Me and my father went to this place close to two weeks ago. My father was assisted by this guy whom we asked him that we wanted to purchase a coaco worm. I was shocked to see how this guy somehow brutally pulled the worm out of its tube and was floating in the tank. This guy picked up the floating worm in the tank and tried to stuff it back into the tube so i told the guy that he killed the worm and he responded back to me "oh, its not dead". No lies people. We asked for another coaco worm as he killed the one my dad wanted. I also purchased a orange clown fish, but i truly regret buying the poor fish and coaco worm as it died within 24hrs in my tank. My water conditions and quality were in perfect condition and i always properly climate new fish before introducing new life into my aquarium. I saved the water from this place and decided to test out the water. It was extremely disappointing to find out how poor quality the water was and the salinity of the water where the fish/coaco worm was sold in was way below recommended for healthy fish or coral health:(!. Sorry to say this, but will never go back to this place or will recommend purchasing any life stock from here.

Twice I have been to this store and was completely ignored after waiting over 20 minutes and the owner, his wife, and a worker, helped other people, of whom had arrived after me. I even stood at the counter for 15 minutes and was acknowledged but never asked to be helped. While the staff turned away quickly and helped 2 customers behind me. The owner himself was trying to convince an elderly gentleman to purchase expensive coral and marine life, and begin a salt water system. The man had said he never even had a fresh water system and did not want salt water but they were persisitent! He was a complete beginner and the owner along with his wife tried hard to sell this poor old guy ultraviolet lights, a tank, marine life, filtration systems, etc... After waiting patiently for 20 minutes, I left and went to Petland and was greeted very happily. Super friendly Petland employees did not have everything I needed, so I went to Marine Warehouse and was greeted and catered to by 3 polite employees! Never have I seen worse customer service than at Coral Reef Aquariums.

This place is the best! I always get good advice when I go and personal care as it should be with a small business, Lee and his son are always looking for my best interest with my tank and have even advised me not to buy something if they know it might be too difficult because my tank is too new (only 3 weeks). Ive been shopping with them for years with my freshwater tank before I upgraded to my new saltwater tank with them and I love it. Its not as hard to run a saltwater as everyone says when you deal with these guys. Good prices and they are always willing to make a deal with me :) I honestly dont understand how anyone could leave a bad reviews on Lee and his son but they must be mistaken because they are about as honest as they come. I sometimes talk to some other shoppers while Im there and Ive never heard of anyone with a problem with them.

I started my tank years ago at Marine Warehouse and have been shopping there for some time. I was tired of the very rude staff they have working there. My wife and I took a day of driving to different stores and after walking into Coral Reef and seeing their prices and talking to their staff members that help us with a problem that MW has not been able to for some time. At that point we had are new store. Even we have to pass other stores it’s worth the drive. During the week seems like a good time to go because we went there on a weekend once and the place was so pack with other customers. We didn’t mind the wait because even when it was that busy they still help us better than other stores have. They really care about your tank and you feel like a family member more than a customer. Really two thumbs up.

They are expensive and I did not like the service. I even asked who does the coral frags and the man told me someone is outsourced to come in and make them for the store. I couldnt believe it. Its small, collection is small, they try to help and make you buy unnecessary supplies. I have been building my own reef tanks since 13 years old and this place sucked. They arent professional. Do yourself a favor and go to coral corral and see what its like to see professionals in action. Prices are better, and way better selection, knowledge and so on. I came to this coral reef place first and since my first visit i searched around for a new place because I knew the unqualification of this pplace and found the coral corral. I am not from here if your wondering

This used to be a beautiful store before they moved. The selection is actually pretty good but the quality is horrible and the prices are not that good either. The store looks run down. what really got to me was the health of the fish. It is unacceptable the condition of the fish are in. Many are dead or dying, and I saw several with diseases and cancer. And of all the times ive been, just to see if they got any better, I have only ever been asked if I needed any help once. They do not pay any attention to customers and they ignore the phone. And when you ask them anything they are rude. I have never bought anything from them and do not plan on doing so. Please do yourself a favor and go to Creative Aquariums because uell never go anywhere else.

Havent visit this store in while because Im not Really around the corner but I decided to call today I asked the young guy that answer the phone what day of the week they get their freshwater shipments. He said I dont know I can hear him asking someone else he say today. I asked if they receive already? He replied in a sarcastic way thats like asking when are we gonna die. I said excuse me. He said it again. He took me from a very happy moment to I will never step foot on this place again. Very rude people. I can call any pet store around they tell you what day of the week and they tell you usually in the morning or afternoon. This employees are clue less about customers service can imagine how they treat their fish.

Coral Reef is the friendliest saltwater fish store Ive been to in the Tampa area. The staff take the time to help you better your tank and give you knowledgable advice. The owner Lee is very helpful and kind. The young girl that works there is very enthusiastic and loves to help others. I listened to her explain a basic saltwater set up vs. a freshwater set up to a young boy with his father and she was so patient with him and got him on the right track. The older guy that works there is also great. He helped me order a custom tank and followed through with the purchase. Very few fish stores are willing to give this amount of time and energy to their customers. I will continue my shopping at this store.
