Stay away if you are transgender!! They make up their own guidelines for things such as obtaining your letter for HRT a private practice doctor takes less time AND MONEY. These places are notorious for taking advantage of us and thankfully I had the presence of mind to see that I was getting taken. Please make sure that you know the requirements for everything on your journey because MANY so called "professionals" will try to take as much of your money as possible. The accepting of INSURANCE is a hook. You have 3 - 4 times the number of sessions to get on hormones than someone in private practice and you will end up paying these people more money! Assessments should NOT take longer than 3 sessions for someone who knows who they are and what they want. Therapy and support groups ARE NOT REQUIRED to get your letter for HRT. It took me 19 days to get on HRT from the time I made the phone call to another therapist!

My husband and I recently took in a young, gay, homeless man. I researched SO MANY FREAKING OPTIONS my hands literally hurt from all the research. I finally found what seemed to be the light at the end of the tunnel. I called, spoke to RENEE who told me to bring this young man in to get him traiged for services. Get there and guess what? ITS ONLY FOR HIV POSITIVE PERSONS!!!!!!!!!!! Dont ya think you could have said something on the damn phone rather than waste our time chaperoning this man about town?!?!?!

If youre looking into their services for HRT, I highly implore you search elsewhere. Even with a letter from a therapist, theyre a headache to deal with. Has given me and others false out of pocket estimates for phlebotomy and follow-ups. Endocrinologist there refuses to prescribe certain medications. Very, very out of touch in regards to the needs of transwomen.
