Ive played this course (all three 9s) several times, but have never written a review of it. So I felt it was time. A few things... First, dont let the name fool you - this isnt some ritzy country club, its a public golf course. The staff is friendly, but wont go out of their way to accommodate you. Then again, youre not really paying for the staff courtesy. The course has looked better, it had evidently rained pretty hard, so it was 90 degree rule, though some of the fairways were pretty beat up. The greens looked good, though I agree with another reviewer that the bunkers were pretty packed down so I treated all of my sand shots as simple pitch shots. Pace of play was good...to a point. We got behind a pretty slow foursome and my Dad and I (my playing partner) finally just decided to pass them. As it turns out, they were all four employees of the course and never made any effort to let us play through. Way to lead by example, guys...fortunately after that, we had no problems not having ever seen another golfer on the Dolphin course. Living in Maryland, Im used to paying a lot more for a round of golf, so for the price - this is a pretty good deal. Its 27 holes as opposed to 18 most other places, so the players are a bit more diffused. I wouldnt expect a tournament-quality course, but I doubt most who play this course would. For the money, you cant really go wrong, but if you want manicured fairways and greens - look elsewhere.

I loved the Lakes course with the exception of the green side bunkers, more sand needed. The River course was also nice, plenty of scenery and wildlife. The greens had more sand on them than the green side bunkers. The greens were terrific, true and quick. My only complaint is that the bunkers would be nicer to play out of with SAND in them. They were very hard and the ground maintenance equipment just scratches the surface.

Great trip, the kayaks were tandem. Jess was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna of the area and fielded a wide variety of questions. The hats, sunglasses and sunscreen came in handy. It was a great way to get off the roads and see some wilderness in florida. Seeing and meeting cast of regular animals was unexpected and great. You must go!

The coarse is nice with good greens but the staff ruined the experience for me. Jim Munster in the pro shop was very rude and unprofessional to me and got into an argument with the customer before me. The Country Club should let Mr. Munster go before his attitude begins to affects business for the Counry Club.

Best greens I have ever putted on in Florida. Shot a 74 on River-Dolphin, Shot a 73 on River and Lakes, then shot a 39 on the River on my 3 trips there. Saw Big alligators, dolphins, raccoon and all kinds of birds. So far one of my best golf experiences in Florida. Loved it.

Great views and occasional gators. Always a great place to play a round. It is bright though.

The starter is arrogant, incompetent argumentative, should not be allowed to handle the job.

The country club could do much better with providing wait staff for the jazz concerts.
