to get into our room was ridiculous, and the room was NOT worth $230. I guess if you want to golf here or something then this is a good deal. Otherwise, avoid!
