This park is very large and has a great almost brand new playground for kids of all ages. The playground is separated into different sections based on age and is gated all the way around to help keep even the most rambunctious kids contained within the play area. The large old Southern oak trees provide a lot of wonderful shade, although there are also tables with shade umbrellas and benches for parents to sit and watch over their little ones. The rest of the park is wide open with several shelters with grills which can be reserved for events or birthday parties. At Christmas time the whole park gets filled with lights and is a nice little festive walking tour that you can do on your own for free any night while the lights are up. 4th of July fireworks are always good with live entertainment and food stands, but it can get extremely crowded and if youre not there really early in the day finding a spot can be challenging to say the least.

My favorite city park, has a wide open field to lay out and relax in. The kids love just running free out there as well. They have a scavenger hunt for the statues and the statues have history about them posted. The playground is set up in three sections, 0-3 yrs, 2-5 yrs and 5 to 12 yrs. There are also other amenities inside and outside the playground. Within the playground you have a seesaw, a roundabout, rocks and fake trees to climb and other interesting enjoyments. Outside they have a walkway to walk your pets or just take a stroll and an outside gym. There is plenty of shade from the trees and benches to sit and relax. They also have several small pavilions and a couple big pavilions for special occasions and renting the space isnt too expensive. And to add just one more thing, they have free train rides every first weekend(if the weather permits) to which you can donate to if you please.

Love this park but it tends to get overcrowded and parents dont always watch their kids. Playground is fenced in and there are separate areas for different ages. Swings, and more than just a couple like most parks. Clean. Slides and fake trees as well as a rock wall and other misc park equipment. Outside of the playground is a huge open field. Great for football, soccer, or just running around. In addition to the open field there is a sidewalk, double sized, so big enough for a decent group to walk. The park offers a mini train ride during the 1st weekend of each month, check website for full information. Trees are green and well kept. Grass is green and well kept. The bathroom to the west of the playground is clean and usually not busy.

Visited the park last night and it was beautifully decorated with various Christmas lights of multiple colors. There were also many lighted displays such as candy canes, polar bears, horse and carriage and flamingos. A ferris wheel and a merry-go-round were there, as well as many vendors. We enjoyed our stroll through the park and listening to the band play Christmas music; even amidst the extremely crowded sidewalks. I rated it 3 stars because of the wait to get into the park (over an hour!), and the $10 charge to park. We might try visiting again next year....but, perhaps on a week night instead of a weekend. Overall, it was very pretty and festive.

Our Favorite park! Lots of shade in turf playground area. Such a large variety of equipment geared for all ages of agility. Fenced in play area. Covered picnic tables with grills available for rent. Great green lawn next to playground is perfect for letting the littles run wide open or play ball sports. Clean bathroom facilities adjacent to playground. Ride on train runs the first full weekend of the month for the public. A must do! The Largo Library and Cultural center are next to the grounds and you can make a day of everything with children. Pathways all around the park which go through the landscaped grounds and Military memorial.

Delightful place to visit for the family. Majestic trees shade over the playground; Spanish moss hanging from their lofty branches sway in the breezes. The pavilions bring opportunity for lovely parties. Shaded walking paths meander throughout the park and around the central green lawn. Children love to visit the sculptures and water features. People have picnics, bring their pets, do yoga... The grounds/parks maintenance people keep it pristine... Hopefully removing just enough of the Spanish moss to keep the dear trees alive for hundreds more years.

Holy moly, we love this park. About a 30 minute drive from us, but its probably our favorite park in the county. Very large playground with updated play structures, including the merry go round that gives the playground our nickname of "Super Spinny." Different play areas for smaller kids and bigger kids; sand box; rock walls; train structure; rope net climbing. BIG green area for playing ball. Lovely lake and a smaller pond with wooden bridge. Lots of picnic areas with grills for parties. Beautiful park all around.

Great for people watching, exercise and lots of wonderful events held here including shows at the cultural center. The little train ride through the park is fun for little ones as is their awesome playground! The playground is gated which I love because there is always a lot of people there. There is a convenient bathroom right next to the playground. The park is right across the street from the Largo library too which has a huge selection, a great separate kids area and a cafe with some semi decent food options.

Love love love this place. I take my boys here all the time. The area around the park is so beautifully landscaped with water fountains, big shady trees, coy ponds and a huge field to run around a play. Lots of gazebos for picnics and parties. Also lots of different walking trails to take. The park area has lots for young and older children to do. Plus its connected to Largo cultural center that always has something going on. For Christmas, its beautifully decorated and a mini train runs throughout the premises

LOVE LOVE LOVE this park!! Always clean and inviting! Huge, amazing park for babies and bigger kids to play on, just watch out for teens because for some reason they like to play on the play sets as big as the are, as well as run at high speeds like theyre the only people there. THEY WILL SLAM INTO your tiny children, and the moment they do mine there will be a huge problem. Other than that, its AMAZING. Me and my girls go all the time for picnics, walks, games and playing on the playground. Love it!

The playground for kids Is usually quite packed and even at 10 PM there are often kids there. Large oaks with Spanish moss hanging from them makes this a very unique playground. There is artificial turf with soft absorbent material underneath for when kids fall down. The Christmas lights in November through January are not to be missed. There are free train rides in the park on certain weekends. They did a very nice job with this train. Its an excellent park. The pride and joy of Largo.

One of my favorite places to visit around the area. Every first weekend of the month they run the trains around the park. Really cool. Giant grassy space in the middle for soccer and such. Great play area for kids and nice sized adult exercise equipment area. Animal friendly, great place for dogs. Really cool sights like the Peace Pole & Time Capsule. My favorite part though is going for the Pokemon gyms and stops. Great spawning place for unique Pokemon.
